Sitting here watching this while wearing a pair of Snuff Ramblers. I keep my eye out on Truman weekly releases, but missed this Black Rambler. Great leather. Probably my favorite.
Thanks for this review. I love my Truman’s, but I wish they made the 20 last in an EE…the 79 last is too wide in my heel, I need the flair out in the waist for my super wide, flat, narrow heeled feet! My right foot hangs over the hard edge of the insole and can’t break it in. It bruises my foot pretty brutally. My left foot is in heaven. For what sounds like a huge complaint is more of a sadness! I loooove them so much and I stand and walk all day. The sole is super super comfy!!! I really want their moc toe, if it came in 20 last EE width I would already have a pair. Thanks Tek!!!!
Same here. I am an 11D on the brannock and ordered (black waxed flesh) 10.5 in the 79 last. Too narrow in the toe box but not painful. The length is fine toe does not touch the front at all (could use a tad more length so maybe I could go true to size). Contacted truman and explained my issue. They suggested a 10.5 EE. Ordered that size in the coach ramblers. The EE is much better but they are wide in the heel and much more room in the toe box, which I prefer. I also have the javas in the 20 last, got them before they stopped making the 20 last. They fit great but I believe TTS (true to size) is the correct fit for trumans. Half size down is fine for me but just want a little more room to account for swelling during the day.
Truman's leathers are just gorgeous. They offer more varieties than perhaps any other bootmaker out there. That's their niche in a very crowded American-made boot market.
I just picked up a pair of Coach Ramblers with Commando Soles, structured toe and Goodyear 270 welt. Couldn't be happier. The leathers are mind blowing. I will be getting more of these as you have done. Even here in Australia with the high US shipping, it is certainly worth it! I am between 8.5 and 9 on the brannock in length, but 8.5EE in the width. I went with 8EE and it is a perfect fit for me.
Hat's off here. Very original delivery of the content. Takes a lot of shaft length to try and repeat a video that's been done so many times before. Had many reservations going into this. But this cat delivered in a big way as something original and entertaining. I was quickly taken in by the authenticity of this audacious dude. Earned a very fast subscription click which for me, almost always requires review of several videos. But, it only took two minutes before I saw the genius here.
per·i·pa·tet·ic - traveling from place to place, in particular working or based in various places for relatively short periods. - came for a boot review and learnt a word I didn’t know I needed. Thanks!
I bought a pair of Trumans in oxblood double shot with a commando sole, and I absolutely love the design and feel of the boots. I am a 9D on a brannock, and I decided to buy true to size and got my first pair in 9D (I was new to the boot scene and didn't size down like most people suggest). While I wouldn't say the 9D was too big, I will say that if it was any bigger it would be too big and I would have sent them back. I was still so impressed I ordered another pair in noble ink rambler with the Eugene sole, but this time I got an 8.5D to see how they fit. The new boots are scheduled to arrive today or tomorrow, I am so excited.
@Bootlosophy unfortunately I think something went wrong with their lasting process on this pair. The shaft of the boot is almost comically small, to the point I literally cannot even get my foot in the boot. The 9D Oxblood was a little on the big side, and the 8.5D Ink rambler honestly almost looks and feels like a 7.5, the difference between half sizes here was massive. Disappointed for sure, and I am hoping I can get an exchange going, I reached out to Truman to start the process, and sadly it looks like they no longer offer the Noble Ink Rambler leather. We will see what happens.
@@tacline2 I'm sad to hear that you had a bad experience with Truman. I ordered the Black Bison Moc Toe on the 20 Last, after contacting Truman Customer Service for sizing advice. The size fit perfectly; however, I wear prescription orthotics which when placed caused the tightness across the vamp. I contacted Truman, again and after describing my issue, I was assured that the size is correct; I just need to wear the boot and allow it to mold to my feet. I was so impressed with the beautiful leather and build quality that I took advantage of the recent Crimson MTO, which I am still waiting on. I trust the 2nd pair does not sour my taste for Truman boots, and hope you get your issue resolved amicably!
Teik you are a gem. I love my Truman's. I agree they are very boot like and definitely more casual. I also have issues with the speed hooks. I ended up swapping laces. The black is a great color
