Tim's infectious grooves he accomplishes with the sheer technicality and super clean tone is unrivaled at this point. Tim is laying down top tier playing as usual. He reels you in and blows your mind while making it look so easy.
Scotty is just as able and honestly sometimes more amazing tbh.. People just stroke Tim's shaft without knowing their history and writing, but I know them and have been a fan for over a decade and trust me it's not just tim behind the wheel he is just in his own way phenomenal
It's Progressive Djent like Animals As Leaders (they are both imstrumental only bands); it's more experimental/melodic than of other metal genres due to tue it's main focus besides the istrumental really skilled playing, being: Mixing/Mastering; You can do a lot nowadays with just the basic plugins of every DAW . Born Of Osiris, Rings Of Saturn, Periphery aswell as many other Bands "belong" to this genre.. one of the Pioneers of this genre were Meshugga, Mastodon and Gojira (The Rythm and slap like guitar parts, extended range guitars, modern metal production etc.). It's hard to explained since a lot is also Production related.. there are also different styles.. either more chopped off, melodic or more heavy but most tracks mix these guitar styles. A lot of it it really technical instrumental playing and studio production basically and music theroy knowledge.
When I first heard the song I went to my doctor explaining to him that I might have a serious case of Polyphia. He described me their album until I get therapy?!
I dig that you guys got so into it you only stopped it once. It shows an appreciation for how incredible this band (and this song in particular) is. Keep doing this! Check out YAS by Polyphia, too.
FWIW, the guitarists from Polyphia, Tim Henson and Scott LePage, have also done a track with BABYMETAL, "Brand New Day". Tim has already expressed interest in wanting to perform this live with them whenever that's actually possible to do.
No goats have been harmed during the production of that video. 😂 Seriousely though that was awesome! So cool, so totally unusual! Somehow mesmerzing...
The worst kind of reaction video, just ctrl + v the video onto your channel and easy ad revenue from someone else hard work, and this song believe me there was a lot of hard work.
The record label that they're on(Equal Vision) is basically a who's who of insane musicians. Mostly math rock bands like Hail the Sun and The Fall of Troy. Polyphia is just fucking insane tho.
Every reaction to this amazing band is always every word but jazz and funk! Lol. I hear all the other generes but jazz and funk is the foundation. People usually say trap because alot of times the kick is more electronic then a hardware kick sound. Your reactions are the best! Your actually feeling the music and makes me happy and excited to!!!!
Yes it is sooo good. Do you know their guitarist co wrote one of babymetal's song called "brand new day"? Have you reacted to that song? Can you imagine babymetal & polyphia?
polyphia definitely isnt djent. they are rhythm oriented, but its not like animals as leaders or meshuggah. they're kind of their own thing with hip hop and math rock edit: but yes i know they used to be
The sound they've had in the last few years has nothing to do at all with djent. Maybe back 6 years ago some song were more fitting to that style, but not anymore. Last two albums are mostly in standard tuning anyway so
Every band reacting to GOAT: "I've never heard anything like this."

Tim Henson writes the songs in Ableton, then the band figures out how do it in real life. Really clever.
is it clever? i've always wrote my music in guitar pro and learned them later, purely out of laziness.

i would say its cool for Li to hang out with them, lol
New sub just because of how genuine and authentic your reactions were. No fake, staged shit, I loved it.
