Many of you claim they can access KuCoin, but they're overlooking the main message of the video. KuCoin serves as just one example for me. If you established your account or downloaded their app before the 2023 Crypto regulations took effect, you likely won't encounter issues logging in. It's crucial to remain focused, folks. The video's main focus isn't KuCoin; they're merely mentioned alongside Tangem and other entities. The title remains: "Is Using a VPN To Buy Crypto In The UK Legal?"
What is the best strategy to succeed in the market now for someone with more or less than $13k
You need a pro or someone good at navigating the market. Someone like Jared Brian Watkins
Almost gave up due to constant losses, but Jared turned my luck around
Leveraging market changes is a remarkable talent Jared has

What happened to the government announcing plans to make Britain a global hub for cryptoasset technology and investment. Full of shxte really.
They can be a hub for Blockchain technology, the investment side maybe not. There are lots of companies in the UK who use private blockchain technology. A local business near me is using a private blockchain to secure and audit medical records. You do not need the assets we all have grown to love.
They will be, just as soon as they fuck all the working class over first. They foretold tell us all that we will all be taxed also. Come on the whole world is curupt. What we all need to need. Is when we all get rich from crypto is use all our money too fight all these people people. Until we all can stand and look over the graves of these so called people
They’re nowhere near. All the top crypto development is happening in Asia
It’s bullshit. Unelected Sunak is a idiot
They want to be a hub so they can control it and protect the banks, their big corporate buddies and none elected organisations that want us living in 15 minute cities 👍🏻. It’s certainly not for our benefit.
It looks like self-custody is the way to go for Brits who live on Prison Island.
@@petejames4672True. But I would be looking to get off Prison Island at this point, never to return.
I'm not a bitcoin maximalist
@@petejames4672It’s a shame that last cycle 🔁 “mode” shut down! They were a decentralised cash out service that I used once when Binance temporarily blocked fast payments .
Definitely self custody but for now we do still need to use fiat. Circular economies 👍
Can.see the only legal way to buy bitcoin will be etf or coinbase. All buys sells reported to local tax dept
The whole process is made as troublesome as possible to stress and demoralise users. It's also a way of testing how far can our human rights be impinged upon by the banks: do the people tacitly consent by not actively pushing back? This should make us more determined to fight the system and to support each other. I'm not an expert on our contitutionall rights, but I have a strong suspicion that they are being tested. I use PIA and they are easy to use and they say they don't save data on us.
I'm looking forward to your off ramping video. When I off ramp eventually, I think I will need proffessional financial advice from those who are versed in cryto. I won't be able to just take thousands out without dealling with AML and other things. We will need a list of the right advisers. Thanks for your videos. Keep up the fight everyone, this is a test.
@@peterrogers7800 I'm listening if you want to enlighten me. I'm just here trying to make sense of it all.
100% agree with this. I've said it for years.
Is trading a fictious asset / currency legal?
Hi Will, having also worked and still work in the IT sector and also in the financial sector I know that if you put rules in to stop techies from doing something they are a creative bunch and will find ways around most things. The aim for the FCA is to take these services out of reach from the vast majotiy of Joe Public. There will always be methods as I suspect the main fallback position is exchanges like Coinbase. Personally I never off-ramp because if I want to spent I use one of my charge cards which work perfectly well. Enjoy your videos.
How does taxes work when using charge cards? Is that not a form of off ramping and as a result a taxable event?
Great content. Great topics for the UK. Keep it coming 🙂
TAP app works fine for UK users, and is FCA compliant.
I just put some money on the tangent card I switch my VPN to Switzerland. It worked perfectly going to try it later with ledger. I will let you know. 🇬🇧
Thanks for your insights, would like to know more on UK crypto accountants & financial advice, don’t want to exchange into fiat, please
Never had an issue with Kucoin accessing it from a UK IP address and in the last week have purchased with UK debit card, again without issues. I find I have to use a VPN to access a increasing number of DEXs, many who simply display a website consisting of one paragraph of plain text indicating the do not support UK users. Looking forward to the off-ramping video!!.
I use kucoin every day np
I haven't had an issue either.
Me neither, though can't on/off ramp with them directly which is a pain
Kucoin, finance, and kraken no problem but can't on ramp via bank accounts debit coin too expensive. I on ramp via swissborg no problem
@@samanthawaterhouse5931 👍I find swissborg, revolute (if forced) or Babb virtual card (FCA regulated) good for on/off ramping in UK market. Trying to use any CEX on ramping payment providers gets blocked every time by RBS
This kind of authoritarian and restrictive behaviour is more support for "not your keys, not your coins".
Imagine you left some crypto in an exchange and didn't log in for a year. Meanwhile your access is blocked and you can't log in. Maybe the web site is completely blocked...
It’s happened to many 1000’s of people. Cex’s no different to centralised banking system and look at how many have been de-banked and savings frozen ! It begs the question who are the “real” criminals ? 😅
You will have to move to a country allowing it and only 1 out of 200odd said no to CBDCS. We'll have the BritCoin as our L2 or Web3+. Like ETH/SOL.
Map to the Blockchain.
Banning VPN's will happen imo. A rug pull waiting to happen.
If you login from say Swiss node you still transact with your card , unless spare PP or other prepaid option from said place!
Thanks concise and useful. Looking forward to your off ramp video as I am hoping to take profits if we moon in this bull run. For instance how difficult would it be to off rump day 1 btc for fiat - would I get grief from a uk bank
The million quid question... There's a lot of work to go into an off-ramping video, but it is in the works. 😎
@@btcbiker thanks for replying - bikes and btc are a perfect combination! I held all the way to the last ATH and didn’t take profits and don’t want to make the same mistake.

