I have heard Adnan Sami playing piano, but this is classic Sami on snatoor with Zakir Hussain on tabla. Hakir has mastery of his Dad Allrakha. Somtime we feel tabla more pridominate. I really enjoyed the duet. Thanks for putting on RUclips.

Adnan Sami is on Piano and Ustad Zakir Hussain on Tabla. I do not know where Santoor came in. The sound of Santoor is quite different than this music on Piano & Tabla.

Dear penta15786 it is electric Piano which Sami has specially modified to sound like santoor. plz see his other videos where himself clarifies about this.

Are you absolutely sure this is Durga? The Gaandhaar is quite clear. This seems to be Bhoopali. Durga, by definition, requires a Madhyam.

      This is Raga Durga.

You are right. It lacks the aroma.

It is played in C# pitch, listen carefully to the tabla. Take madhyam of Durga as shadaj and you get Bhoopali.

    • @avi111986

@@abhigyandasgupta7730 yeah, theory of Graha Bhedam is well-known and quite obvious.
But if the artist wants to do that, they or the uploader need to explain that upfront.
Also, playing Durga in C# by itself doesn't actually change the scale. That detail is irrelevant.

Isn't it? You can hear the Gaandhaar quite clearly. Durga's *signature* is the divine Madhyam which, in this case, is missing.
