Otsukare Chris! Do you think you can cook a Japanese breakfast? 🐟
Probably not, but no better than I can! 😂 I’ve been here just as long as Chris too… So much for British lads!
Easily.
Just stick to Family Mart fried chicken, Chris.
The rolling of the omelet is probably the hardest bit. The rest is easy to do 😏
Yasssss..... More Abroad in A Pan, pleaseeeee.....
BEST CHEF EVER
Certainly the most confident 😂
Abroad in a pan is a challenging format. How about cooking things which support your goal to get the fittest?
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Most Affable chef ever
ikr
"Abroad in a Pan" needs to be a recurring series. The fans demand it!
featuring Ryotaro.
@@paha4209 you enjoy chaos.
And so do I.
@@freedomhardly Sure i do. Also there are tons of items in a Kitchen which Ryotaro can use to kill Chris. In all seriousness i really think a show where Ryotaro tries to teach Chris how to cook but Chris being completly inapt would be hilarious.
From the pan and into the 🔥 🔥 🔥
agreed!
My face, when Chris started to stir the Miso with a stainless steel spoon and cutting the seaweed IN the pan. 😧Big yes to more Abroad In A Pan! 🌸
Looked like it was a ceramic coating, so not a problem :)
@@Duspende even if it was ceramic, the fear of god and my mothers wrath hit me when he did this
ye i died inside. she probably did to cause its her stuff hes destroying x'D
she gonna watch it later probably. and hes gonna get yelld at :D
when Julian brought in the spatula I was so relieved, then he starts cutting the seaweed in it AAAAA
There are very few things that make me actually physically cringe, but cutlery in a pan is absolutely one of those things.
Just get the man a wooden spoon.
chris slowly and tentatively becoming a cat dad is the best thing 😂
Isn't he allergic?
@@CavemanSynthesizer mildly allergic I believe. I’m mildly allergic too and I adopted a stray cat and I’m totally okay living with her 🧡
RIP Sharla's non-stick cookware.
🤣
That shit should be trashed anyway! The lining is highly toxic. Cast iron ftw!
@@ShiroiTengu If you scratch off the lining and eat the flakes or heat the non-stick cookware way beyond any temperature used in normal cooking, sure it's not healthy.
But anyone who's not an idiot should know not to scrape off stuff from the pots/pans and eat it.
@@hk74654 Teflon leeches into whatever you're cooking no matter what temperature. And even more so if you're cooking with acidic ingredients.
@@ShiroiTengu Non-stick cookware hasn't used Teflon in many years.
Chris and Sharla finally went public and Tokyo Creative shouted "IT'S CONTENT TIME BABY"
Time to milk this cash cow!
It do be true
@@chisol3508 Cow is right
@@dustyoldhat oh hell nah
Yup. Everything is content to be exploited.
The best part of this is that it actually made me feel semi-competent in the kitchen by comparison.
That’s not saying much 😂
I was screaming when he just about to put all those seaweed in the soup. You're supposed to soak it in water for at least 2 hours or wash it thoroughly under running water. They use salt to preserve the seaweed's texture. Of course the soup tastes like sea water based on the way you cooked it 🤣
There are so many criminal acts in this but using a metal utensil on the metal pan really takes the gold 😂😭
Asian ancestors crying~😂
I was like something sounds wrong then i saw mr. Affable using a spoon on the cookware.
One of many. 😢
An army of grandmas are preparing a slipper attack as we speak
Omg did heee! Noooo😂😭😭
I want to see a cooking training arc for Chris after which he makes Sharla the 5 star homecooked meal she deserves for putting up with his antics, haha.
And in the end he opens up a real Ramen shop out of his studio
when tournament arc?
Some live action food wars vibes, get the guys that make fast food adds involved (like the slow mo drops of the ingredients falling into the burger etc) and I recon we’re onto a winner!
The final tournament arc has him and Trash taste cooking for Sharla in a real restaurant.
Chris cooking and trying to level up his skills in the kitchen would be interesting to watch. Sharla shouldn't have to suffer all the time, so make the Trash Taste Boys try his meals. Or have him and Connor compete. : D
Hahahaha Sharla asking Chris to boil water and he couldn't even do that. Lord I need more abroad in a pan to continue ahahha
Also: yes, more Abroad in a pan please 😂
Take Chris, Natsuki, Connor and the other boys, make them do a cooking course and compete against each other.
