With Falco spara on the battlefield he can cast the tutored spell from the top immediately, so the worldly and enlightened tutors does function as card draw/an improved tutor in a creative way
Correct
Falco already had access to the top card of your library, effectively making it part of your hand. You're basically exchanging *that* card for whatever you get with your Worldly/Enlightened tutors, meaning your effective hand size is the same, but you spent a card to do so. Making it card negative as he says.
@@hardcoreironman3474entirely fair, but “B, discard a card: search your library for a card and add it to your hand” is quite solid. Not technically card draw, but incredible hand fixing which a lot of people hold in the same place in their head.
@ Maybe, it's still odd to put a net negative card effect as "card draw" to me.
@@hardcoreironman3474Eh, the point of card draw is to get the cards you want in your hand. If anything, it's addressing the problem even more directly.

Not Kylar... But Katilda, Dawnhart Prime actually makes a good humans/enchantress deck. A lot of enchantresses are just incidentally humans so you can tap them for mana to play more spells. Unlike a lot of enchantress decks, I didn't focus on tokens, I focused on counters.

Your description of the Yawgmoth deck sounds like every deck Joe Johnson plays. Won’t cut the mustard at a cEDH table, but will curb stomp most casual tables. Nothing against Joe, I like his content, but that just seems to be where all his decks live.

In deck number 1's defense. I had a bunch of thumming stones lying around too. I sold all but 4. Builder is old like me. It was a bulk rare at the time.
This is why you don't sell your rares unless you are absolutely okay with parting with them forever for the value offered. Thankfully I learned that lesson in 2004 and not 2025.

About the 2 tutors, you can cast from the top, so it's almost as good as going to hand.
Honestly its weird to me seeing the yawgmoth critique. I went out of the country and played at a local LGS in LA, and was just culture shocked by the power levels. I always thought i played casual and maybe even high power but the minute I pulled out my deck it was called CEDH. Dont get me wrong, i dont like the Yawgmoth deck in the video all too much for casual because of the ungodly amount of tutors (for reference, I run 0 and the only fast mana i have is dark ritual) but where I live we simply like optimizing our decks.
I agree with this, and it’s why there is that tidbit about “if you are at a table that likes this nothing I say matters”. It’s elaborated much more in the full stream (I think we keep like half of a sentence here) but I understand and support decks that are simply built for tables different from mine. The mechanical critiques of the deck still stand independent of whether it’s in an appropriate meta imo.
emergence zone is pretty neat in there yeah. enchantments in hand turn into combat tricks, and humans in hand turn into instant speed blockers that should win so long as kylar is protected

Since the roast, I've reworked the deck to be more focused on Enchantments/Auras with Calix, Guided by Fate as the cmdr and Kyler + Ellivere in the 99
I saw the thumbnail and grabbed my Kyler deck to compare. I was thrown off the old card comment from @maldhound . I was expecting way more old school jank. I have a bunch of white border era cards in mine - Benalish Hero, Abu Jafar, Trap Runner, Augur ill-Vec, Soul Sculptor, General Jarkeld . . . Half the time it wins it’s because my opponents are confused by what my motley collection of humans do.
As a person who had Kyler as their first deck / precon, I love my Kyler, you let me have my bad cards in peace!

I had Tyler as a commander for a humans deck, but then I switched it to torrens, and the deck ran so much smoother
Gonna need to take a peek under the hood of that sultai deck. I have a GB "super acquaintances" deck.. it's more like a supersized 1v1 midrange deck. Probably my favorite brew.

That Kyler deck is so weird, Mine is a bunch of cheap ways to ramp and protect him, then when he comes out he doesn't die, drop a few humans and its swinging time
If you're doing enchantments, especially auras in Selesnya, Calix, Guided by Fate is a must. Calix might be even better than Ellivere as a commander, you get double value on your enchantments and he's 1 mana cheaper.
I have been thinking to update my Kylar deck and add some enchantment, but that is because I got Cathar's Call yesterday. My thought has been adding things that make human tokens. At least maximising the amount of humans beyond just playing a creature.
I think before my deck was just good human creatures, but I want to go back in to add ramp, protection and then ways to just flood humans in, with possibly some sort of wide evasion.
As someone who run a kyler deck it's a human tribal +1 +1 it's basically every other +1 deck expect you put them all on him and he makes them all powerful. But he will be targeted a lot for that reason.

Little low on slimes in that first deck. You're mostly gonna be hitting 2 or 3 triggers each cast with the occasional like 10 slime chain here and there. Cut the removal and up the slime count. Like sure, that'll be more than enough for most games, but there ain't no point in thrumming if you ain't gonna go all out.

I’m both aware of this and not confident on how I can “up” it, changing to this thumbnail format was a meaningful boost in viewership and they are stream highlights so there isn’t a big narrative arc to have the thumbnail play off. I appreciate the feedback!

Saying "wipes to farewell" isn't helpful. Literally the only thing that doesn't wipe to farewell is land ramp.
I think hes just trying to point out that any go wide boardwipes would be able to swipe its little enchanted legs out from underneath it.
There is certainly a better way to word this, the core thrust is that a deck I would call “well built” is almost always ABLE to rebuild after a wipe so long as they retain their lands, the decks I say fold to farewell, I don’t mean they should be able to dodge farewell, I mean that it leaves them on “land pass” for 4+ turns after farewell which is a sign of poor construction unless you are deliberately playing an aggro strategy
