Those aren't really weapon systems, they are actually smoke grenade launchers - you will always see them on tanks, IFVs, and armoured carriers. It's actually a very nice touch and shows the attention to real-world military details that GS puts into their designs. You can imagine the Televiper popping some smoke grenades inorder to hide the mech from any GI Joe anti-tank weapons.
I had no idea! Thank you for letting me know! I'll be getting a few more upgrade kits to do reviews on so I'll be sure to correct it in future videos. I'm looking forward to animating smoke grenade effects in the next one!
I just saw after reading your comment! And here I thought I my next Gridiron review would be on the Mech Upper Kit! 😅 It's pricey, but it looks so good! I'm ordering mine tonight! Thanks for watching and for letting me know!
I looked through gridironprops.com and didn’t see any color ways that matched the Python Patrol Flight Pod, but I figure if there is enough demand you’ll see a red and yellow variant of the upgrade kits soon enough.
GI Joe's current mission? To capture a fully function Cobra Mech, reverse engineer it, and build one of their own. Even the allies had to admit that the Germans came up with great designs for their Jerry gas cans and the MG42.
Well in a way you’re kind of right. If you want all three upgrade kits to transform the flight pod into a fully realized mech, it will set you back about $150 before taxes. Each kit costs about $50.
If the top and bottom piece was 50$ I could justify it. But the two pieces costing more than the original joe pod is unforgivable. Even if the two parts somehow make a mech without the pod. Thankfully since its just 3d printed, you can design and print your own with a little know-how.
I agree. If each kit was even just $25 a piece, I think it would truly be perfect. When the Mech Lower went up initially, they were about $40 before the price jumped. As cool as it is, that $50 price point is going to scare a lot collectors away unfortunately. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
@alanthecollector I get it the look of it. But for me, I think it just makes more sense to have mine flying because it makes them more mobile. I did see the other upgrades. But they didn't do anything for me. However, all the Vamp upgrades are amazing. Great content. Keep the videos coming, man!
I appreciate the feedback. I’m definitely ordering the other two upgrade kits to see this mech fully realized. If it wasn’t for the expense, I’d purchase quite a few more. I’ll do my best to get more videos pumped out on a more predictable schedule! I hope you and others continue to stick around!

Nice. Considering it's coming from gridiron studios it probably cost $120.for this addon

Yeah a guy with a rifle is more mobile than this.
Yeah, but does he look as cool and have hip-mounted cannons?! That’s right, I bet he doesn’t! 🤣 Thanks for watching!
