This my very first purchase from them, but I recently bought the other two upgrade kits that go with these mech lower legs. They are pricey so I need to be selective in the future, but I’m impressed with what I’ve seen so far.
@@alanthecollector Love it! It’s all the articulation that I personally need. Others may complain about every joint not being able to move but it’s honestly not needed. It’s very posable and like said it can stand on one leg. I actually went and bought 2 more flight pods so that I can pimp them all out. Now I have a total of 6, excluding my 4 python 🐍 patrol ones. The Mech addition is so cool!

I'm excited about it but i dunno if I'll army build this for the others until/if there's a substantial sale.

If the top and bottom piece was 50$ I could justify it. But the two pieces costing more than the original joe pod is unforgivable. Even if the two parts somehow make a mech without the pod. Thankfully since its just 3d printed, you can design and print your own with a little know-how.
I agree. If each kit was even just $25 a piece, I think it would truly be perfect. When the Mech Lower went up initially, they were about $40 before the price jumped. As cool as it is, that $50 price point is going to scare a lot collectors away unfortunately. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

It wouldn't be the first time if they did. My guess or hope is that instead of releasing an add-on kit, they would instead make an entirely new Mark-II Flight Pod that would serve as the main body of the and updated S.N.A.K.E. Armor. I would honestly fine if they went that route and I could just use these mechs as prototypes of the concept.
😂😂😂...Those machines are probably just as safe as carnival rides too! The 3rd upgrade kit from gridironprops.com gives their legs and lower body some much needed protection!
The color is a bit off, but I was surprised by how close they matched it. The biggest difference aside from the color is the rougher 3D printed texture and matte finish on the legs opposed to the smooth slightly glossy look of the flight pod.
@alanthecollector the Legs look more white and the Pod looks more grey. The Legs do have a less polished look too. If you wanted to fix the color and finish you could probably do it with a tinted polish compound and buffer. To bad the manufacturer didn't do this already. Also, this being an off brand accessory the pricing should have been a little lower too.
@@randyrobineau2699 If I was gifted at painting I may attempted adjusting the color myself, but I'm afraid I'd just ruin it. No arguments about the price though. I'm sure that's one of the biggest reasons why people are going to pass on this set.
GI Joe's current mission? To capture a fully function Cobra Mech, reverse engineer it, and build one of their own. Even the allies had to admit that the Germans came up with great designs for their Jerry gas cans and the MG42.
I looked through gridironprops.com and didn’t see any color ways that matched the Python Patrol Flight Pod, but I figure if there is enough demand you’ll see a red and yellow variant of the upgrade kits soon enough.

What is your favorite release from them? Gridiron is pricey which is why it took me so long to bite, but the these leg upgrades have really turned me around. I already have upgrades mech upgrades 2 and 3 ordered and on the way. As a new consumer, my advice to other people on the fence is find something from them you think you'll truly enjoy and then go from there. Thanks for leaving you thoughts and for watching! @alanthecollector I get it the look of it. But for me, I think it just makes more sense to have mine flying because it makes them more mobile. I did see the other upgrades. But they didn't do anything for me. However, all the Vamp upgrades are amazing. Great content. Keep the videos coming, man!

I've been trying to know what those u-shaped bars that are seen in many mecha designs, often on limbs, shoulders, and sometimes on torsos.
Your guess is as good as mine. My best guess is that it would be used particularly for hoisting or towing with a chain or a cable.
