Hey Roanoke! Italian here, I can confirm that a road that goes through an abandoned military camp is not weird for our standards. At Cagliari for example, capital of Sardegna, there's a massive abandoned military camp, full of buildings and all, just left to rot there on the side of the main road of the city.
Yea, I think it is harder for Americans- not even just the United States, North and South Americans- to grasp just how many old military installations there are in the eastern hemisphere from all the large scale wars that took place there.
I think the monster was a genetic experiment by vampire bats to gain deeper understanding of us and an attempt at communication. The bats just didn't account for the greater hunger that the larger size would bring, so when the time came to make contact, the big hungry boi totally morbed the situation.
Amricans are truly their own worse enemy maybe you wouldn't have to "stay strapped if you psychos stopped all carrying guns like the rest of civilization. Terrorist would be smarter I'd they just chilled. America will kill itself

Bound to Happen Leon Lush has been warning is for years now it's a reality 🤣 that's been Proven. Loving the Content this is the best channel thank you for the Dedication.
Quick fun fact about vampire bats, it's not just different enzymes but their whole digestive tract is different. It sort of just goes straight through with their stomach basically being a pocket off to the side. their bodies kinda just dump blood through, let nutrients sit in the pocket, and through the rest out immediately. Which yes, means the bats are peeing quite a bit throughout the day due to how much they need to consume just to stay alive (literally their whole body weight since blood doesn't have much nutrients. daily.). I love vampire bats, messed up lil freaks they're great.
I think the military designed a monster so they could drop it off at an enemy base at night and let it run rampant. To avoid it attacking civilians, they made it so that it would be immobilised when day comes. That way they can send in a squad to easily take it out once the job is done.
The critter is wearing what appears to be tattered clothing when it's set on fire, so definitely on the "man-made man-bat" side of the discussion. Should take a look at the fantastic horror mocumentary The Tunnel some time.
The dramamine comment was so wildly out of pocket. Busted out laughing. And then he said 'and now I do that with my wife 😃' and I rolled off my bed laughing so hard.
Hahaha, same! I often put on Roanoke videos in the background while doing schoolwork, and I just burst out laughing at the wife bit. My professor gave me the most confused look lmao
Seeing that it was a Italian military base, I think the most "plausible" option is that the vampire is some sort of experimental soldier created by the nazy that occupied the northern part of Italy. The trees don't look like they are from that part of Italy tho XD
Occupied? You know Italy and Germany were allied Axis powers, right? Both being fascist dictatorships, with Italy actually being the birthplace of Fascism? Unless you mean the Operationszonen which existed from December 1943 to May 1945, or about a year and 5 months. These Operationzones were decided on in Fall Achse, which were to kick in if Italy was defeated or surrendered which happened in July 1943 when Mussolini was couped. Not nearly enough time for some supersoldier experiment to be set up, run trials etc. before the Red Army finished them off.
@@guccipucci3941 Ik, but seeing it's a northern part of Italy, after Italy betrayed Germany, the Nazis occupied it. Yes they were allied with Mussolini, but Italy was under Mussolini anymore... At least from Rome down.
@@guccipucci3941 oh. RUclips hid the second part of the message, rip... I meant that it could have been a Nazi experiment conducted in Italian soil. I agree that the time from the fall of Mussolini to the end of the war wasn't enough, and it should have been a project started with the aid (even if little as we sucked at that time) of Italians. As Nazis are quite famous for their "scientific" experiments, and Hitler was basically a believer of anything paranormal, I would say that the bat hybrid here is just one of the last attempts which have been made, presumably with much more done in Nazi's grounds. Maybe the fact that Mussolini didn't outright kill all Jews like Hitler asked, could play in this film as the "non-arian" people being used as lab rats also in Italian soil.
Ending Explained is an awesome recap channel. Nothing wrong with being compared to them. They actually have great taste, I think at least. At least you add a bit of science to your videos.

It's possible that the manbat uses a form of electromagnetic frequency in place of echolocation, changing its frequency on the EMF spectrum to affect electronics. This would explain everything from disrupting power, static on the radio, and even the hallucination.
@RandallBesch It does and the military does. It uses EMF in communications, surveillance, and offensive and defensive countermeasures. For example a Jammer will flood the area with a wide spectrum EMF knocking out radar, cell signals, radio waves, internet, and even targeting sytems.