Hi Teik - many thanks for all your videos. I appreciate that you can sneak in a word like peripatetic and not sound hifalutin. I tend to buck conventional boot wisdom (CBW) by buying boots true to Brannock (alliteration not intended). With mid-weight wool socks I measure a rather skimpy US 7D. Many boot companies don’t manufacture smaller than 7. And though sometimes I have what might be considered excess room at the toe (by CBW standards), I typically find the widest portion of my foot lines up with the widest portion of the boot. And on those occasions when the boot is a tad too large, a plethora of insoles are available. Not to mention that my foot at 9:00 am can be quite different from my foot at 9:00 pm. I guess I’m saying I enjoy the extra room if any really exists. Anyway, not sure if you or anyone else will see this comment, as this video may be in the rear-view mirror since it’s several months old.
great to see you in some rambler leather Teik!!!!!!! loved hearing your thoughts on it as there is little known on the internet on it and it really has become one of my top 3 leathers, mainly because of that gnarly character that it has going on
Thank you for the information. What is your most comfortable wearing boot? In deciding to purchase these kind of boots, I place comfort as my number one on the list.
I have Parkhurst as well, I love them, but yes they are insanely narrow! I just wore them on a trip abroad and they caused me huge issues due to constant rubbing on my funky toes. I may have sell them sadly.
Hey Teik. I love your videos. In particular I really like how you described the "comfort" of these boots. I have a pair of Trumans. I love them, and I love the "comfort" they provide. However, when I'm wearing them I often think of how there are different types of "comfort", and you sum it up well. It's like the word "delicious". Pizza is delicious and chocolate cake is delicious, but they taste nothing like each other. Same with boots. My Trumans are very comfortable to me for the circumstances for which I wear them (in a casual setting), but I recognize that they wouldn't provide the "comfort" I need to run a marathon or play a game of basketball. Anyway, thanks for providing great videos.
White MPs are long, slender looking boots. I have one pair and they’re super comfortable but definitely have a narrow look compared to Truman’s, even the 55 last which has a narrower toe box than the 79
I admit to being a bit biased, as I have two pairs of Truman boots and live a 2 hour drive from them. Gotta support the home team! I'm like you, in that I find Truman boots to be incredibly well designed and well made. Truly PNW with a tough elegance. Not as dress boot as newer Viberg, and not as work-boot like as Nicks, Frank's, JK or White's. Right in the middle. I wonder if your Truman's with the commando sole feels softer underfoot than the Dainite.
Since the toebox tapers it quick. Would you say going up .5 can help? Im a 9.5 and using a 9 and i feel like they barely fit. Toes don't touch the front or sides but barely have any room. Or is this the way Truman's last will fit?
@@Bootlosophy me too, me too. It's not the end of the world but oh well. I did go by their sizing. I would like more room because I can't even wear thicker socks with the 79 last. With the 20 last I can since it has more toebox width. But from now on I will go tts on truman if I buy another pair. After wearing my parkhurst 602M at only .5 down (9 for me), my world has changed. Feels so comfortable and now those are my baseline. If boots don't feel like 602M, with enough room after the toes, I must have the wrong size. Thanks for the reply mate.
I’ll wear my boots eating fois Gras and caviar. Not to be antagonistic but wholecuts and oxfords are worn with denims too. Not everyone works in a conservative office. Your reviews o9f the boots themselves is accurate, your preferences are your own. Your bias after. viewing all of your videos is clear, we all have our favourites. I think yourself and stride wise apply the reviews to your feet and not to the boots sometimes. Don’t get me wrong mate, I love you, you’re brilliant. Not being antagonistic back, but I’m not sure anyone could provide preferences that are not their own. Most of what I offer is in two parts - facts about construction and material, and my own opinion about preferences. I can’t review about someone else’s feet after all. And by the way I actually really like my Truman boots.

I think “plethora” is giving “peripatetic” a run for its money 😂😂👍
Have the Martini rambler and the oxblood double shots in 79 last. They are both absolutely gorgeous and unique boots. Build quality is top notch .
Just ordered their Black Friday Java Waxed flesh MTO. I opted for a slightly more dressy MTO (Eugene sole vs commando, no toe cap, all eyelets).

Your Truman/Rambler collection meant I had to try some 😁

Kinda hard to pick from 106 pairs 🤷🏻♂️
Great review. What do you like for a more comfortable boot?
I got mine from Parkhurst. Their Rambler toebox is a lot more narrow. Ill have to try the Truman I like the more rounded toe. Great review

Very well spoken review
I wanted the the Charcoal Grizzly Rough Out 8 in wide but they ran out
Thank You for sharing. Truman are some of my favorites definite upgrade over Iron Ranger imho.
Nice looking boots you got there
How would you compare the sizing of Truman 79 last vs whites mp last?
The Whites are longer

I have Dainite pairs. The commando is marginally softer.
Thank you Tech
How to get these in Australia ?
