  • ▶︎▶︎ Lewis Hamilton has won the 104th race in his career and the first one after Jeddah in 2021, however, now that Mercedes are on the rise with the most points scored in the past couple of races, even with Russell’s DNF, it’s worth noting that this is the last season of the 7-time world champion in the team. With this decision being made before he even tested the car, let alone be aware of the upgrades that are possible in terms of turning their luck around, could Hamilton regret his move to Ferrari, seeing where the Maranello team ended their mid-season development war at?

Hamilton to Ferrari in 2025, is this still the right choice after what we've seen during the British GP? Or will the 2026 regulations play a crucial role in Hamilton's choice considering he probably has the knowledge of both Mercedes & Ferrari's data for the 2026 season? Let us know in the comments!👀

Nobody knows who's going to be 'top dog' in 2026 so it's pointless going down that particular cul-de-sac.
What we do know is Ferrari are going backwards and still have awful race management. I have no idea why successful drivers feel the need to go to the Italian retirement home but Seb Vettel could tell you how his legacy was destroyed there if you get him to one side. It's Leclerc team anyway but we all know that Ferrari only considers their drivers a tool get a Ferrari win. Lewis is better than that and I fear the Italian team around him will be nothing like the British one he has right now with Bono in his ear and James Alison designing the new car.
Like Senna is McLaren, no matter what happens, Lewis will always be considered to be team Mercedes.
Unless he can reverse the decision, I fear these are the last victories for Lewis. Enjoy them while you can.

I swear Formula 1 fans and reporters are the worst. As soon as one good or bad thing happens, everyone starts talking as if that is the ongoing trajectory of the team or driver. Yes Lewis won this time but its not like they had 5 races in a row where they kept winning to assume he will consider regretting moving to Ferrari over just one single win. Same when someone gets a good position for qualifying "Oh Ricciard is back bla bla....5 laps later on a Sunday guy is dead last". Racer botches one race, "oh maybe they will cut him". Only in F1 is everything so black and white and instant, its laughable.

He can help with the car, with strategy… everything. It’s a good move for Ferrari. And no matter what happens, Hamilton gets to fulfill a lifetime dream. You need to realize that there is Lewis Hamilton brand behing him! He did everything what he could for himself with Mercedes! EVERYTHING is because of money and recognition of his brand. If he wins a WDC it’s additional + for him, if not it is still only a + for his brand 😉

I dont understand how people dont see that mercedes was always not planning on signing lewis for '26. Hence the 1+1. Antonelli is the plan for 26. Lewis had to ensure his future, so when Ferrari came knocking and Merc, not wanting to give him the contract that he wanted as well as denying him the request for an ambassadrial role, you can understand why he took the contract with Ferrari. Im sure it was a hard made decision, but in retrospect, the only one he could make to be in control of his future. Imagine getting halway through the 25 season and Merc ( after giving Russell the best car that they can and maybe not warming Lewis' tyres optimally) telling Lewis that they're not renewing his contract, as Russell is beating him and he seems to be past his sellby date...
I think thats why Toto was so upset as well, because Merc was caught at their own game. And as he said he didn't have time to speak to sponsors to do damge control

Sorry but stating that Merc won the last 2 races due to the merit of their car is false. Russel only won because Crashstapen cheated once again and took out Norris breaking the rule which was brought in because of him after 2021 due to him turning F1 in to stock car racing. Russel was 15 seconds behind 1st and 2nd at the time so nowhere near winning the race. Granted Hamilton won due to the car performance but also his Tyre management but it’s a 1 off win for now not a rise of Merc back to the top. Ferrari do need to get their shit together for sure. All that history, money and prestige but still cannot design a competitive car. I think Hamilton only signed for Ferrari to have driven for Ferrari with its history in the sport, plus the huge contract keeping him as the highest paid driver on the grid by a mile. Senna always wanted to finish up at Ferrari.

Ferrari has always been a choke team. That's been going on forever! I think there's something in Italian culture that stifles information sharing and learning. That won't be going away anytime soon. Just look how bad their strategy decisions have been with Leclare. Hamilton IS going to experience that first hand. But perhaps just checking off a box of being a Ferrari driver is the main goal. Hamilton still has his reflexes, at least this year. I think he'll stay sharp another 3 years, so Mercedes might be making a mistake in parting ways with Hamilton. George is fast, but he's a punk and REALLY not enjoyable to listen to. I will enjoy seeing Hamilton driving the prancing ponies, just something cool about that! And Verstappen with his punk daddy will keep himself in a fast car. But if you get Max, you get Jos, and he's a team cancer. F-1 is certainly, not without its drama, which seems unnecessary and counter productive.

I’ve been thinking the exact same thing when it was announced that Hamilton was joining Ferrari, nothing good will come from his signing. Ferrari is plagued with terrible decisions and doubtful upgrade paths. I don’t see that changing soon. Ferrari has also had some good luck with some teams having DNFs and bad finishes if not they would be scoring even lower in the WCC. Also, Leclerc is having a terrible season and that isn’t going to change especially with so many people leaving Ferrari’s technical department. Mercedes keeps improving and McLaren is on a tear while Ferrari continues to disappoint.