The creatures aren't really explained too much in depth. They talk about trying do disarm him but have to wait for the right moment. The number of times that he had his back turned to them in JUST this video alone gave them plenty of right moments. They had him significantly outnumbered and easily could have restrained him if not just lowered the population of crazy town by one. I get that fear is a pretty major influence on behavior but damn.

Dude. I love your videos. You make my shifts that much better! I was also wondering if you would take a look at the vex from destiny 2. They are pretty interesting.
I've lived near Fort Ord in Marina CA my whole life and it was closed in '94. They left a bunch of abandoned buildings with the power still on, probably for the security that watches that area. They also used some of the abandoned buildings as a storage facility, you could pay them and store your stuff there. And from certain areas you have to drive through all those derelict, abandoned buildings to get to csumb, the local college. So I guess it's not that uncommon for military bases to be right in the middle of populated areas.
Believe me, this is how British monster movies are like (most of the time). Hardly any origin for the featured monsters (or at all) and always making the audience guess as to what they are.
I love Ending Explain, but last time I checked, he doesn’t provide science for us. So yeah, Broanoke is still the 🐐 For the riddle, I’m gonna guess, and say it’s Courage.

Once again Roanoke gaming, I humbly request you look into the glyphid swarm from deep rock galactic. Along with the other wildlife encountered in the game. Rock and stone.
Got to get this movie on DVD. The radio sensitivity is part of the echo location, because like dogs, bats can hear and interpret frequencies that humans can't pick up. As for the psychic overload it could be in part of genetic fluke, as said before bats can hear frequencies that humans can't hear, they can probably produce frequencies that can effect humans. Like such as Mirekings in Fallot 3, only rather than strength class it is group effort like humans. There is also this conspiracy theory of controlling a human populace with radio waves, something to look into for Roanoke Tales.
"and he appears to have been bled out quite quickly, in a short amount of time" Yeah... I'm pretty sure quickly means the same thing as "in a short amount of time" 😂

