I feel for Raiden in this game. This man does everything logically to save earthrealm just for it not to be the right descision and in return everyone ends up dying
-and just to get overhated by the fanbase for it. SonicHaXD does a great deep dive into why this Raiden didn’t really do anything wrong (besides future Raiden being vague with his message)

I think he handled the situation hilariously bad. first sending a half assed message to your past self, then getting every single person killed while trying to figure out 'who' must win.
Let's be honest. If future Raiden said "Shao Khan must win," past Raiden probably would end up letting him win, therefore allowing Shao Khan to conquer Earthrealm without consequences.
Scorpion's suit was flawless in this one.
Which is why they brought it back
And so was Sub-Zero's before his transformation

I like how Ermac is op in every scene he's in and is able to just toss people around effortlessly, that is until the player gets to fight him, then he's forced to lose.

Pretty sure he joined because he saw it as a chance to prove to the world his martial arts skills weren't just a result of special movie effects, and he just thought it was normal fighting tournament.

Shao Kahn was so badass, one shots Johnny cage and Sonya blade with ease and would’ve beaten raiden in a 1vs1. Shinnok is fkn pathetic and gotta scheme to rule, Shao Kahn just casually beats up raiden and he oneshots Johnny cage who beat shinnok

In all the years I've been playing MK9 I never really paid attention to the story, just went straight into fighting. Thanks for this! I was just going to check it out quickly but ended up watching the whole thing.
I havent played the MK games since like MK3(I mean I've played some of the newer ones but only a couple of fights). And I came here to do the same and ended up watching the whole thing as well lol.

Honestly I loved every character design it's like the best remake of and franchise ever the costumes and animations are top notch and the 60fps on ps3 is still amazing and even as a kid playing as jade or shirtless Johnny I never felt embarrassed just because of how cool and crazy they look
It’s not a remake exactly it’s a continuation of Armageddon but with time jump back to mk 1-3 and it absolutely butchers the story of that era and mk in general

Jade should be darker. Mileena,sonya&Sindel should have tig ol's (the other women can have various sizes, all of them being huge makes it less fun) Raiden should have shiny eyes and liu should have a bandana

Fighting games are extra difficult competitively, one wrong move and you’ve pretty much guaranteed your defeat, in other games, a single mistake is negligible, but in fighting games, they’re a game ender

MK9 really did have the best story out of all of the other Mortal Kombats. This is the first one I ever played, it was a great introduction to the MK franchise.
The game has been around longer. If you ment reintroduction. Then yes. Its a beautiful love letter. But it's not THE first. Nor i feel its the best in the Franchise. As it's got its own flaws. However,it was the closest to the original. (If they left out that dumb cage x sonya subplot. Made raiden smarter. And didn't overpower sindel making her absolutely insufferable. Killing off shang how they did,because seriously the guy is way more powerful than how he is often portrayed. As he's a huge threat and has always been. So for him to get smoked how he did made no sense. Especially since that's not how shang's magic works. It cant be transferred without heavy consequences. He's cursed. So that never made sense. Other than those things. The game was *chef kiss*)

She is my favorite character for being a great mother to kitana in the past timelines before she was resurrected and was brainwash into thinking that her daughter turned up against her.
Jax has always been my favorite character. He's so underrated
