I just got mines today and it was perfectly fine. I got the numbing injection and Mirena iud. It felt like a sharp cramping pain, which I’m fairly use too since I’ve always had sharp painful periods since I was 9 years old. I’m sorry to the women that have had such negative experiences but my planned parenthood experience was amazingly great.
I'm writing this curled up in bed. I just got my IUD three days ago and it was the worst pain of my life. I've had broken bones and surgeries, this beats it all pain wise. Thank God they do it quickly.
@katjaz Reporting a month later! I'm totally fine now! And I got an explanation from my gyno. It hurt more for me because my uterus is curled towards my spine, which is not that common. I still don't want to sugar coat it. It'll hurt but it's a short pain and it'll pass. Don't hesitate to talk about pain management with your doctor. Periods do suck more now but I was told it gets better and I trust that
so when i got my iud inserted we found out i have a retroverted uterus, which can make the process a bit more complicated. and it was lol but i was really lucky and it barley hurt, thank god. one of my friends however almost threw up😟
It’s so wild- I didn’t have this experience at all. My insertion was easy? I don’t know how. All my friends said it was the worst thing ever. But I have bad period cramps so it made me think of that. Unfortunately, I’m getting mine removed today- 8 months later due to it giving me the worst acne I have ever had in my life. I tried everything but the acne won’t clear. I really wish I could keep it in!
@@EmmaR-zc8fhEvery body is different. My Dr told me that my reaction was rare. I had Mirena. If you’ve never had acne you will more than likely be ok. Even after my bad experience, I would still recommend it! It was totally awesome except for the acne. I was really disappointed to have it removed.
I have horrific period cramps from my severe endometriosis and it causes convulsions and hallucinations because of how bad they are. I can’t go anywhere on my period because I’m just bedridden in pain. My iud insertion was the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had in my life. I would rather get a hysterectomy than get another iud insertion. I don’t think it has anything to do with pain tolerance though. I think some people have a smaller or more sensitive cervix
@@HannahBeetacoPossibly. It can also have to do with your doctor, etc. Lots of different reasons. Regardless, pain management should be offered. I still would have accepted it.
