Webstrike Elite is great, in a very simple, utility way. Not only draw a card for the enchantment/artifact kill, but as cycling, it's NOT A SPELL, so it can't be countered by most counterspells. That's so good, on top of a great rate body. Damn nice little card.
I am glad you love this set, Dev. I do think I'd like this set much more if it came out in 2014 as a splash of different flavor and different times. It coming out now spoils a lot of the joy it could have had from me, between my frustrations at UB, my eye-rolling at the inundation of puns and on-the-nose tropes, and other frustrations I have with the set itself its bouncing off pretty hard. Spikeshell Harrier is an amazing card and reference, its just sideyes enough to be worth it, that card is gold, but everything else has me out. I hope its glorious for you!

I personally like the set, but the "wacky races/joke set/un-set/fortnite/mario kart/loot sucks/etc" comments are EVERYWHERE and it's really frustrating and repetitive. Dev is one of the few people who will actually evaluate cards and give them a chance instead of saying "I don't like this, it's cringe and bad" every 5 minutes, and even his comment section is not safe.
Crash and Burn - usually in limited we get a "deal 5 dmg + some upside" for 5 mana, and it can be sorcery speed. So this one seems really good relative to the more recent versions of this i've seen.

People don't like vehicles. Wrath protection isn't all that great when all the creatures are dead. Aside from that, set feels vintage in more than one way, and I like that.
Gastal Thrillroller I'm gonna try out in Gruul Delirium. I think it feels good in that sort of shell with it being an artifact to help trigger Delirium, and the recursion is nice. If you don't have Delirium yet then Beastie can pilot it. I think it's my favorite card so far.
Literally forgot dark steel Colossus was even standard legal. Haven't seen anyone playing it in the reanimator decks, even as a one of, which is nuts to me. Sure there's exile removal right now, but there's also still a lot of destroy removal.
Rover Blades ends up costing the same, as equipment, as Leyline Axe which also gives trample. So, yeah, it'll be interesting in limited but it's not cracking standard. I don't think crewing it makes up the difference.
Darksteel Colossus's ability isn't a triggered ability, but a replacement effect, and thus never technically hits the graveyard, so even instant speed graveyard recursion doesn't help.
I am looking forward to dying to a Phyrexian horde and then they cast Salvation Engine for a fast win. Like a white sun control deck needed more of this
@18:06: Kona works in a format where you don't consistently die by turn 3 assuming you never want to kill opponent's creatures. In the current meta, zero removal = guaranteed loss, unless you somehow beat the opponent faster. News flash: Kona is 4 mana and way too slow in this format to be effective. All these Elvish Piper effects are ungodly slow, and won't ever function in a format where Slickshot Show-Off and a bunch of other ultra fast cards are legal.
How are they going to release a card called Maximum Overdrive and not have it animate artifacts or at the very least turn all vehicles into artifact creatures (or remove pilot requirements)
StrangerThings instantly became my diamond in brute, loved the first season and how nostalgic it was for us born in the 80s, but then the innevitable happened: more seasons came shamelesly ruining every single good aspect about the original. Yet another one, yeah, they manage to do that, done it with Dark too. What a shame.
In standard MTGA, don't be upset if you see "Good Game" in every game you see Aetherdrift cards, all standard decks aim for turn 3 or 4 win state and aether aims for turn 5 or more. a set below average, empty, directionless (in video games: a filler patch) with some reinforcements to discard and return but nothing outstanding.

I’m surprised by how much I like this set. It’s still a hat set, but it doesn’t feel as egregious as thunder junction or karlov manor
Regarding Point the Way and the other speed cards, I suspect the Outlaws crime lands are gonna be helpful

Thrillroller also seems solid in the self discard deck that’s shaping up. Something you can discard for future value or an enabler

You can crew salvation engine with 2 thopters because of the passive. Thats not too bad.
