Luther Vandross and Freddie Jackson are legendary.
you prolly dont give a shit but if you are bored like me during the covid times you can watch all of the new movies and series on InstaFlixxer. Have been streaming with my brother for the last couple of days :)
@Cairo Gibson yup, I have been watching on instaflixxer for since december myself :)
We do a disservice to artists when we try to compare them Both Freddie and Luther are icons, and unique in their own distinctive way, I have been enriched by the music of both of them, and I feel fortunate that I lived at a time when they were both at their peak.
"Love Is Just A Touch Away". My favorite Freddie Jackson song. A true testament to his vocal ability and musicality in my opinion.
James Darling Jr
That one is my fav as well.
That is my favourite as well that Track alone is in a class all by its self soo smooth & classic ❤️💯
Yesssss
Freddie Jackson and Luther Vandross are the True Kings of R&B
I love Freddie Jackson, God bless you Freddie!!!
Freddie is a soul legend, so sad that he's so underrated. Love his music.
Freddie is not underrated at all. He simply was not able to cross over as Luther and Teddy did yet he holds his own.
@@carolynbratton7827I agree Luther was the whole package renewing himself constantly. Freddie is 70 years old now or something like that and he let go of himself. I saw a video of him in concert. Lost a lot of weight and he looked so untidy wearing "wrinkled khaki pants, a lousy shirt" and unshaved. You would have never seen Luther dressed like that in concert or even in private life. He was always sparkling and spotless.
Not underrated, but overlooked...by the general public.
Not underrated he just never crossed over to pop he is a soil singer with a soul audience
Two totally different styles. Luther was better branded and a superior voice of distinction. One of a kind. He respected Freddie as a singer at the top of his game. Freddie could hold his own.
Freddie Jackson is a icon, a master of music. The radio Dj has a golden voice.
What an incredible man Freddie is, Truly a person with so much love and a positive vibe. What struck a note for me, is when he said about losing His Dear Mum, (yes we spell Mum this way in the UK lol) that you never get over losing your Mum, you just learn to live with it. Until a certain song, smell location brings it back home. Thank you Sir, for your words of wisdom. Love Robert and family from the United Kingdom.
he was in the golden era of soul R&B wbls the quiet storm with vaughn harper he is one of the artists that is at least is alive
Man... Him and Duane Martin must be related... They look a lot alike!
R Anthony soooo true!
Haha
He surely does looks like Duane Martin
😂😂😂😂
Yep. They aren't though.
Rock me tonight is still one of my favorite songs.
Luther Vandross was in a Lane all by himself 🧐🧐 and was my favorite Male Singer of all time 🤗🤗 May he Rest in Peace 😥😥 .... Freddy Jackson is awesome 👍
Luther Vandross and Freddie Jackson are legendary. Best Singers!
The interviewers voice...omg🥰🥰🥰
Freddie Jacksons music was really popping back in the 80's when I was in college.
Luther Vandross rivalry??? Freddie you are an awesome artist no doubt about that but Luther is in a class ALL BY HIMSELF!!!!!! IMHO
Well not on the night they were on the same show in Atlanta with ready for the world Freddie took the show! Not stole the show!
Gord Beneteau I completely agree
Luther is the more consistent singer, he almost never hit a bad note live. His live versions usually always sounded like the album version, but Freddie Jackson was a more dynamic singer. Meaning he could sing in a vocal range that Luther couldn't, and do different runs. Luther did the same runs just about every song, Freddie could do a run and you would say "I never heard him do that one". Luther ranks higher as an overall singer, but on the same night he wouldn't want Freddie at his best on the same stage!
Good point well presented Luther is a godfather
Freddie had MORE # 1 singles on the charts and sex appeal (to the ladies)--- while Luther had MORE songs, longevity (able to make it to the 90's), and angelic, classy demeanor whom the the popular singers admired. Luther is one of my favorites... Freddie is GREAT also
Freddie will always have my ears and respect. He dropped jewels. That was a nice Luther Vandross story. ✌🏾🖤
Watching this is good therapy for my soul. [smile]
Adore Freddie Jackson and his sense of humor, not to mention his music.
I love the fact that' he is taking control of his life with what he can control .. with that said this man is a music icon legendary and he still has an awesome voice .. 🙏🏾❤️💯
good to see Freddie Jay, I never saw him interview before, but he still seems to have the passion for his music and music period.
What a great talent😄. One of my favorite vocalists! Keep on going and always sing your very best!
Freddie Jackson! I love when you sing You Are My Lady. I love hearing you sing any of your music. God bless you always. Love ya!❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉Jam The Night Away!
Good to see him still rockin...
alicia burney hey Alicia
Wow , he's so amazing . Life is a good thing . He's a entertainers , entertainer . Really talented singer , just God given .