Make them all do a competition against Jun
Would love more episodes of Abroad in a Pan
Have Chris cook for Emma, the Trash Taste Boys, Risottoro, Natsuki, Norm, etc. on separate episodes-Chris having to cook their food requests.
Or have him go on a cooking journey(Across Japan) for the full affable culinary experience.
This needs to be at the top.
Both of these ideas are excellent, and I now crave to watch them become reality.
Particularly "Journey Across A Pan" sounds fantastic.
Yes, and have Ryosuke as his cooking senpai giving advice.
It’d be interesting to see if he gets any better at it!
What about fried chicken??
"Have you tasted it?" "Not recently." 😂😂😂
Poor Sharla! I'm not even a good cook but I laughed and winced through that whole video. TC - please send him on a proper cooking course, I would definitely watch that!
YES, let's watch him try to take a proper, in-person cooking course! That would be hilarious!
no this way more entertaining...maybe not for Sharla 🤣
Well, if he never sticks to the recipe, then, the cooking course won t do him any good.
Ya, I'm not even that great of a cook either, but I was cringing seeing Chris do so many amateur mistakes. Like when he didn't wait for the electric stove to heat up. Unlike a gas stove, you need to give an electric stove a minute to warm up before you use it. So he was cooking eggs on a stove that had inconsistent heat. Or how he was scraping metal utensils across the bottom of the pan. I hope he bought Sharla new pans after that, because scraping metal on the pans is how you destroy them.
Get a chef to teach Chris base cooking techniques and at the end, have him surprise Sharla with a proper dinner! It would be so fun to watch!
Jun from Rachel and Jun does cooking. He could give Chris lessons.
@@dche64 YES that would be epic!
We need more of "Abroad in a Pan". Seeing Chris suffer so much through the process of cooking & justifying everything is freaking hilarious.
Clearly Sharla is the chef in their relationship 😂 A valient effort was made however! Definitely would love to see more Abroad in a Pan!
No.... she's the blower
Yeah? Lets see HER cook then. We’ll wait…
Does not have to, they have more then enough money to never need to make their own food.
Sharla, "Well, those are the cat's bowl's!" Lmao!!!!😂🤣😆
😂
They’re so pretty tho
@@zellafae I was going to comment about that, can't really blame him, they're really pretty flower bowls 😂
Howling
cats' bowls
Chris looks surprised when Sharla complimented the eggs 🤣
Me yelling: "rice! Start the rice!"
Oh, he used some instant rice 😐😂
With everyone asking for more Abroad in a Pan videos, can Tokyo Creative provide some stunt double non-stick pans? The spoon scratching it part was😳
Hello cats ‘meow meow meow’ is my favorite line
When I saw this man pull out fresh seaweed out of a bag and straight into the pot I already knew it was gonna be salt city 🤣🤣
Sharla's face when she tried the Miso was incredible.
Absolutely want more Abroad in a PAN! Chris's overconfident cooking and Sharla's uncomfortable reaction to the results is gold.
I'd actually like to see more AbroadinaPan but maybe Sharla can teach Chris how to cook and they do it side by side and compare the finished dish afterwards.
Well that's just bullying Chris
I love Sharla’s face was a mix of concern and disgust. And Chris hasn’t even started cooking. 😂
Yes please to more videos like these ☺ could also be fun to see a cook-off between Chris, Natsuki and Ryotaro where Sharla samples the food 😄
we want sharla alive
Actually, I can imagine Ryotaro being a decent cook.
Hahah yes
This is great! I would love to see Chris on a cooking journy across Japan, in which he learns to cook new dishes from different prefectures. But perhaps a cooking course first, to support the healthy life style he's trying to adopt.
that is abrilliant idea I would love to watch that !!!Doesn't riotoro have a restaurant the cafe owned by Ken watanabe !!!!
I would love to see Chris continue an Abroad in a Pan series. Watching him stumble and bumble his way from pure muppetry to halfway decent home cook is a journey I'm excited for!
"The Egg taste good. You did a good job flavouring em" Chris: "Yeah? I mean YEAH of course i did" 😂
Watching Chris trying to get maru(?) of the table was absolutely hilarious. You can just see that he's holding himself back from pushing the cat off the table because the camera is there lmfao.