Hey Roanke question from your last video, do you have a link to the study about the test where people thought about a specific number which caused the quantum number generator to make that number appear more often? I brought it up to friends and they wanted to see the study for themselves.
While i think thr compliment "roanoke put more thought in it than the writers" is well deserved, i think honestly his work is best described as cleverly picking up what the writers do. Its easy now looking back to see the idea of "kids stumble upon an abandoned military facility where experiments gone wrong unleashed a bat monster". What he analyzes always makes sense because while movie makers cant soell everything out that ppl do come across information and use it. Often that information is inaccurate, but you dont have to be an expert to put science into your monsters. Im sure many of these movies were made by someone who read about a creepy zombie fungus or how vamp bats can live off blood and extrapolated creepyness
18:15 aside from not appearing bloated, it does seem to fit the original description of vampires, "They wore shrouds and were often described as bloated and of ruddy or dark countenance". Yes, ending explained is pretty good. Also, Nerd Explains does something similar to you and it is pretty funny. You are my favorite though!
“Pizza cutter” is a new insult that I’m going use whenever I get the chance
It just makes me hungry... Is it my fault Pizza is the best food ever?
Roanoke out here with the real life advice thank you for being the crazy dooms day, uncle, I never had plus love your vid’s
The Dooms Day Uncle lmao
They talk about trying do disarm him but have to wait for the right moment. The number of times that he had his back turned to them in JUST this video alone gave them plenty of right moments. They had him significantly outnumbered and easily could have restrained him if not just lowered the population of crazy town by one. I get that fear is a pretty major influence on behavior but damn.
Wish we had another Roanoke to do movie recaps, to "see" more movies more often, and save myself even more time!
Foundflix, dead meat
Be nice@@crownedking_cj8890
Roanoke + Ending Explained collab not having already happened is a crime against humanity.
It's always great listening to roanokes different ways about sending threatening people to meet God. By the way roanoke, if you ever get bored you should at more weird movies like Frankensteins army or cell, I think you reaction would probably be the funniest thing
“Being a pizza cutter; all edge no point”
Brilliant! I’m stealing that!
I drive a motorcycle, so while I lack that nice metal cage you mentioned, I do have one hell of a defense mechanism known as “when in doubt accelerate”
The loud music playing over this movie the whole time drove me nuts
So yeah, Broanoke is still the 🐐
For the riddle, I’m gonna guess, and say it’s Courage.
@RubyKing1997what was your guess, if I may be curious?
@RubyKing1997 i thought Solomon, like King Solomon but it didn't make sense haha. i didn't see how it fit with the riddle, don't really see how Lucifer fits either though
*clears throat*......
CARRY ON MY WAYWARD SON!!! THERE'LL BE PEACE WHEN YOU ARE DONE!
Roanoke I know you normally do horror movies but I would love to see a video from you on the genetics of the avatars from avatar and the interconnected ecosystem in that movie
12:23 the eyes are regular human size, it's just that they are completely black so you can't tell what size the pupils are.
Once again Roanoke gaming, I humbly request you look into the glyphid swarm from deep rock galactic. Along with the other wildlife encountered in the game. Rock and stone.
Rock and Stone
For Karl!
"and he appears to have been bled out quite quickly, in a short amount of time"
Yeah... I'm pretty sure quickly means the same thing as "in a short amount of time" 😂
For the riddle pretty sure it's nothing physical so it's got to be something like courage or bravery. On a side note I'll be at Pax again this year I'm really hoping to run into you, maybe get a picture and an autograph would be awesome. Keep up the amazing content.
My first thought was courage too so.
@@gregorybower2759 I won't lie, I had to listen to the riddle 10 times before I could come up with that guess.
I came up with courage too the line virtue and nobility are nothing without fear, and courage is acting in the face of fear.
@@troesler81 yeah, that's what I came with too.
@ducttapeman3743 it was the storm (you can't fight a storm so it couldn't have been something physical) and the ahha was without fear I'm nothing.
Awesome video dude! I hope the next one is for the tardigrade monster from harbinger down!
That could be fun. Not often you get a movie made because the practical Effects team got screwed over on another movie.
As someone who also watches ending explained - I'm subscribed to both this and that channel. They both provide content that can be categorised similarly, but your focus on the biology and science behind the horror is why I love watching this channel. Keep doing what you're doing ❤️
Amen to that!
Love your videos as always, though the audio of this one seems different. The sound at 11:59, is one you'd use as like a shocking reveal but it's used about 2 times every minute throughout this video in a way that is kind of disjointing, imo. Very different from your normal background audio.
Sorry to say modern night vision doesn’t blind you like in the movies. Most if not all modern nods have autogating which adjusts to the light.
But it does blind giant eyeballs meant to take as much light as possible, which is the comparison being made. Man..organic eyeballs suck.
The iPhone notification sound @ 12:39 got me I thought my phone went off cause I’m watching on the tv lmao also at 23:29 and 28:09 it’s very faint here LMAOO
I cant believe they mistaken you as ending explain, even tho both of you guys do have similar content styles.
I was thinking the creature was more like a spider, mixed with a bat and human!
I’m gonna start using gene splicing as a joke threat against my friends like “dude I’m literally gonna splice your genes”
Edit: oh dude I hope you have fun in Seattle
Zona militare is Italian for military zone. So, this must be a British school's trip or something. Also, it couldn't be the UK because of the driver seat, right?
0:56 real, I cannot tell you the level of anxiety stepping outside my vehicle at night without a weapon, those mountain lions will have to work for their meal
I love Ending Explained. He just has so much passion for horror movies. I found both these channels around the same time and they both have good takes on movies.
Roanoke thank you for another great video! Side note 4:07 I get it that shit made my day thanks.
Hey Roanke question from your last video, do you have a link to the study about the test where people thought about a specific number which caused the quantum number generator to make that number appear more often?
I brought it up to friends and they wanted to see the study for themselves.
That sounds like the rather controversial Global Consciousness Project
Roanoke telling people to stay strapped and beat wholesale ass…
You sir are now officially one of my favorite RUclipsrs
To all viewers: would you rather be attacked by the creature in Shortcut or bodyslammed by a naked Roanoke?
Body slammed. Lol no homo
I'm sorry for your loss (for having to go to Seattle)
Reggie was clearly having a panic attack, not being attacked telepathically.
No theories allowed!
most recent solar eclipse, i made the same mistake while it was partial i came inside and my vision was messed up for a half hour or so
Fellow Georgian and 2A supporter, been enjoying your videos for awhile. Loved the PSR clip you used XD.
“Breaking Benjamin that dude, and blow him away” is my new favorite Roanoke Quote
Although its apparent age could be a factor in it not being bloated? Or maybe even just due to the 'possible origin' you talk about
"Pizza cutter: all edge, no point" is absolutely going into my vernacular.
