Not too sure what I make of the Evo.

@@jonathanbrewer7072 Evo is a great board since it doesn't require you to use a tablet. It has its own tablet. It is great for learning with training tools. I do wonder what happens if the screen gets damaged for instance. I don't think there is a way to use it with a tablet. That would be nice. To have that option.

I like your video. I notice the Evo did not play so well in this demo against the Square Off. However, I'm wondering what is the specification of your tablet compared to that of the Evo? It could be an unfair match if your tablet is faster. An important factor when pitting one machine against another is the speed of each machine as obviously a faster machine will be able to look further ahead in the same time. ELO ratings are okay, but are dependant on how they have been calculated and could differ from one machine to another.

EVO has 3 engines, Maia, Stockfish and LC0. Its Stockfish is rated 2850 at this point, which seems not full strength. Square Off is full strength or close to that for Stockfish.
EVO has 8 cores. The iPad is a few years old. Honestly, these matches are fun and give you a "rough" idea how strong these engines are but the hardware is tough to match. I think for more of us, we will never beat Stockfish whether 2850 or 3200 ELO

@@Gadgetify Yes, definitely strong enough for most of us. I'm quite interested in watching games between different chess programs and this is why I mentioned about speed of the machine often having a significant affect. I also notice both machines were playing very quickly, is that because of the level or do they both just move nearly immediately?

I don't know if worth the Chess nut Evo, do you recommend me? I am a beginner!, the same question for Square Off Grand Kingdom (I know that both maybe can be for different things), thank you very much.

I think Chessnut Air is perfectly fine if you don't mind using a tablet to play on Lichess and those platforms. Chesssnut Evo is a wonderful board because of AI trainable engine and all the fun features but really depends what you want your board to do. Same with Square Off. It is a fun board but do you need a self moving board?
I have covered a bunch of boards here: ruclips.net/video/O5YaC2pz5bw/видео.html
If I may ask, what exactly are you looking for your board to do? self move, training, platforms to play online, offline play?

@@Gadgetify thank you very much for you answer, my objective is to learn chess and be able to connect with online platforms, self move is not something interesting for me, but the difference is USD169 + Shipping and USD450 + Shipping, the difference is big!, that why I need to be sure that worth it.

@@victorariasvanegas7407I would get the evo, I’m new to chess to only 2 months of playing and if you do research on the evo it offers so many features to help beginners improve like, customise train engines, analyse, and move evaluation.
