This is definitely one of the most beautiful (if not THE most beautiful) and touching pieces of music and performance I have ever seen or heard. What a genius and what an awesome performance of musicians and choir. This is truly mighty. How I wish I could have been there.
3:38 that guy at the first raw deserves a medal. He's way too much into it. 2:24 that guy deserves a huge medal !!! The power in his works is astonishing, yet the emotion it carries is marvelous.
I can’t thank you enough for posting this performance😭. I most definitely bawled my eyes out after hearing the beauty of such a huge and talented band, and choir. If I ever make it to heaven, I hope I get to hear this song, since it truly is heavenly. What a wonderful composer, thank you☺️.

@Ted breadth I wanted to watch the opening and closing ceremonies, but it was at my working time. Most of the olympic events were boring without audiences. And Hisaishi wasn't there😕
Still remember how someone posted part of this performance, the one with the choir on 9gag, with no context and I found that this concert existed just by looking for 'ghibli budokan ' Funny how recognizable that hall is to someone who's never eben been to Japan But lucky, I guess
