    So much for that new genius OC (that consistently blows 3rd conversions with absolutely boneheaded trick play shit)

      I feel if this team had even just one top level receiver, like other teams, we’re talking national championship game. Maybe another win…over Ohio State earlier in the season. NIL and money has changed everything.

    The journey is great. We love the journey. The journey is fun. We will look back upon the journey with many fond memories over peach punch and snacks. Unfortunately, it's about winning.

    0-3 against elite teams this season is the only stat that matters. Went 0-2 and were handed the easiest bracket to make it to the Semi's and then got a 10-0 lead and did nothing with it. Got outcoached via adjustments in the 2nd half yet again against a good team and the offensive play calling was not good enough. Rinse and repeat every year with Frankling at the helm and bandaid fixes to WR room.

      This is 💯 percent the correct take…

      That being said…
      Is it safe to say that if weren’t for this new 12 team playoff format Ohio State or Penn State would not have made the playoffs. I commend Franklin for everything he’s done at Penn State. He’s still Franklin being Franklin even in the current 12 team playoff scenario. What really burned this team is the lack of a big play receiver. Drew Allar struggled, especially in the first half. Missing a wide open Nick Singleton for example, who would have scored on that play. I listened to the game on the radio. His passes were sailing high. I thought the coaches would settle him down and correct that problem during half time. As far as Franklin, it’s a very tough call. If he goes, things could go worse or stay the same. The old saying,”Careful what you wish for”, or buyers remorse. Now the argument will be…Hey, Franklin got them to the playoffs. I feel like Franklin is certainly a good coach, not great, or elite. I don’t know what the answer is.

      @@steelfan1970 agreed about having no receivers, which is also on Franklin. If penn state fans and community are fine with making the 12 team playoff majority of years and occasionally making a run to the semi's with a favorable bracket then he should stay. If more is wanted (and I think that feeling is growing more and more every year), then something needs to change. Can't blame him from drew I get that and yea Drew's throw to singleton was terrible.
      I love going to games but the last 3 years I have skipped the games against Ohio state and Michigan because I know deep down this team won't get the job done and I don't really feel like being disappointed in person by that.

    Another underwhelming performance by a james franklin coached team. At a school where football is the #1 priority of the athletic department, this loss can not feel good. psu had, by far, the easiest route to get into the national semi-final game and they failed when they got there. I am glad to see them lose in such a close game, because it just will just magnify the disappointment psu must feel. That being said, I want to congratulate psu HC james franklin on being the 1st African-American HC to lose a national semi-final game in the CFP format. "Big Game James" showed up at just the right time for the sport of college football. Thanks "Big Game"!!!

    Fair catch at the 2 yard line with 4 ND players surrounding you.
    Missing wide open TD throw to Singleton in the flat, TD wheel route to Allen, and easy big play pass to Warren.
    PSU secondary gets eaten by turf monster against a ND scrub WR for their longest passing TD of the season.
    Throwing on 1st down with 3 timeouts after you just gashed ND for 13 yards on the ground, ran it down their throats all game, had over 30 seconds left, and only needed about 40 more yards for a FG try, and had a lock for OT if you just kept it on the ground.
    Missing obvious check-down to Singleton who was WIDE OPEN in flat (as usual), only to throw late over the middle into tight coverage. Allar's explanation, "I was grounding the ball".

      As I was watching the game, I was wondering "who is the problem in the PSU Secondary?" Eventually, I had to look up who is #1 (it was Jaylen Reed), he was the problem, not just on the turf monster play (by that time I had already looked him up), he was repeatedly out of position or avoided contact to aggressively tackle. Weak Sauce!

    Zero receptions by receivers (what are they for?).
    Absolutely says it all.
    PSU cannot recruit, transfer in, nor produce elite receivers.

      I’m kind of relieved.
      The way Ohio State is playing, they would have destroyed this team in the National Championship. Franklin is the 9-3/10-2 version of Kirk Ferentz.

  • @richardbrown3061
    @richardbrown3061 8 часов назад +4

    It’s on the coaching staff. Allar isn’t the one making the decision to throw the ball. You were literally running the ball down their throats and you have the gall to pass the ball rather than run the clock out and go to overtime. In my opinion Allar is at best a 2 star QB. Dude missed an open Singleton in the end zone that cost us 4 points.

    • @JC-qh6wl
      @JC-qh6wl 2 часа назад +1

      @@johnvillella1087His point is that Allar doesn’t call the plays. He was playing like dog crap at point and cost the game with the INT but it was the coaches that made the decision to let him air the ball out anyway even though he played like that all game. It’s the classic Penn State coaching M.O. They ignore their guys that are cruising (the running backs) so they can let a mediocre QB throw the ball or run some trick play bullshit when the game is on the line and it costs them the game. Madden players could call better plays in crunch time.

    • @jarrodcordova9538

      @@JC-qh6wl Agreed! At that point you are not calling "progression" plays, they should be scripted to execute plays (i.e. see the end of the Boise State vs Oklahoma Fiesta Bowl) Bryan Harsin had those plays locked in, EXECUTE this EXACT play to give the team a chance to win.

    A talented but poorly coached team will beat mediocre teams bc of their talent. They will never beat a well coached team that is a contender. Fair catch on the 2= poor coaching. Not being able to score from the 2 yet again in a big game is poor coaching, wr having zero catches is poor coaching. KLS left the program and went to a bad auburn team and had a career year. JF is the problem…
