Looks nice. Wish they made it in 0.7mm.
They make the Kuru Toga Advanced in .7mm I own one and I love it. With this metal pencil you drop it on the tip and it will break. I personally Think the Advanced is a better pencil. My favorite pencil is the Uniball Kuru Toga Dive but that pencil sells for like 90 USD In Japan it sells for like 60 USD at one point they were so scarce it was selling for like 200 USD assuming you could get one.
@@eduardomaldonado1647 I also have an Advance in 0.7 and love it! I love lighter pencils/pens and this is the perfect combination of features and specs for me. Love the blue color i picked as well!
Got my hands on this too, couldn't resist. Pretty close to the perfect Kuru Toga pen for me. The click action could be better and the finish is a little smooth, but they're definitely moving in the right direction in my opinion. I think the KS engine is a big improvement, feels a lot more stable than the older one.
I actually wonder if the engine is recycled from the Kuru Toga KS. Would be really neat if you could just buy a KS and swap in the internals if you were to drop your KT Metal and bend the tip or something.

@@MattWithTheCat4541looks very much like the ks mechanism, which would make sense since they can make 2 pens with the same internals
Same inside components, they just made something to damp the pen during spring mechanism somehow@@unsharpen

I'm using the basic kuru toga about two years now for drawing and writing and it*s great, this metal version is very interesting! Very nice too!

This penci is beautiful, I really like it. I have a few normal Kuru Toga (the YELL edition, also from Amazon JP - not sure if that's limited or just regional), and a 0.3 Advance. I'd really like to try this one, as it looks interesting and I like a metal body in general.

Early in my career I punched a hole in the pocket of my favorite shirt with a drafting pencil. Retractable pipe is a must. Shaker pencils with a double knock are my current choice.
Great review ! This pencil misses a few key elements.
If this pencil had the advance engine and a lead sleeve it would be literally the best pencil for writing. Currently the pencil I use the most is the Kuru Toga Advance in 0.3mm. I also have an Advance Upgrade but somehow the grip is worse than the plastic one and 0.5mm is just too wide for me. Also have a Kuru Toga KS, I love the overall construction and grip, but the engine doesn't keep up with my writing as well as the advance one and I can't really use it with 2B lead because one click only lasts for like 30 seconds of writing.
I tend to agree. I love the body but the collapsible sleeve is a must for me

Is it grippier than orenz metal grip or orenz nero?
Can you kindly review sun-star nocfree and Muji abs Plastic pencil. I want to know how much of lead can be usable with nocfree and Muji abs Plastic pencil claims to use upto 1mm remaining of lead which is amazing. Sadly no new pencil are trying to solve this issue till now, although there were a few older models some of those went out of production while Pentel also have one model currently available in Amazon US Pentel store

Does it look like the entire mechanism can be removed easily? Wondering about fitting this into a custom metal body.

Silly question: why don’t they always provide a cap to this kind of pen? I always worry that the tip of the pen could be bent when I throw my notebook and pen into my bag
Good question. I honestly don’t know. Drafting pencils from the 70s and 80s used to include really nice caps but it’s quite rare now. The new Kura toga dive offers one but that’s about it.

Need sliding sleeve minimum, auto advance would be ideal less clicking the better. £5 Kuru Toga Pipe Slide better than this.
