- The Hawkeye Marching Band, Northern Iowa Panther Marching Band, and country music star Pat Green with his band in a special performance of "Wave on Wave," the official song of the Iowa Wave.
At every home game in Kinnick Stadium, all fans turn to wave to the patients in the Stead Family Children's Hospital next to the stadium. At Halftime for the Iowa vs. Northern Iowa game on September 15, 2018, the marching bands joined forces with Pat Green to honor our fans in the Children's Hospital.
I am not even an Iowa fan but this is the greatest tradition ever. For the kids!! Get better young souls

I'm sorry if this is super late, but 1:38 is where he clearly realizes just how into it the crowd is with their cell phone lights (which I'm proud to say I contributed to). It was an amazing performance and moment!

Pat Green is a fellow Texas Tech Red Raider and lover of college football. Tech does not have anything like this. I am so happy his song helps this magical tradition.....Go Hawks !!!!!

I grew up as a Hawkeye in Texas, so Pat Green was a staple. The Wave I helped promote on the Facebook channel and it was my mom (an alumni of UI) and I's dream to wave together. Sadly she passed and I will wave for her (hopefully) this season and I was probably cry many tears and break down, but for those kids, for how much the tradition means to me and did to my mom, she waved until she end. Best. Tradition. In. Sports. PERIOD!
Have been to Kinnick many times Its hard to describe to those who haven't the emotions that lotta people get during the wave. I have four young healthy adult kids so I'm very thankful that none of mine never needed to be there but ya get emotional knowing there's some parent near ya that isn't as fortunate.

I just brought this up on another video. I’m an instant Pat Green Fan. I have a son with a rare form of cerebral palsy and have been to things like this.Special Olympic Etc. Great place to be after a week or so of blood tests,X-rays,EEGs,EKGs,all the scans. I’m tired so I know he’s exhausted so you start bagging on some of the Docs or nurses. See which docs are human rectums exits.Get the other kids to give the same answer to standard questions. See if they catch it.Anything to break things up.Then you see all the smiles,Get and give all the hugs.Hey people can do some pretty amazing things when they want. Black,white,Brown,Everyone.Sure does amaze me sometimes.