When you love somebody when you love to love somebody the way somebody loves you.....and you are my lady my 2 faves😍
Freddie is an amazing person - so genuine!
LEGENDARY!
I hope he is truly ok....This man is great memories for me....God bless him and keep him healthy and safe...
Very good interview!
Yes, its true that Freddie Jackson loves to entertain. Have been to his concerts and he is a true entertainer. He loves it and I enjoy him.
At around 1:42 Freddy said back in the day he was 'banking for old-times sake'...LMBO!!! But to the real: I remember back around 1985-1986 getting into arguments with co-workers over Luther(my fave) versus Freddie(their fave). I look back on those debates with fondness and humor, as both were awesome vocalists in their own right. Yet both had a different style and approach. Respect and RIP to Luther Vandross.
💘 love me some Freddy Jackson. My favorite.
Freddie was/is a great singer. He and Luther had a slight rivalry for R&B crooner supremacy at the time. Both were topping the charts and having some crossover success. Freddie is far more nice when talking about Luther, than vice versa, so there was something there. I'll say this, they were both great! I personally enjoy Luther more, but I enjoyed Freddie's albums too. If you look down through music history, there were always these kind of dynamics between the top singers or groups. Ultimately, it's a sign of mutual respect.
Gee wiz who cares who's the best. I like them both. But, "Rock with Me" was a home run.
And I could use a lil love right now
I love Freddie Jackson and his music. Whatever happened to great R&B/Soul artists like this??
Great singer mr Jackson love from the u.k.
Love Luther, Freddie Jackson Johnny Gil, Johnnie Taylor I used to listen to "The Quiet Storm" radio stations in the (San Francisco Bay area: KBLX) and also in LA. Going to check out this online "Quiet Storm."
Freddie Jackson love his song after all this time listen to it everday
Freddie is aging and may be having health issues. But I do not see drugs being an issue. Keep on doing what your doing Mr. Jackson. I love you.
Yulonda Bell You arw right..Its something..Teeth too..Hope he feels better soon.
Praying for you love
Honestly...We all know or at least think we know what the issue is but we just don't want to say it out of respect of his personal life but if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck...hmmm?
Still one of the greatest singers of our generation with a lovable personality.
Sing on Freddie!
@@toneejai7358 I have a friend who knew him. You are Right. Inside info, it is a duck!!!!!!!👍🏽😌
He is private and without drama he only has one controversy to his name to this day, so I could see why people try to find something on him. He is so legendary.
icon..Ready for Freddie!! classic
I 💕💕💕 you and your music....good to see you....
Great singer! One of the legions!
May Luther rest in peace
Blessing to Freddie Jackson
Keep up the good work Freddie we love you.
DOMINICAN REPUBLIC...I REMEMBER FREDDIE L.TALKING ABOUT HIS VISITS THERE.....

Lenny Green has such a nice sounding voice.

I think there is more going on with his health but God bless him.
I wanna rock wit ya Freddie😘!!! One of my favorite r&b legends of all time!! Wanna hear him sing "You are my Lady"🎤🎤🎤🎶🎶
Kimberly Parker Yea you go ahead and do that and report back with the results.
Legend. Period.
Someone commented said he’s aging 😂 we all age and do you expect him stay young forever what a dumb comment! Freddie you are a legend!
Freddie can out sing any new cat out to today!!!
That's right
GROW UP ON FREDDIE JAM TONIGHT ..
+BLACKLADYNAY NAY Me too. I didn't realize he was up there in age. He looked his best in the "You Are My Lady" video. Age can be so cruel.
Fred is a legend!!
♥ me some Freddie Jackson.
Thank you for being true to your video title. A lot of these you tube people are just trying to get us to click on stuff so they can get views. People will watch your videos if they are interesting point blank.
Sorry i just think Luther Vandross was in a class of his own
B***h got out the car lookin' more like Freddie Jackson!
LOL that quote takes on a new meaning now!!
One Love Fam...
I grew up listening to Freddie Jackson, his voice is lovely. It does seem as if his teeth makes his words slur or run together somewhat. I don't know if it's the lighting of this video clip but his teeth do look very dark, upper and bottom. It's clear that he has lost a lot of weight, he is an older man, at the time of this interview and the wight loss overall looks good on him from his face down to his chest. He is a great Singer and I hope he'll come with something new in 2019.
Looking foreward to the new CD! Hope I will be able to get hold of it here in Norway????i GOD bless!
