- A lap of Australia's 2024 Formula One circuit with just a few weeks until the Melbourne Grand Prix. I tour the circuit by eScooter to see what's been built, what's still left to do, and talk about best places to watch the race from.
Not sponsored by Lime! We just hired some scooters so my daughter could ride a lap of the track to check out how the F1 is looking for 2024. Let us know if you're going to the race as well.
Didn't you just do a Melbourne F1 vid?....oh wait, that was a year ago...
Comes around fast hey?
I'm always sad when the season is over and asking myself, "what do I watch now".
2 sleeps and several beers later, the new season has begun.
Exactly what I was thinking.
@@stef747 that last one was a chaos
That feeling when Lakeside Drive is mentioned by Stef 😍🔥
Very cool! I’ve been to the park in Montreal where they host the Canadian GP and these two parks appear to be quite similar. It’s amazing to see it as a regular park. If you didn’t know it was a race circuit, only a few things would give it away. It’s pretty cool to drive the park roads knowing you’re on an F1 circuit! Go Max!
Great vid Stef, always look forward to your next upload (especially ones on F1) Keep up the great work!
Thanks Samuel, I appreciate you saying that.
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you 🙏
I absolutely loved walking around the circuit a week out from the race actually starting. Everything was essentially finished except from some overpass bridges, some painting of adverts and almost all of the hospitality stuff like food stalls.
90% of the track was still open to drive around and it was amazing
Can't wait !!
thank you so much
The massive alonso crash in 2016 (if you really mean that one) was into turn 3.
That crash happened right in front of me. There was a big cloud of kitty litter, then it took a while to comprehend what happened. I got some cool pictures of the aftermath though.
Same place where Brundle crashed in similar circumstances, 20 years before Alonso!
Amazing bro, F1 should give you a special access because make peoples know about the process mae circuit from the public park :D
Hey Stef, cant find any tickets left... Do you know any vantage points from outside where i can watch the GP?
As an American who knows next to nothing about F1 (I do like that they turn both left AND right!) this was a pretty fun way to learn a bit about the setup. We'll see if we ever get a stage (? event? race?) here in Chicago and we could similarly scoot around the track setup.
The most Melbourne thing ever "don't sit on the wall" 🤣
Ha, yes. And the most Melbourne response "sorry!"
Formula 1 is always nice to see on this channel :)
Thank you, I've loved the F1 since I was a kid in the UK so it's nice to share it here on this channel. Appreciate you watching.
If your going Stef maybe I’ll see you there! Gonna be my first F1 race
I like these videos, hope you do a pack up one also. Think you did that last year also, maybe I'm dreaming haha!
Can’t wait I’m in both the Porsche and AMG with MY 14 yo daughter Mate love your vids and as a pilot too I get your need the need for speed
Great video Stef, looks like you have some competition for the wittiest content maker :)
Thanks Lea, yeah she does make me chuckle!
Couldn't agree more!
I'll be there on the inside of Turn 1 all 4 days. Woohoo. Then off to Suzuka for the Japanese GP
Awesome, have a great weekend. And what an adventure seeing a GP in Japan as well, enjoy!
@stef747 Thanks 😀 I'll look out for you at the Melbourne GP too.
Lucky mate! How was the view today
@@andrewmtgx the views are great. Getting in and out of the track was the issue.
Note for the future. Stay on the outside of the track.
Now they've stopped track access at race end it's painful getting through the overpass.
@@AJS86 Oh yeah... the overpasses I recall Wallin thru it... yo it was a cool view though lookin at the race from the stairs gap!! That was a free grandstand view for GA 🤣
Hi Stef, any idea as to when the track will be closed to traffic?
There are closures on and off at various times even now. But the main (full) closures happen around 2 weeks prior to the GP.
@@stef747 Hello, do you know what times/days the road is closed now.
will it be back two wks after ?
You're a pretty cool dad, Stef! Luckily, I had someone as cool as you during my adolescent years growing up!
Hey Steff!
Always love seeing one of your F1 videos Stef especially as this time 4 years ago I was stood on that same start finish line at Albert park just before the 2020 Australian Grand Prix... Oh wait, yeah that was definitely an awkward moment afterwards. Also I'm with junior pilot on Oscar (and also Lando/McLaren) 😉
0:43 That’s sounds like something Will Buxton would say
Haha 😂
Good to see (unlike F1!) a changed team lineup in Team Stef. Clearly the FIA Superlicence arrangements have allowed tech 'e' enhancement as old Squeaky has been dropped from the grid with Drivers A and B both now on scooters, but with clearly not excessive insurance excess costs making B ride the bumps this year. Driver B at least makes the front starting Stef Grid less 'Pommie Heavy' than actual AGP - & B clearly also correctly supports the star package Young Oscar. Education of young pilots shows here with less cursing on team radio and just calm clear analysis. Unlike older pilots. Let's hope for increased budget cap again in 2025 what next for Team Stef?
Underrated comment right here, that made me laugh thank you!
"Aaaages ago" made me feel old hahaha
She has a good habit of making me feel old a LOT.
Might have been the least informative, but definitely is the most fun trip around the track
I'll take that! I'll leave the documentaries to the professionals :)
If you haven't decided whether you are going yet then I have news for you, you won't be going. Tickets for Sunday sold out months ago. If you are lucky, you might still be able to get a ticket for Thursday or Friday.
