Technology supreority is over in kinetic warfare. Artillery is far more important than other weapons/logistics. Keep informating us Gen Shankar sir
Wow, Sir. Most of our depots are in public domain. Do we know the same for China? Im pretty sure this goes into scenario planning (unhappy path) logistics breakdown. 1962 was abt failure in supply chain. Hope we have learn lessons
Sir what a video 🎉
And thanks to modi government we Bharat now can fight long wars
We can produce millions of shells per months ammunition in metric of tons
We are set for long war
And thanks to modi ji and many really caring experts and generals and
More importantly thanks private players
We are now focusing in more advance technology to mass produce it
And question of IFV and tanks is terrine we need more mass production of IFV and thanks
And with
Active protection systems
Survival of armoured raised to major folds
Sir, please post the link of Artillery usage in Kargil that you talked about in this video.
Ok
Sir 1 Q: How does it work in case of missiles ? They also have explosives, so do you take explosives out at the end of life (I doubt you destroy whole missile) as cost of a missile runs into millions of $.
Ask during a live session
Excellent Presentation Sir....Nicely Explained
Absolutely fabulous to know so much intricacies
Am at 28.18, and finding the content quite informative, educative General Saheb. Thank you for that. One of the things that has been on my mind you have addressed that too about the involvement of private sector in the manufacturing of defense equipment. Personally, would not like to see too much involvement of private sector in the light of what is being seen in USA/NATO. It becomes more about money/corruption, inferior products and unnecessary wars than the defence of the country itself. Having said that, I feel that your theory/saying that Putin has gone to North Korea for arranging to have supply of shells is bit questionable. Not saying that you are wrong but it is questionable because I have been reading some material, blogs by professionals of military background of both USA, Russia who say that Russia of today is self sufficient in this area. Not only that but probably is the only country in the world to be in such a position.
Matter of chance that just this morning have read a blog which, though not exactly on this topic but close to it. Here is the link to it. Do not know how does that square with Putin looking for supplier.
Today is looking very smart respected general sahib god bless you 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Excellent presentation! I think it’s more likely that our adversaries will heed your advice than our own politicians. We are still not self sufficient in small arms and their ammunition manufacturing.
Dreat show Sir. Very educative.
Sat sri akaal Honorable P R Shankar sahib ji as well all listeners, as always wonderful analysis, thanks a lot for explaining in very simple language.. Jai Hind, Vandematram..
Sir pls speak hindi....
Sir it may be common in army, but please do not call your audience stupid. It's not very civil.
Sir, arty ammunition toh theek hai, but how does India plan to abide by FARP? We have ATAGS, Dhanush, MArGs & MLRS but still orders are largely stuck. So far orders of only 10 regts of Pinaka in place with only 6 raised, while we need 22 or perhaps more for a two front war. :(
Token orders worth a few hundred would be welcome, but still not sufficient when the requisite is in the 1000s.
See my earlier videos
In the 90s - Government of India went on over drive for Cost Cutting calling it MLSS. One of the areas was Ammunition Management - which was actually cutting war stocks on the presumption that there would be sufficient forewarning BUT there was absolutely NO corresponding increase in the Manufacturing Infrastructure. Mind you manufacturing depends Not only on the Supply Chain but Largely on the Man Power which needs to be Extremely Proficient !!!
We, Sir are nowhere in Understanding the Process let alone Operationalizing it anywhere in any Product line !!!
Sorry - you are being extremely optimistic !!!
Hmm
Gen. Shankar, your requirement of ammunition is based upon 60 pcs. per day per gun. While this may be ok for defence, is it adequate for attack, which India may have to do in next war.
it evens out.
China has inexhaustible production capacity. They are the world's factory. Re-tooling, no problem.
hmm
General your topic selection is very good. But there is a problem with sound. It’s very low. And I use an iPad.
let me try to fix it
I will not agree that private industry capacity to produce Amunition not possible OUR govnmt never tried try once then you will find their capacity
hmm
38:06 Good morning sir that's not possible w/O atamnirbhar bharat in defense industrial field and we should carry out research on the use of flue gas co2 and n2 for use in the manufacturing of ammonia and urea to further utilize them in urea nitrate so that it could be used in ammunition and rocket Propellent for military use on the mass scale along with agriculture uses too
hmm
Respected Sir, will this analysis be applicable to tank and spg ammunition as well?
Their requirements are far lesser
It is reported currently indian ammunition only can last for 2 weeks. Is this true?
Try testing the report