Sharla reacting to the miso soup has to be the funniest thing I’ve seen all week 😂😂
💀
My goodness Sharla you must have the patience of a saint. I sincerely hope he cleaned it all up after!
As someone who dislikes cooking, "couldn't cook if my life depended on it" according to my ex (but am somehow still alive) and sometimes accidentally managed to produce something edible I can totally relate to Chris. Kudus for taking up the challenge though!
I'll be honest, at 14:14 when Chris was getting the cat of the table, the other cat walked past the door way at the same time and I thought it was a mirror.😂
there needs to be more episodes of this untill chris can cook basic dishes hahaha
I like this idea lol
Let’s hope he doesn’t literally cook the dishes (plates) themselves 😂
Watching Chris cook is like watching a train derailment in that you can’t just turn away. If Chris can be disciplined and cut weight he can use that same discipline to become a passable cook. What a partner Sharla is to stomach his attempts. Lets see Chris try Okonomiyaki next.
Unfortunalty for Sharla (and bless her for going along with it at all, once) this is hilarious 😂😂
I would love for more of this!
Out of all everything there is to do in japan, watching Chris do groceries was the one I expected the least😂
Chris buying food seems very logic to me 😉
@@HeavenlyCreature. he just goes to familymart and mcdonalds to get his daily quota of fried chicken 😅
Oh, I most DEFINITELY want to see more episodes of Abroad in a Pan. We can have Chris learn separate dishes by cooking for each person on Tokyo Creative (Emma, Sarah, Aki, etc) for individual videos. Then finish the video series with Chris using what he's learned to cook a big meal for everyone (perhaps with a guest chef to help)! It will be the GREATEST RUclips COOKING SHOW EVER!!
More abroad in a pan! This is true entertainment. Also I died inside when Chris used metal scissors on a non stick pan, amongst other war crimes.
I wish we could've seen Sharla's live reaction to his cooking 😭
Watching Chris Cook is one of the most cursed yet entertaining content that i have ever seen
YES! Finally the debut of Abroad in a Pan we have all been waiting for!
We got Abroad in A Pan last year for White Day though! When Chris made his chocolate abominations
@@ShiroiTengu I think my mind has erased that for its own sanity.
9:00 oh dear god, Chris is just scraping the non-stick pan with a metal spoon
Chris scraping the shit out of that poor pan with metal 😂
Chris and Sharla videos are so comforting
I never knew Sharla eats eggs. Chris is becoming a husband material being health conscious , learning cooking, getting used to cats 😂
She was vegetarian then vegan. I think she went back to being a vegetarian. It's much harder to be vegan in Japan than vegetarian. Or she is still vegan but ate the food for Chris and the video
Sharla mentioned in her recent Q&A video that she grew up mostly vegetarian and for a bit was a strict vegan, but it caused trouble with work and making videos with local governments since being vegan is not as commonplace in Japan so now she's closer to vegetarian
Chris probably unintentionally fed her so many animal products that she just surrendered "what a fish is an animal!?"
@@velvetsrose Vegans are more likely to have thyroid issues espeically if they don't supplement properly so that's probably why she wanted to start incorporating more animal products
chris's level of entertainment value is unreal between his sarcasm and lack of empathy for anything that isnt a woman or animal - its viewership gold
I have been asking Chris to do 'Abroad In A Pan' for ages.
He can't stop now.
Next stop Omurice!
Seeing Chris & Sharla’s domestic bliss makes me so happy. You guys are so cute ^^ I’ve been following Sharla for years and discovered Chris’s channel and podcast last year and you’ve made my days so much more fun and interesting. Thank your for your hard work and great content ❤
more episodes please. i like when you told him it would be bad and why it was bad. and Chris responded with "lesson for next time" and didnt fix it there and then. also not doing the dishes or putting away the drying ones first. legend
Omg we need more of this!!!!
We need a series of this
Sharla and Chris could morph "Abroad in a Pan" into a mini-series where Sharla teaches Chris how to identify common kitchen devices, like tablespoons, cat dishes, etc. and then moves on to teaching Chris how not to add seaweed? ;-)
At least Chris tried to make it look presentable. Likely chose the cat bowls since they have a nice sakura flower shape to them :P Also pretty sure those cho[sticks Chris used were from the Sakuraco box from a few months ago xD
I NEED MORE! Thanks for the laughs, you two! 😂
This was great! More please!
chris happy and sharla looking grossed out is the best thing ever!!!
