  • Saturday May 20 & Sunday May 21st 2023:
It's been a grand week at the world's busiest airport! For the first time in over 5yrs a brand new international carrier began service to Addis Abba. That's right! The Ethiopians have come to town & will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. But that's not all! An outbreak of Maple Fever has enveloped this city as finally, after years of begging, Air Canada mainline is servicing ATL with their beautiful A220. But wait, there's more! . . . . I'm not going to ruin the surprises though. You'll have to give this video your undivided attention in order to bear witness to all of the noteworthy occurrences. It will be worth your while, I guarantee!

ADD is a very high elevation airport, so it impacts aircraft performance negatively. As such, on long routes such as to ATL, the planes have to carry lots of fuel, and may be too heavy to take off from a "hot and high" airport. Hence why they stop in DUB. One time last week though, it was nonstop ADD-ATL, since either they took a load penalty or the winds were in their favor.

I like the checking on the passengers to see which winners have their shade open.

I’m glad Atlanta has Ethiopian Airlines now. But I still want ANA and Japan Airlines to come to the ATL because I want that city to have the taste of Japanese culture.

I am glad that Ethiopian has finally started service to the ATL. We need more international airlines to come to Atlanta. I still waiting for Emirates to come here.

Nah, there's no point having EK when TK and QR satisfy the market already. Besides, if it's true that either AI, DL, or even both eventually add direct flights to India, then that market will be almost completely satisfied with 3 or 4 carriers basically targetting it.

@@alphabravoindia5267 AI will only serve those who go to India, not the whole subcontinent. And the Gulf Carriers will crush AI in any market. Bringing in Emirates or even Etihad makes more economic sense.

I agree. Emirates or Etihad will flourish in the ATL market.

@@aviationandmemes1627 AM and KQ make some sense. China airlines probably not due to the limitations on how many flights specific carriers can have between China-USA.

'Maple Fever' 😆 I was really hoping for a Southwest 'Texas' special livery - clap, clap, clap, clap. jetBlue does fly the A321neo, in fact, they fly it from Boston to Heathrow.

Re FC window shades down: I’m with you. Always up once pushing often before. Usually taking a video. Very common now with the relatively younger (I would argue more skittish) flyers to want it dark so they can bury their faces in a screen. DAL MM, ex-Diamond. They also now generally refuse PDBs - which I respect. But, if FAs offer (70-30 post COVID) I take them up on it.