Thanks so much for all your help and advice BTC Biker! Very appreciated
My pleasure!
Nope…the user wouldn’t get in trouble….it will be the service provider (exchange) that gets in trouble if they get caught which is unlikely unless they require kyc. The only real way is if they make vpns illegal.
Hi buddy I am using express vpn there are lots to choose from Inc surf shack etc... I lose connection a fair bit with express and was thinking about changing what makes PIA the one to get ? is it better Than the others ? Tha k you
I haven't used express vpn, but I've been using PIA for years and it's been great for me. I started using it because running my own proxy was too much and support the VPN clients I had got to be a pain.
love your vid. real information
Thanks mate for info
Thanks for all your time, great show keep it coming ,
I just put some money on the tangent card switch my VPN to Switzerland and it works perfectly going to try it later with ledger. I will let you know.🇬🇧 1:14
Will - how does a VPN protect you from exchanges or hackers in terms of security rather than using your own... what difference is there ? As i dont seem to think there potentially is any. Thanks
The video is primarily about using a proxy to change your online geographical location, rather than security. What do you mean by using your own? Own IP address or own proxy server? Have a look at the graphic that I put in the video.
what's wrong with off ramping via Coinbase, seems easy enough and now uphold sends gb direct back to your registered card. great video as always and look forward to your next one.
if your gonna off ramp some $$$, more than 3k, less than 6K do it before April.
@@hongk0ngfu3y why is that?
Well how the hell did I KYC into a bitget account last week from the UK last week none of this makes any sense? (never has really)
Found off ramping very tricky. Binance went with. Had to P2P as their UK payment arm froze. Prob UK change legislation. Couldn’t sell crypto to Fiat in GBP USD AUD EUR. Anything. So used Coinbase. Very expensive. So I use advanced sell orders smaller fees. Then sent Revolut as Santander hate crypto. Please please do the offramping. I managed it. Took about 10-12 hours messing to get it go slick.
I can assure you an off-ramping video is on the top of my list, it's just not so easy to do, but there are at least two I have in mind.