I’d like to see more Abroad in a Pan.
I’d like to see him make an actually edible dinner at least once. 😂
10:28 Cooking tip: put things away as you use each ingredient, saves space on the counter.
MORE!!!
Sharla and Chris seem to be very talented when it comes to cooking. We all hope to see more of their recipes unfold.
Calling Chris a talented cook is going a bit too far 😊
not sure if you want to praise Chris or insult Sharla
Goodness gracious, when was this recorded? Chris is looking great! He's also getting muscular, look at those biceps and shoulders!
-----
2:52 - _''Cocaine'' (Sugar also works)_ - AHAHAHAHA
Honestly, I'd *_REALLY_* love to see an actual and proper ''Abroad in a Pan'' show - with proper studio setup, camera angles and all - not only would it be really entertaining, but it'd showcase Chris' evolution as a cook, or at least an evolution of his cooking skills. It'd be great to compare the first episodes to the most recent ones after months or years
Lol
Great video! I would love to see a whole series of this! 🌟
Oh please let there be a series of Chris & Sharla cooking videos
Loved this and the text commentary on Chris's more questionable decisions. If Sharla's stomach can take it, I'd absolutely love to see more videos like this.
I loved his WhOt because she said the rice was in the cat dishes 😂
Yes!!!! It is the Sharchris show!!!
More episodes please, he's got to learn somehow. :D
Jun better look out - Cats + nice filming + a (good) cook
I'm so happy I get to see more of the dynamic duo!
Love this !
I'm so happy to see I'm not the only inept guy in the kitchen! 🤪 But practice makes perfect, so Chris should DEFINITELY keep presenting more Abroad in a Pan, if only as a warning to others on what NOT to do! 😆
Seeing Chris cooking... has made me very confident in my cooking skills
Finally, the special we have all been desiring for years!
More abroad in a pan!!! Loved it
definitely need more
Please do more abroad in a pan lmao 🤣 you have the ideal set for it, at least. Imagine a Japanese chef trying to teach Chris to cook... priceless content.
Ryosuke, @ChampsJapaneseKitchen taught him how to make fried chicken, he did pretty well there. Definitely should be more "teaching Chris how to cook things" videos 😁
I think chris and sharla recorded these videos all in one go with Tokyo Creative - I say that because Chris is in a lot different shape now. It is nice that Chris and Sharla have volunteered so much of their time to their friends.
The second cat is also a small kitten here.
Tottly need to see more
I laughed so hard! More of Abroad In A Pan please.
More Abroad In A Pan, please! This was hilarious 😂
More "Abroad in a Pan" 😆
He can try it with Sharla or learn local dishes from friends 😁
YES!! More of Abroad in a Pan with Chris and Sharla!
moreee pleaseee
I knew the result because I put the raw wakame straight in without washing it🤣🤣🤣
A couple years ago I partipated in Japanese cooking course and Japanese omelette (Tamagoyaki) was one of those things we made. Usually when cooking lessons ended we could take a couple of sushi pieces and bring them back to home. By the way, Japanese have special rectangle shaped frying pan for Tamagoyaki. It easier to flip next part by using this pan. It was funny how Maru has occupied table. Yes.. more Abroad In A Pan series.. cooking is useful skill and people never stop eating...
More please!
That was just good to watch.
I absolutely loved this video and definitely want to see more Abroad in a Pan! Couldn't stop laughing when Chris got the scissors out to cut the seaweed while it was still in the pan! 😂 Poor Sharla's face when she tried the soup, absolutely priceless. Please, you have to give us more of these videos, they're so much fun to watch! 😁
Sharla's reaction of the miso soup was pure gold
More episodes please!
Please give us more. That was the greatest video ever! Sharla’s reactions were priceless!
Would love to see more of abroad in a pan. With Sharla and maybe different guest each episode to share Sharla’s pain.
Yes, more Abroad in a pan, please! Maybe featuring a vs. battle with Risottaro, cooking his namesake dish?
More Abroad in a Pan! The epic culinary skills that have been shared here can't be missed!
You two vibe so well
Oh DEFINITELY we need more Abroad In A Pan! Make it at least a good 8-12 series season (with invited TC Crew maybe?)
