I bought one of these and very impressed with it: very good quality and clever engineering for the money. It is my first kuru toga though. They say the lead spins twice as fast as the previous one which is better for writing.
I got this pencil after researching the kuru toga line and coming upon this video, so thank you. I don’t know if you noticed, but this does have the sliding pipe mechanism like the Orenz for extra lead breakage prevention. That was a really nice surprise for me, and I found writing without advancing the lead out of the sleeve very pleasant indeed.
@mulpianwar466 with the orenz you can write the whole length of a lead without clicking the top of the pencil. The kuru toga advance only has the pipe slide mechanism to prevent lead breakage, so you still have to click the top to advance more lead. But the orenz ofc doesn’t have the kuru toga rotating mechanism so it really depends on your preference. Looks wise tho, orenz nero wins hands down.
I have been writing with 0.3 for a while and I recently got the Kuru Toga Advance Upgrade in 0.5 and couldn't love it more. Because it rotates, it keeps the 0.5 sharp enough that it's just as fine as a 0.3. When the 0.3 gets a slant, it can get thicker than the 0.5 kuru toga. The only minor con about the KT Advance Upgrade is the weight distribution, it's heavy down bottom and very light at the top, but I've gotten used to it quite quickly and it doesn't bother me. I love the retractable sleeve too.
Got this and lost it the next day😂 who knows where. But love my roulette. Update: I found it in back seat of the car!! Won’t let that happen again. But the Roulette and the Gear 1000 For Pro have been sweet use for math class. Will be using my Advance soon.
I so badly want the Teal and black! I have the Kuru Toga *Roulette* version in Teal with silver and gray accents. I was hoping to get this as a heavy use for arts and writing notes.. since 0.5 is more commonly to find in stores rather than my 0.3 lead for my Roulette, which I have bought 800 pieces of 0.3 for $26, so it should last a long time before I buy more lead. This advance model should make it easier to get lead so I won't be needing to use my 0.3s so heavily
after seeing this video i got a black one, and the whole thing was made out of metal there was a little bit of play with the guide pipe but other than that it was amazing
Could this be the Kuru Toga that can actually be used by low grippers? I'll have to get one and see. I have the Roulette, but the lowest point I can comfortably hold it is way too high for me.
I have a question about this kuru toga advance upgrade or also called punching grip of your video i like to know if the lead advanced it self like the orenz nero or it’s not lead advancing from the retractable pipe.
Need more specifics on the dimensions..grip, weight, balance point. These are hard to find. You said the grip was around 13mm which is way too fat for me. Vid, good quality, thank you.
So, I guess you could swap the Roulette lower body to this pencil and have the advantage of the 2x speed engine? it's the only thing I dislike about the Roulette-the slower engine.
I find the slower engine in the Roulette to write or perform better than the quicker one in the Advance. There is slight looseness and rattling of the lead with the Advance which contributed to the roughness when writing on paper.
I'm curious at whether the the endcap of this easily comes loose, especially since you're a leftie. I have the older Advance and I love it except for the extremely annoying fact that the end cap easily unscrews. I can just write a little and the endcap will have rotated a few turns, almost enveloping the entire lead. I saw another review commenting on that on Amazon, so it's not a one-off defect. I don't know if it's because of my leftie grip, but if that hasn't been fixed, I may stay away from the Kuru Togas.
I've noticed that you have raised your game. Very good light, seems like it's a better camera, better voice pick-up, and professional over all.
Thanks!

It's a trade off - with the faster spin comes more tip wiggle.

So, which one is better? Pentel Orenz or Kuru Toga? Especially the sliding pipe mechanism.

I just got my original kurutoga in .3, and wow Love this thing!!! Now I want this, the advanced upgrade in .3. the dive looks awesome as well
Have my silver Roulette for almost 10 years, it's really a great mechanical pencil. (added a foam grip sleeve for comfort)
Got this and lost it the next day😂 who knows where. But love my roulette.

You should also try Alpha Gel Kuru Toga if you haven't yet. I like it so much.
after seeing this video i got a black one, and the whole thing was made out of metal

really love this pencil the only downside is the plastic threading, one hard drop would snap in half like mine. But overall it is pretty great
The Navy colored one looks the best but dang it always sold out everywhere on Rakuten
@Denny Rahadian i got the navy and red bro
Will the Kuru Toga Advance Upgrade eventually come in 0.7mm? Also, what's the mass of this pencil?
Also, what do you prefer: the Kuru Toga Advance Upgrade or the Rotring 500 for math and writing specifically?
Thanks for the review! Does this one have sliding sleeve for Orenz-type lead protection? Can you write without advancing the lead?
@defgoe5 yes it does have sliding sleeve like pentel orenz, i got the navy and red bro

This is not an auto pencil like the Orenz
@@unsharpen thanks for the info :)
Does the pipe sleeve slide up as you write? Like the kuratog?a pipe slide
Yes, all Advance models has this feature.
Ima gonna have to check this one out

Those are all on unsharpen.com !

No you can't. The advanced is thicker than the roulette
@@Lol_A_Frog Thanks.

Where can I get the turquoise model? Any websites?
Amazon Japan probably. I think it was a limited color run.
@@unsharpen Thanks a lot 😊
Knowing my fingers... if i try to use this mechanical pencil... those holes will be FILLED with dead skin cells in one session.
I was doubting: should I take Kuru Toga Advance Upgrade? Or Kuru Toga Advance normal model? After reading your comment the choice is clear!

Mine has been ok but yes it can be an issue. A dab of light adhesive can help. Like purple loctite etc
Ehst R U talking about? Just saw it on Amazon!
I've only seen the normal Advance on amazon. I'm using Amazon US so there's only Kuru Toga Advanced not the Upgrade Version
I'll wait for the Kung-Fu Punching Grip.
Just received from Amazon Prime
(3) Uni Kuru Toga Advance 0.7mm pencils @ $3.40 ea!!!
Very solid deal!
Are you sure .7? I just ordered and it said .5...
@@princeplotena I think he meant the normal Advance model
your hands need moisturizer
Right. All this hand washing is killing me
I’m having a hard time finding this version (M510301P.TGB)… any advice and where to look? Is Rakuten reliable for overseas shipping?
Personally, I've always had good luck with Rakuten
