I just use Nivea aftershave balm. It is cheap and good (and Sven reccomended it in the "Cheap but awesome" video). Tell me in the comments what products you use for shaving. I would love to hear from you gentlemen.
Shaving soaps/creams: Proraso Red and White, Trumper's Spanish Leather. After Shave: Pitralon, Old spice, Lohse Uralt Lavendel Despite Raphael's preference for non-alcoholic after shave lotions, I personally prefer the astringent and antiseptic burn of classic after shaves.
I use Nivea too, works great for me. I also use beard oil and balm on alternating days. My cologne is Burberry Summer at the moment, but I'm looking forward to switching to a more cold weather scent. What is your cologne of choice? I'd like to hear that too :D
@@dominikfulop7188 Yeah Nivea is great. Unfortunately, I am still searching for a cologne/parfume of choice and, because I'm still quite young, developing my sense for scents.
I believe in taking care of myself. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on a face pack while doing my crunches. After removing the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion and in the shower I use a water activated honey almond gel scrub. Then I apply an herb mint facial mask and leave it on for ten minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an aftershave lotion with little or no alcohol because...... oops sorry, I had Patrick Bateman moment....
You should NOT rub the perfume like he did in 4:39. It changes the smell since the friction leads to a lot of heat. The top notes will easily dissipate and you'll have a worse experience.
The thumbnail shows a bottle of Trumper's "Spanish Leather" (presumably in it's weakest "splash" concentration), which I liked for many reasons. I would highly recommend Trumper's whole lineup of classic men's fragrances; some of them like "Marlborough" have been around since the 19th century and haven't been suffering from grave reformulations like so many other old fragrances did over the course of the decades. Apart from that, their scent profile is SO old, that it actually resembles no associations with "grandpa" colognes for our modern noses. Colognes like "Eucris" or "Astor" simply smell timeless, yet surprisingly unique and very, very different from pretty much everything you find on the shelves today.
Who else here loves the smell of after-shave and cologne? 😍 By the way, you should use SPF after lotion and not before, and you should not rub the cologne on your wrist. The friction can cause heat that will affect the scent.
Technically perfume is still used to refer to women's fragrance. Parfum refers to the oil concentration of a men's or women's fragrance. Cologne is still used to refer to men's fragrance as well as its oil concentration.
First I was wondering if I was living with wrong information, but scrolling through the comments, I realised I'm not the only one who will advise against rubbing perfume or cologne when applying it.
Spraying on clothes is totally a valid option if you're not getting enough longevity! Also, you can't go by perfume concentration. There are eau de toilettes that clobber the parfum version of the same line in performance.
Love the video very informative. It's great to see these videos cause this is the information I never got growing up than again I never had my father around or good father figures during my early years Love the videos all the way from the sf bay area
I would like an addendum to this video about layering with beard balm/oil. Its a small thing but I'm sure there is enough of us who watch this video with a well trimmed beard.
I would rather put the lotion on before an SPF. Sunscreen creates a thin layer on the skin if applied properly, and it shouldn't be disrupted or else there will be openings that are exposed to the sun. Rubbing a lotion over it may not only disrupt the layer but it could also mix with the sunscreen, rendering the chemicals in its formula weaker. Therefore I think it's better to put sunscreen on as the last step, once the lotion has dried. And then of course you can use perfume haha.
After shaving, I dab a little bit of alcohol on irritated, redish areas of my neck to numb the itchiness, although I am now going to look for witch hazel (hamamelis). After that, I apply a balm that I made myself with several natural oils and wax to keep the skin from becoming too dry and tight. Finally, if I feel like it, I'll apply some fragrance, but not on my throat, just on the chest. I think that is all one needs, really. Applying too many products (especially synthetic ones) might be "gentlemanly" but not manly, imo.
If you have irritated areas you might want to try safety razors. They are much better and also drastically cheaper than modern razors, plus you can get a closer shave, but it does take a bit more time to shave. I had the same problem and it's the multiple blades razors that caused it for me. Single blade safety razors have never caused reddish areas for me and they work better to boot.
It's a pulse point, helps the fragrance last longer. I personally like it because I get to smell it throughout the day. Are you afraid it hurts your masculinity and a follow up to that question would be - Are you 12 years old?...
@Murican Ignorance Only if you dull the top note by rubbing your wrists together, even then it barely changes. If it is a high-quality fragrance, it should smell the same no matter where you put it, hence why many high-quality fragrances are put directly into other products without any additives.
Given how much subscribers you have how about you tune down the volume of intro music? I know the music is great. But the voice is inaudible compared to the music. I watch late in the evening and I the music starts yelling at me and my neighbours and I have to go for the volume setting as quickly as possible.
Technically, the translation of "eau de toilette" into "toilet water" is a mistake! "Toilette" can mean a toilet, but it also means "grooming", which is how it's being used in this context. It should be translated as "grooming water".
I just spray perfume directly onto clothes in my wardrobe. That way a faint scent permeates the clothes and makes them smell nice without it being obnoxiously potent. I hate strong scents on men.

