It was criminal Disney didn't even give him the right of first refusal for Scar in the 2019 film. Chiwetel Ejiofor did his best in the role, but it just wasn't the same.

yeah it is quite insulting how mediocre the lion king (2019) is compared to how grandiose and well made the original lion king was. according to other interviews disney never contacted him about the role.
Who else needs an audio book with this man’s voice?
There is a fantastic version of Lolita read by Irons. Best audio production of a book of all time in my opinion.

I know there are a ton of actors with distinct voices and cadences but Jeremy Irons is right at the top of that list, along with James Earl Jones, Mark Hamil, Morgan Freeman, and Samuel L Jackson.

Jeremy Irons is literally one of very few actors that has such an iconic and unique voice along with James Earl Jones, Josh Brolin, and Morgan Freeman. I can listen to these men's voices all day.
I would replace Brolin with Sean Connery or Anthony Hopkins

@@emilyzetzsche2390 it’s too bad Jeremy Irons and Alan Rickman never shared the screen together even though they played brothers in Die Hard with Rickman as Hans Gruber and Die Hard With A Vengeance with Irons as Simon Gruber out for revenge against John McClane (Bruce Willis) after Hans was killed off in the first Die Hard in 1988.

TLK used computers way more than you're assuming. It was used to animate the stampede, as well as special effects, compositing, and ink-and-paint.

Me too! I was quite young. And I would play around my house pretending I was scar. I would sing be prepared all day long. I think what really attracted me to scar was his colour scheme, that immediately drew me in. And two his voice.

Has he did anything else after he made the movie Lolita? Because I know a lot of people wanted his ass for that. He was getting a lot of hate mail for that movie and he was getting death threats as well.
I think the next year (after Lolita) it was released The Man in the Iron Mask, so I think the Lolita didn't damage his career. Besides, there are a few making of videos out there and the production has a double actress for certain adult scenes.

With all due respect to Chiwetel Ejiofor Jeremy Irons IS Scar Ejiofor did a good job with Scar but there's no comparison to Jeremy.
I'm still questioning why Irons didn't return to voice Scar in The Lion Guard show and in the live action remake; Chiwetel Ejofor didn't make a great perfomance in the remake, at least Disney could have cast Gary Oldman or Ralph Fiennes as Scar.😞🤨

I understand Disney was probably afraid to cast a white actor for the remake for fear of (nonexistent in this case) backlash but they brought back James earl jones for mufasa, they should have brought him back as scar. His voice as that character was every bit as iconic for the role as mufasa’s was.