Two of my favorite and the best singers of all time. I'm just sad that they were never able to live their truth. I understand record sales and it's a business but if you're not true to yourself, it'll show in the music. Now y'all KNOW Freddie Jackson don't want no LADY. It's you are my MAN, my love, you're everything I need and more. Love me some Luther and Freddie and it makes me happy that they were actually friends.
the best
Hei mam I don't wanna go is fantastic music 😂🇧🇷🇧🇷
a really sweet persona. I have to say...been following his career on and off since the beginning and find that he stil got it voicewise.I have to say he could gain a little weight.his face use to be so cute.I know we all get older ...and sometimes its like an old sofacouch thats needs a little new stuffing as I like to refer about myself.yes, but I was not meant to be sitt on :-) he has a good sense of humor...oh I almost forgot... on of my light bulb moments...I wish him well and continues success
It doesn't really matter BUT I love Luther. I don't own a single Freddie Jackson album.
It was once said about Diana Ross is that she is Saks Fifth Ave while Donna Summer was Frederick’s of Hollywood.
Luther was champagne and Freddie is champale.
Mr can sing good bless him 🙏
Luther's music has lasted longer and is better known today. However, when Freddie hit the scene he had bigger hits than Luther -- first two singles hit pop Top 20 -- and WAY more number one R&B hits than Luther. Freddie also got more airplay than Luther in the mid-80s. Freddie's career waned just as Luther's popularity and acclaim ascended out of the R&B sub-genre in late 80s. It was a REAL commercial rivalry and Freddie took the first few rounds.
Only the God can help him 🙌🙌
''WATCH UR MOUTH''!!! LOL!!
The interviewer looks like Dr dre lol
Freddie Jackson?...I remember when his song first came out and my mom played the hec out of that record and for some reason out of all the music she played, that particular song (Rock with me tonight) made me cringe! I hated it! I was young but somehow able to discern that the content was lustful, nasty and had my mom lusting over this dude. She was in her mid 20’s and now that I’m almost 40...I get it. Lol. I hear it now and that song is a BANGER! Lol.
hahhahahahhahahhahahhahhahahhahhahhahha I agree with you dear same here I never really liked him but now wow thats's crazy lol........................
@@thapelomolaudzi3455 lol.
🤣🤣🤣🤣good one!
Harlem in the house
luv this ...always imagined they threw good girlfriend shade
The"BEST" YOU ARE MY LADY still stands strong with me. Stay healthy and Happy Freddie. Love ya. Oh and what people (sterotype) think of YOU...it's none of your business!!! Get it??
Check the numbers, Freddie is one of the best R&B performers of all times. He had two of the best selling LPs ever in R&B. Luther doesn't.
Freddie was and is an outstanding entertainer. Luther was not although he had broader audience. Both outstanding artists.
*Wait a minute , could this be THE same Freddie Jackson, the great ballad/R&B singer who was once so healthy-looking with a fat face & nice lily-white- teeth smile? How could a man who made millions with his great singing ability allow himself to become so run down now, especially in his buccal hygiene? Not to bash the man but something just dosen't seem right now, but still, Freddie's def. one of the greats of all times, & his midas-achievements stand as a testament to his legacy in the music industry. All the best brother.*
ivor worrell I truly believe he is sucking on that pipe And it's deteriorating his Teeth as well as his health... May God be with him !!!!
Ruth Hawkins lmaoo 😭😭😭
HE STILL LOOK GOOD
It wasn't Freddy that started that it was Luther's People who said " He's your main competition Luther "
It's like the older he got the more you can see his gay mannerisms. It's just obvious now. Still like and enjoy his music!
freddie might got them alphabets ! he and Eddie long look the same! but his music still jam!
Both LV and FJ patterned their singing styles after women singers. Aside from that. LV all day. Freddie got some hits but Luther All day.
I love Freddie but he is not being honest. Healthy weight loss does not make one weak. If you look at him in his concert he was clearly weak. Thats not normal.
He's lost a lot of weight , but does aging come with loosing a lot of weight. He's 60, but looks as old as my dad, and I'm 63.
Regardless, I've enjoyed many intimate times with lady friends while listening to his ballad "You Are My Lady."
Love Freddy! Ummm Lenny is lokey handsome! ☺😬
My grandma name is Juanita.
ahahaah lol he said you go to rikers right aahahahah
You never stop loving NY, just run some of the people out LOL
there is nothing wrong with Fredie, just a little high. remember to attend church Freddie that God may bless you
Freddie jackson lip gloss is so shinny...gurl
LOOK AT HIS MOUTH ..HOW DO YOU COME OUT LIKE THAT
he looks so different and he has the old mans voice wow
Parish Mack LOL awww😍
and the old man look! LOL!
Omg I just said the same thing.
Maybe because he is actually an old man now. You are my lady is 33 years old.
I thought this was going to be about Luther...who is this man
I know you fuckin lyin
@@jacovbtarver1713 lol. Right. RUclips will show them err"thang they need to see.
What rivalry? Luther was light yrs ahead
nicklong1981 .FACTS!!!!!!!!!!!
He's older now but act looks ok...Hollywood's a strange land.
I shooked that he was gay interview years ago he admitted in so many words
