Thank you for sharing this information!! It was exactly what I needed to figure out after an issue with a pressure foot part. My shaft had slipped and your video saved the day!

Hey Uwe, thanks for your insight; you have helped me adjust my Cobra class 4. One note on your walking foot link clamp that was conflicting with the end " that you had to grind down". On my machine; the screw clamp is on the LEFT side of the link and on your Cowboy machine; the clamp is on the RIGHT side of the link.

Thank you for this video, it's a useful and clear explanation.
It only works for one type of feet though :)
With a narrow outside foot on my CB4500 I set the foot according to the Juki engineers manual and adjusted it so the lift of both feet was equal.
On my machine with the needle bar height adjusted (your video on that is brilliant, BTW) and all the timings correct there is no way to get that linkage vertical with the narrow foot or double toe foot because they are shorter than the blanket feet so the block for the presser foot bar can't go down far enough.
I don't know why they don't make them all the same height, it's really irritating, but I think it's better to set this linkage based on foot position and walking height rather than linkage angle, because ultimately the linkage angle doesn't matter so long as everything moves freely and the feet lift evenly.
The reason for this is that the Cowboy feet aren't all the same height.
The machine works fine and stitches perfectly though.

Good afternoon! Tell me, on the Juki 1341 machine, with the needle and feet at zero position, how should the levers be positioned? You have them positioned vertically, but what about the Juki 1341? Thanks!

So this allows the back foot to raise higher when it's walking?

You can fine-tune the relative walking height of front and rear foot by purposely adjusting the linkage away from vertical. This is just the base adjustment to get machine to a working state.

Just a thought. Why couldn’t you just rotate the rear linkage 180 degrees so that the Side with the clamping screw is facing the back of the machine. That would have given you ample clearance on the other linkage and you wouldn’t need to grind anything.

That would work if the arm that extends down was centered on the bracket, but it is not. If you turn the bracket around, things won’t line up anymore with the other parts of the linkage.