I have to use coinbase now prefer binance I can still access binance just won't allow me to buy in £s . I wonder if you use a vpn then the bank card will not be able to use as they don't except £s
if you try, do let us all know how you get on?
Were you able to buy it through your bank card?
they carnt make using a VPN illegal as you use other networks when on holiday and if they made them illegal you wud not be able to use mobile every time you travel!!! its just control
ive not had a problem with kucoin so far, might need to check a vpn out
Too many people rely on vpns to sheild their traffic when putting in seed phrases and passwords where the vpn provider as far as i can tell could see all that traffic people put through it 🤔
There are a lot of VPN scam providers. The point of a VPN is it's encrypted and any decent proxy provider can Not see inside the tunnel you create when you connect to the proxy.
Great stuff thanks
Great informative video brother, please make a video on vpns and how to use them I'm also from the uk s anything crypto related to the uk is interesting to me, thanks
Thanks for taking the time to comment.
I'm not sure that a video about how to use a VPN keeps in with the with the ethos of my channel, but I will take your suggestion onboard.
Thanks for the great advice I’ve been trying to figure out how to buy other uk banned cryptos
Glad to help
if you have crypto on an exchange that is blocked in the UK then does that mean its exempt from the HMRC wanting there cut of your profit. I wouldnt feel comfortable with a large amount of crypto on an exchange that i need to use a vpn to access. Could the exchange seize your crypto?
Good point. I'm sure the HMRC will want CGT on any profit that you put into any uk account no matter what. But I might be wrong...
@@btcbiker HMRC want the tax but have blocked access. Its almost laughable.
I think of VPN to provide a secure link to the exchange. But I believe the wallet software used to move crypto to the exchange produces a secure link anyway.
You have that wrong. A VPN creates a secure connection to the VPN proxy server you connect to. All internet traffic in that encrypted tunnel, including the IP packets when you connect to your exchange is also secure because it's in a private connection.
Hey mate, can you please do a video on crypto tax rules in the UK?
I already have, it's in my channel, but here's the link: ruclips.net/video/H6SXRHPHlcU/видео.html

Glad you enjoyed it
They just want to slow it all down ?
FYI - I have a Kucoin account in UK, had for > 1 year and don’t need a VPN???
That's great - I do!
Looking forward to the off ramping vid. This is my biggest issue in the UK. All that potential money and no way to cash it.
I can assure you an off-ramping video is on the top of my list, it's just not so easy to do, but there are at least two I have in mind.
Make sure you have subscribed and click the notification bell icon to get notified when I upload.
The only payment processor I’m able to use in the UK is Ramp. It’s fine if you don’t buy large amounts or too many small amounts in a short space of time.
I think the majority of obstructions have been put in place by and for the banks, not because the government is anti-crypto?
Thanks Will. I dont use a VPN. Able to use coinbase and crypto wallet (via uniswap etc...) to buy crypto I want.
Am very interested in the upcoming off-ramping video you mention. My worse fear is I sell my crypto at huge profit, incurring huge tax event tax bill, then find I cant cash out and have a tax bill I cant pay because I dont have access to my profits.
It could be that the whole point of crypto was to bypass fiat. Maybe be wrong but i think that is why banks don’t want to compete with retail. Only a few banks ok with crypto in UK atm. Think some will specialise and will develop to sell at higher prices perhaps. Banks could just bypass retail altogether. No financial advice just thoughts. Whatever which way; we haven’t got an invitation to the party 😂
I would urge the use of a VPN, especially when accessing bank websites, HMRC, investment share accounts etc. in case there are vulnerabilities in your network.
Great videos.
I am in uk also.
Could you do a video sometime about tax on crypto in the UK and is there a way around it?
Do you need a specific accountant.
Any information would be great.thanks

Hi, latest video which I found most interesting seems to have disapeared from this channel. It was titled,
Crypto straight to your Visa card: crypto exchanges are OUT!
Has RUclips removed it?
No, I removed it. There was an error in it. Transak, although partnered with Visa declined a transfer from me last night to my Wise Visa Debit Card, so I took it down because part of it was no longer correct. I'll be reposting another soon.
This all makes sense, but surely One would encounter problems when trying to complete KYC verification?
Yes, One would. Then you would need a Pilau digital ID, but that's not the point of the video which is about accessing services that were previously available but have blocked UK IP's.
Try cashing out, it's even harder
I use BC Bitcoin, they have now relocated to Lithuania and operate under their rules, works fine In the UK and they are super good to deal with, great customer service, bit expensive but hey?
Sadly they have a notice on their website that says "Temporarily Unavailable" When I used a VPN and reloaded, it worked. Proves my point...
I think its only the phone line thats una vailable? @@btcbiker

Love your videos!! Were can I actually buy Bitcoin as a first times ?