Hattric, Pitralon, Proraso - strong alcoholic ones! However Nivea products are very good also generally.
A classic Nivea shaving cream... In my view, it's the best shaving cream. I also use a ManCave face scrub before and a Bulldog moisturiser after.

This is true
Hugo Costa Spray the perfume and leave it alone.
I yelled at the screen and hoping someone in the comments caught this!!
Are we not supposed to tap instead of rub it in ???
Spray and let your skin chemistry take over
I commend your ability to present the subject. It's actually like you're talking to me (the audience) one on one or face to face. Wonderful work!
Oh yeah that black household bathing in lotion comment was hilarious. I 100% grew up with that.

I love witch hazel, my dad used to use it and it brings back such great memories when I get a whiff of it these days.
I've actually never used it, but I'm intrigued now. How would you describe the scent?

Never rub your perfume!!! It destroys the smell
the cheap cologne that is not par-fume strength has a butane base, which is one of the main reasons it seems to quit working faster
4:39 could be the biggest mistake with cologne. You destroy the perfume.
"In today's video, well be discussing how to best layer aftershave, lotion and cologne"
*Immediately proceeds the video by rubbing cologne.*
I already know it’s going to be a good video
Love the video !! We would love to see more of him.
Now THAT was a useful video, really well presented.

Shave, apply after shave then apply moisturiser. Finish off with your preferred smelley.

Can i use aftershave as a cologne or parfume?
@@aldobega2649
It depends on the type of after shave. I have aftershave that can out perform cologne.
My post shave routine witchazel then aftershave/cologne then out the door.Might through a balm in there every once in a while.
After getting out the shower,Should you apply the cologne and unsented lotion skin cream after or lotion then cologne??
Q: What should I be doing between shaves, since I don’t shave daily?
brother could you please recommend me 5 perfumes that smells like shaving cream?
Cheers Kyle 👍
Whats the difference between after shave liquid and after shave balm?

Will a aftershave cologne project the same and work the same as a spray cologne? Please let me know
I have seen splash on aftershaves that can out perform spray cologne.
Great video thanks .
Sorry Kyle, but rubbing your fragrance in on your wrists is a no-no.
lol, I just watched this video and cringed when I saw that as well... lol.
Dabbing is the most one can do without heating anything up!

Why hasn't somebody not yet made a "Before-shave" lotion?! 😎
Cologne CAN expire and go bad. And also , you should spray on your skin as well as clothes-cologne actually lasts longer on clothes
Watch curly fragrance?
You should keep the cologne in the fridge so the oils always be at their best condition
Starting to get a strong American Psycho vibe around 4:22 or so.
How toget in india
Kyle is one of those people that smells nice through the screen.
Found an old half empty cologne bottle the other day that must have been lying around for years. Didn't smell nice any more.

Once U RUBBED THE COLOGNE ,THUMBS DOWN, RUBBING KILLS THE FRAGRANCE DNA
NEVER RUB YOUR Perfume etc.
Never rub in your aftershave let it dry
You sure about the pores thing? I done research before and found out that pores actually don't open or close.
Don’t rub the cologne in it messes up the fragrance and the longevity of the fragrance
Wrong. Spraying fragrance on your clothing is essential for making it last. It lasts longer on fabric than skin
This channel always has good information but if I am to tell the truth, I really watch it because I live hearing his German accent.
