We are the sound of Kinnick Stadium and the heartbeat of the University of Iowa. We are 285 marching Hawkeyes who are part of a legacy spanning more than 140 years. We are the Hawkeye Marching Band.

The hawkeyes have a yt channel?
Tired of the very selective videos on this channel. Don't care about the girl twirling a baton or the dance team. It's about the marching band and I have yet to see the trombone section. My Niece is on the marching band this year and it's disappointing and disgusting that all we see is drums and trumpets and people with batons. There are 270 plus there how about you respect them and show them.
That's such an interesting perspective. We can't help but wonder if the friends and family of the students on the Hawkeye Drumline, in the baritone, tenor and alto saxophone, and trumpet sections, our Drum Major, Golden Girl, the reserves who handle props, and our long time collaborators, the Iowa Dance Team, who were all shown in close-up shots would agree? As you point out, we do have 280+ members-- who are spread across a very large field (100 yards!), and are also in near constant motion. Given the complexity of any given show, the one camera person we can allow on the field (to avoid collisions and interference with the students' performance!) is rather limited in where they can go and how fast they can get there. Might also help to remember that the instruments are strategically placed in specific areas for balance so the music sounds right. Moving low brass closer to the front sideline might make it easier to get close-up shots, but the music wouldn't be recognizable! There sure is a whole lot to consider when producing a show with this many moving parts! At least the vast majority of this video shows the entire band all at once!
I feel this, the golden girl and drum major are fine because they are actually a part of the band, but I wouldn’t mind having less of the dance team, so we can see how we moved from set to set. I will say this video was a lot better about showing just the band then past weeks
