I stumbled upon these videos when I was looking for some tutorial on photography. From then on, I've been on a marathon watching these events videos. They are so inspirational and for someone who loves landscape photography, I think this video is the best of the lot. Thank you so much B&H and for sharing these wonderful presentations with the world!!
I watched all the B&H seminars here on youtube, and Michael Melford's seminars happen to be the best. I have learned a lot from him, he is a real inspiration. Oh, and I have also stopped whining about my 24-105 lens.
Michael Melford got in my top 5 photographers I like most when I first saw an interview with him on National Geographic website. Now, again, makes me add him to my short list and start obsessing again about his view on photography and techniques and everything he knows and shares. Thank you Michael Melford!
I've learned a lot of knowledges and inspiring visuals about photography through this video! Actually, I was hungry and tired, but I just can't stop watching till the end! One of most fantastic photographer I've seen till now! Thank you, Michael Melford and B&H!
Absolutely brilliant presentation which had everything in it. Most enjoyable and the time just flew past. The presenter was first rate, very knowledgeable with a good sense of humo. Thank you so much for putting this together and letting us enjoy it for free.
@Ian Downey Thank you for watching the B&H Photo RUclips Channel and for your participation. We are very pleased that you derive value from and find our presentations useful and informative.
This was an amazing presentation that is enjoyable on many levels. As a hobbyist photographer, I find the the presentation informative and inspiring. As a person who loves to travel, the presentation reveals many desirable travel destinations. And Mr Melford's delivery is relaxed and fun.
@Reuben1024 Thank you for watching the B&H Photo RUclips Channel and for your participation. We are very pleased that you derive value from and find our presentations useful and informative.
If this video does not inspire you to grab your camera and travel to a unique location vary early or late in the day...Wow! Michael's work is absolutely incredible and above that he's a very good presenter...Very compassionate and purposeful. Thank you B&H for sharing with us Michael's presentation and all of your informative and inspirational presentations.
@allison northway Thank you for watching the B&H Photo RUclips Channel and for your participation. We are very pleased that you derive value from and find our presentations useful and informative.

Great video and I will be tracking this Bristol Bay issue - thanks Michael and B&H. When you look up at the milky way at night and realize how precious our planet is, we have to defend the longevity of the planet.
A superb speaker with truly inspirational images; all covered in a very clear and accessible manner, I have watched a number of the B& H event space videos and love them. Keep them coming! - I have rarely if ever not learnt something or been inspired by them.
Awesome talk and photos. I am not really a landscape shooter but do shoot one or two occasionally but found this to be an excellent resource. Thank you for the inspiration.
Please keep adding more and more B&H :). And do keep posting the audience's questions with text below or make the speaker repeat them. Please and Thank you :)!
Learn from these photographer, national geography veterans. Every single one of them is rock in their own styles. Not a single of them use bokeh technique, yet composition, content and techniques are key for stunning photos.
Nice but it's a sort of frustrating to listen to a photographer who has his own airoplane! I fall in love with simple and "people" photographers. Nice photos though even if I had to stop after I heared about your own airoplane.
Kag Tim He doesn't have his own aeroplane. He has a flying license, so he's a pilot, and can rent a plane. Even so, you can usually charter a small plane AND a pilot for about 100 USD per hour, so in theory you can do the exact same thing. Its not like this guy is flying around in a Learjet shooting out of the windows while he's buzzing on expensive champagne.
+Dennis Skyum Good answer mate. And remember that if people want to take great landscape pictures then they have to go to great landscape locations - Everest and The Grand Canyon aren't in everyone's back gardens. In saying that, I live in the north of England and even though I'm luckily enough to be surrounded by the Lake District, the Yorkshire moors, Wales and Scotland - I still have to make a 300-600 mile round trip for a single days location! It's all about how committed you are to your photography. The great thing about Street and Urban photography is that it IS literally on your doorstep - sweeping landscapes usually are not. Last point. You can hire a plane and pilot for under £100 around here in the UK. Nuff said.
omg b&h where do you find these people??? What a completely clueless comment about polarizers making rainbows disappear. This guy ever used a polarizer? Yes you can rotate it and make the rainbow disappear but can also keep rotating and make it look even more intense.

If you really want to learn photography this is the place to go
I had to pause the video several times to stare at the images in awe. Some of them are mindbogglingly surreal.

The photo of the Amish girls is amazing. Inspring presentation.
That was Amazing
This guy is the real thing--pay attention!
Well done ma auld son, loved it.
Seems like Mike studied quite a bit of geology and biology before becoming a photographer. Good he found his nack fer Geo stories. Very engaging.
Polarizers don't line up light. Surfaces line up the light. The polarizer rejects the light that hasn't been lined up
after he mentioned his left arm is longer than his right by 3 inches, i start to feel uneasy whenever he raises or lift his arms.
@19:08 Isnt that child labor? Great video tho! very educative.
Sweet. Cheers.
Amazing photographer. No wonder he works for Nat geo
moral of the story.... even if a dude is goofy looking he might actually know how to take a picture.
45:39 Wow, he really have to work on his editing skills...
While I enjoy allison's comments.. BHP your contribution is cold and pretty cookie-cutter in nature. Get real please. Thanks

Polarizers can also make reflections in water much better.
Our pleasure. Glad you enjoy them and thanks for watching.