Ok thx I enjoy your content! I would appreciate you also talk about… since I’m using Switzerland IP VPN. can I still use my UK Billing address
Nice❤
Why did you cut your tangem card?
I'd like to know this too 👍
I covered it in a previous video, but as I said in this video, I'll be making another video about it soon.
Gov knows u are on vpn and personally was asked if I’m in or out uk. Exchanges blocking VPN are any in USA as u can’t tell?
ISPs know when a VPN is being used but can't see what you are doing in a VPN Tunnel. Anyone and any exchange can see if a proxy server is being used and what the location of the IP address is. You can look that up with a simple "Whois" request. I did say in the video that there is no reason why an exchange can't block IP addresses from proxies. But I'm not so sure they would bother. The government does not know you are using a VPN unless they are looking for you for some other reason and request that data from your ISP.
Which exchanges are blocking Proxy IP addresses?
If u use gov app or web site account I think the can tell if u use it. Personally was challenged after using gov provided web site with account and they rang me with questions. Which exchange blocks vpn in USA was my question as u couldn’t name them in video. So just asked u if any in USA
Can you use vpn to use okx trading bots ?
I don't know but perhaps someone else here can answer your question.
I use Kucoin without any problem!
I don't use the app I just log in on a PC, works great.
As far as Im aware/concerned - buying crypto in the UK is not illegal. It is not outlawed.
Its the offering crypto financial services that are being restricted and regulated.
Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Buy or selling crypto is not what am worried about there is 100s of ways to do that. Getting the money in or out your bank account thats what am worried about.
Wirex?
I will be covering this more in another video.
Heck no. Worse than Revolut
Don’t off-ramp, start buying and selling with likeminded crypto people, keep the banks totally out of it, that’s what they are trying to prevent….
Totally agree with you. I have a video coming up about this very thing.
Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Thanks Will! Good idea, will give it a bash. I’m guessing though that a proxy server will show up and could easily be refused by companies running scared from uk regulators 😡 keep up the vids 👌🏼
Thank you.
You are right. Many companies do block ip address and or subnets that are from a proxy server, so yes they can always do that. I know of one UK based exchange that already does this.

I really do not want my crypto stolen, so I use only regulated companies.
That's great.
ISP know when you use a vpn, they can simply stop you accessing things if you have one, and banks can stop you buying it regardless,
Yes, your ISP can see your VPN server's IP address. But it can't see anything else. This means that your ISP can probably tell that you're using a VPN, but it cannot track your online activity, see the pages you visit, the files you download, or anything else you do on the internet.

If VPN was to become illegal... How woukd they know we're using it? 😁
Exactly
Binance is a big one
You will still be using a non fca approved site in the UK whether you use a VPN or not. You are just finding a way to be able to do it.
Further problems will appear when you have to do your capital gains tax, your still a resident of UK and there will be a trail of where you traded or at least the above 10% of assets of you spent over that. I should imagine there is no way around it from a legal stand point.just because you've found a way to do something doesn't mean you are allowed to do it
U can just buy it at one those banned exchanges, send it to your waller and when u want to cash out just find exchange which is not banned in the UK, simple
Using Non Compliant FCA sites could lead to you being investigated, or accounts frozen in future for AML checks.
You have that wrong. The transport protocol has nothing to do with the wallet address. A VPN simply circumvents a block on IP address ranges that identified as either a UK range and or a possible UK subnet mask.
@@curtisbainbridge727 it could be same for trading at dexes so u end up at the same point anyway
All I no is that is far far to many scammers fake platforms liers 😡😡😡
Trading on a decentralized exchange/platform is now illegal in the UK. It's a way to cease your assets. for example, say there's a coin you're interested in but it's not listed on any centralized exchanges but is listed on a decentralized one, the government can then swoop in and cease your asset claiming that your acquired it illegally and could face prosecution on top of that.
No, that's not correct.
Trading on a decentralized exchange/platform is not illegal in the UK. However, regulatory restrictions apply, and traders must comply with KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) requirements. UK citizens can lawfully exchange cryptoassets on foreign exchanges as long as they report gains accurately. While some crypto firms have suspended services in the UK due to regulatory changes, trading itself remains legal. It's crucial for traders to stay updated on regulatory developments and comply with relevant laws and guidelines to ensure lawful trading activity.