Hamilton already regrets his move to Ferrari because everything could have working on his timing.
He would have plenty of time through the 2024 season to judge the progress of the Mercedes and decide to activate or not his optionnal 2025 season in his contract with Mercedes.
Ferrari would have no choice but to wait for Hamilton's decision.
But no he decided to throw everything away like a child before the 2024 season even started and sign for Ferrari too early.
Now that Mercedes finally fixed their car it's the moment when Red Bull really started shaking and feeling that the end of their domination is near.
Red Bull knows that the only team that has seriously what it takes to beat them is Mercedes as they've crushed them for 8 consecutive years.
2021 Hamilton will always be the greatest threat ever to a Max Verstappen World Championship, not a 2022 Leclerc or a 2024 Norris keep that in mind.
Now that Ferrari comes back the mess that it used to be and especially if Newey doesn't come as he choses to go for a team based in UK based.
Hamilton should know where he goes as he could have the biggest regret of his career.

Let's not pretend that Mercedes has fixed the leak because that is just nonsense. If Norris and Max didn't meet each other, Mercedes wouldn't have won and if Max wasn't so slow in the beginning and had 1 or 2 extra laps, Mercedes wouldn't have won this race either. But one thing I know for sure is that the switch from Hamilton to Ferrari will be a big flop if we see Mercedes running now and the Ferraris only falling further behind.

if Ferrari can't produce a dominant car like Mercedes did in the past, Hamilton will not have what it takes to change their fortunes. This was demonstrated at Mercedes when they were floundering, Hamilton also floundered and was consistently outperformed by Russel, but for some reason people aren't allowed to point that out (that is worth a discussion in it self). So let's see how this plays out. Will Hamilton go the was or Vettel ?

lol "constantly outperformed by russell" did you not watch last season? and obviously, merc's priority and first driver this year is russell, because lewis is leaving and they need to show the sponsors that they are worthy team to invest in even without lewis.... there were also talks of some weird situations that did impact lewis's races (cold tyres, bad strats) as well as him suddenly almost always being down 0.2s in q3. lewis is the type of driver, where if he has a chance of winning - 90% of the time, he will. you are comparing a 104 races winner to a 2 time race winner (for which both were not on his merit). and don't forget that lewis was the one that experimented with the car the last 2 and a half years, worked on helping the team develop it and did all kinds of different set ups (that hurt his races) just so that he could better the car for the team - and this was said by both lewis and people at merc. now that the car is slightly getting better - be grateful, because big part of that is lewis's involvement and readiness to sacrifice his performance and race for the team. also, lewis and ferrari will work well - just based off of all the information coming from maranello and the respect shown to lewis, i know that he will be supported. as he is experienced driver, he will be able to stop bad strat calls (like he did in silverstone now where merc wanted to put him on inters and he said nope). even if he doesnt win a championship - he will be successful there

Yet another sore-ass. excuse to dismiss Hamilton's credentials other than driving... When his Ferrari move was announced, many said they made a mistake and Hamilton was passed it. Now he has won a race convincingly and the twisting of circumstances to maintain the negative digs is at the fore once more with some creativity.. anything to make his move into a negative.. laughable. Mercedes' fortunes turned around after many many months of NOT listening to Hamilton about the direction of the car but instead having Russell in front of the cameras saying how comfortable he feels in the car etc, they then brought Alinson back to spearhead the design and technical bits after a falling out between Hamilton and the demoted and then departed Mike Elliott... Alison finally listened to the feedback from Hamilton and the rest is history... Keep spinning a different yarn he will and is taking this knowledge to Ferrari and they will listen to him they paid a lot of money not to...

There are just people in this world that can never be stopped, Lewis is one of them, I say this in Hinde side not knowing what lies ahead. The attitude Lewis has gives him power that is bigger than Him, it is power from God in Heaven and I will not be surprised if the fortunes at Scuderia Ferrari where waiting for him to Change. By all standards, SF was a great career decision and I strongly believe he doesn’t regret this decision.
Moreover, Mercedes was not interested in Lewis services, according to Toto, George was the plan and Antonelli. I can actually affirm that the relationship is sower between them. You can confirm this by how bono reacted to Lewis win, you can tell the relief, the joy and Happiness the emotions men that gave me goosebumps. When it came to Toto he was marketing to Max about the trajectory showing, not even congratulations to Lewis nothing.
In the post race interview, Lewis was asked if he will in future be a part of Mercedes, and his was was a beautiful story of him and Mercedes since he was 13years old, that was all there was there was no mention of him reuniting with Mercedes, that time is long gone and ended in disrespect by the team he literally built.
The New Chapter is Scuderia Ferrari and we the funs have seen the best of Him and we will celebrate this incredible Legend who has blessed formula 1. Salute you Sr Lewis Hamilton you are the Man.
