    Lyrics:
Sometimes life, it feels too good
Like if woodsmen find some extra woods
And when my heart can't swell any more
Then I see your body at my door
    _Rúsínan í pylsuendanum_
When you walk into a room
You make me put down my cake
It quakes my heart baby, boom
My teeth and earrings go shake
You bring so much laughter, and it brightens up my day
Every sneeze goes faster, all the spiders run away
You make my best week better and my wet things wetter
    So not you forget-a
You're a brain who found knowledge
Like a bear who got his porridge
I'm a bun, and you're the raisin at the end of my sausage
Like a witch in a cookie cottage
    You're Dmitri Shostakovich
I'm a bun, and you're the raisin at the end of my sausage
You're the raisin at the end of my sausage (sausage sausage)
    And I'm a bun
Who knew a sheep could grow an extra jumper?
    Make me dance b-bumper
    In the midnight sun
So fill my feet with flowers
    You are meine lucky bow
    Like a hard spring shower
Make my hair want to grow, grow, grow, grow, grow
    You make the piglets sing
    And the shepherd bell ring
    So I... ding ding
You're a brain who found knowledge
Like a bear who got his porridge
I'm a bun, and you're the raisin at the end of my sausage
Like a gherkin in my cold fridge
    You are Slobodan Milošević
I'm a bun, and you're the raisin at the end of my sausage (sausage sausage)
    (_Rúsínan í pylsuendanum_)
    I'm a bun, I'm a bun, I'm a Bunton
Before you came along, there was a grape at the top of my burger
At the top of my burger was a grape (yes, no, please?)
    Burger: no, thank you
    Then 'step' went your shoes
    And my Iceland on news
And the news it was time for me to put down my cake
You're a brain who found knowledge
Like a bear who got his porridge
I'm a bun, and you're the raisin at the end of my sausage
You're a plant on my window ledge
    Like a young Patricia Routledge
I'm a bun, and you're the raisin at the end of my sausage (sausage sausage)
    (_Rúsínan í pylsuendanum_)
    (sausage sausage)
You're the raisin at the end of my sausage

With respect to Mel Giedroyc - this should have won. Being a public vote, her much higher profile (lots of TV) would have contributed bigtime. So well done, Mel - and well done all - but this should have won. Fabulous stunt-rhyming going on here. F&J never disappoint.

Like Fever Ray & Björk meet...Aqua, with the odd giveaway Brit culture references: shouldn’t work, but this somehow does tickle the “raisin at the end of my sausage”! 🤣👍

I'd love for these to represent us at real Eurovision with a self-deprecating song poking fun at the UK's lack of success after 1998 - it would do badly but at least provide the rest of Europe with a laugh...

Can someone please tell me how did this come about to begin with? I mean, why is a couple of english people doing a song on the behalf of Iceland (of all places) and not their own country?

    • @patrickh3385
      @patrickh3385 4 года назад +5

This was a charity Eurovision parody which features (mostly) British comedians performing songs for other countries. The UK entry was performed by a Swedish musician.

Hey, I'm from Germany, so I probably don't get most of the references or ... the whole sense of what they are singing about, to be honest. Sounds genius though, so I would really appreciate if someone could fill me in on the context?

This was a charity parody of Eurovision. Various (mainly British) comedians were given one week to write, perform and produce a song and video for a randomly selected country during lockdown.
