=D Did not expect so many people to be interested in this series it caught me off guard
So im stepping up production =D Each video will now be uploaded 2 days apart =D Thank you everyone
The pdf file, does that contain templates for the entire armor, or is it a separate pdf file for each part?
The pdf contains: Costume materials, tools/ supplies info - bonus tutorials - and yip full costume set of all the scaled templates =) Whole pdf is 69pages long providing 2 scaled size set of the templates (adult and child )
yaaasss!!!!
ive got a question with the helmet visor im having a bit of trouble is there any way for you to make an instructional video
I just found your channel. Just in time because I wanted to start making a Halo spartan cosplay. Sadly I'm looking for more of a Halo Reach armor look, but I'm still watching your videos. I've learned so much and will definitely be using eva foam for my build. I am tempted to pick up your pdf file to try this for a first attempt.
As always a well laid out and clearly explained tutorial, well done. When i can finally afford/get around to doing my own ODST costume these are the videos i will use. 10/10
Same here.

Hey I know it’s been 5 years but I’m curious if you did it because I plan on doing it
@@TheHaloMegaMan19 bruce it's been 5 years
you subtly remind me of chris pratt
Essentially; Cosplay Chris Pratt, if you will.
I see it
After 6 years of waiting Im finally working on this and got the chest done.Really enjoying it
Working on it for halloween, bit how did it go for yours
@@ThebigZ1353 its a interesting one, i reccommend 8mm thick foam, just a little easier to work with.
Also depending on how often u work with it, it takes some time :)
just woke up from making my helmet and was about to clear my work station then I saw this lol and thx andrew
Bought the pdf right when it came out, and have finished a trial version of the helmet that's made out of cardboard to make sure the sizes are good, and already another part :D Thanks Andy
Currently building my ODST cosplay...because of your awesome videos! Thanks!
Super cool mate!! I hope you enjoy the making of it and it turns out awesome!! =)
Props to you man. Your final product is top notch and it is evident in the video that you enjoy making these. Bought the templates and having tons of fun with it. Thanks!
I'm extremely anxious for the next video already. I attempted you're halo marine and was really happy with everything you did in via the pdf/tutorials. good work man!
Going to buy the guide today, and foam and a new table for my workshop tomorrow. God I've never been this excited over a cosplay.
Love the series, keep it up! =D
Loving the videos, Just started on the helmet from the last episode
dude im so glad u made these videos, im artistically challenged and tried making an armor set in 2014... and yeah it was a mess, gonna get your template and try again!
at the end of this series of the ODST armor you should build a silenced smg. to go with the armor
silenced pistol would be nice too
just finished building the Helmet today!!!
Got something new tomorrow
did you do your visor man!?
Lancer Captain Spadez Building the Visor as we speak lol
cool cool is the tutorial on it in this video, I haven't seen it yet connection probs
Lancer Captain Spadez no there isn't it's pretty easy. I talked to Andrew and he said to use Acrylic Folio
Hi Andrew! I watched a lot of your videos a few years ago but I never did anything about it. You showed up in my recommended again because of Halo Infinite and I found this. I have a question for you. Have you ever, and would you recommend applying fiberglass over this suit to make it more durable and shaped? I think that would give it a really cool effect but I've never done anything like this and I'd like to get an expert opinion.
yo dude this is a dope diy. Im just now picking up cosplay so this is very helpful as I am a major halo fan. I cant wait to try this out. thanks and keep up the good work bruv!
This is amazing! Definitely happy I stumbled upon the tutorials
+Andrew DFT Where can we find the EVA foam boards/plates/tiles? I especially like the one you used for this video with a textured (is it called knurled?) diamond surface.
Mapo Dato KJ you can find it at Walmart a and lowes and Home Depot's it's called interlocking foam floor tiles
search in Google and phomi Eva and after there you go to images you look for some black mats from Amazon basics they are the same as those in the video@Mapo Dato KJ
Will you be going over how to paint it?
Just watch stuff on painting in general, hes showing us how to use the templates he made and nothing else.
almost expected this to be a model so happy it's not :D thank you so much :D
This is awsome! I used the base shape for the spartan chestplate I use in my videos! And im making a second one with my brother!
hey can you use a hairdryer instead a heat gun
No xD
You sir, are amazing, the templates must have been difficult to make
you are amazing!!!! Thank you so much for this series! It's sooo helpful!!!
Your work is awesome, very inspirational.
Love your videos. So clear; and easy to follow. Keep up the great work! PS. Are you from Australia or NZ? I'm a kiwi.
This hallowween will probably be fun if the person that is doing has all ingredients
damn it my foam pieces are not as big now i need to look around and hope i find bigger ones
This is amazing and I want to make this...but one question...how do I make a chest peice for a girl? XD
TheGoldCat123 Well, you would just make room for it, make it curve a bit to get around the problem of the breasts, depending how big they are.
Did you actually make it? How expensive and hard was it?
No need to do any alterations, unless you have a very large breast size it will just cover them fine, chest armor is usually unisex.
If you're actually trying to get that boob armor effect rather than being worried about a good fit then you should modify the chestplate instead, just bend it over your knee to give it a rounder shape and maybe add some foam spacers on the underside so that it won't sit as flush with the base chest armor.
Would love for you to do a Spartan cosplay tutorial
Awesome vids and I love halo, keep up the good work
Now, this is probably going to sound like an odd question, but how would you recommend making adjustments to provide more chest space? I want to use this template for my own Mandalorian but I do feel like it would be rather snug around the chest
of course we are im just downloading it from etsy right now it is so cool great desighn
I’m very upset 😭 I should have realized your templates aren’t made for 6’3” guys so now I have armor I made and doesn’t fit
Nice, sharp blade
I love your videos! Great work! Keep going!! :p
I like odst helmets.
haven't been this early since the dawn of time.
xD
Who else is looking at the foam and is thinking "His is much thinner than my foam"
What is the best thickness of EVA foam to use for armor like this?
John Odland 1.1-1.3 mm for the base/ larger pieces than where will be pieces you will half and if you want you can get sheets of 2 mm for extra details
Will you be showing us how to paint it?
i cut the bottom shoulders of and added felcrow to it so it straps on
So I'm planning on doing this for Haloween. I'm a small person(around 5 foot only weighing about 100 lbs) and I was wondering if these templates would work for me. And If they won't, what could I do make them Fit.
I wish I could just order this from you preferably like the colors Rookie had in halo odst
you got to choose rookies colors
Sick!
The surface of my EVA foam mats are too small for the larger pieces. Would it be acceptable divide the chestplate into seperate pieces and then glue them on? Or should I just buy larger foam? Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I ended up doing the former and so far so good.
Hi Andrew i buy the book and i want to know how many sheets of foam you use for the suit, i live out USA and also know the size of a sngle sheet. Thankyou
Andrew man is having trouble fitting the chest templates on to one bit of foam when I flip it it overhangs on the other side i posted a pic on you'r FB so you can see
How do you take it off tho
Screw it im doing Velcro
Reminds me of a Roman Hamata, a Lorica Segmentata of some sorts.........
how much foam do you need?
Did you ever find out?
i bought this templae and printed it out to the specs of 1.8 and the chest doesnt fit me what do i do????????
the templates are the maximum size on A4 paper DX DX somebody please help
I know he probably doesn't read these, but does he have a shop to buy all the pieces?
Hi friend, how are you doing?
It would be great to see how you would do the Halo 4 suit
I would like to see how you would do it, it would be great.
Is it hard to fit it over your arms since you glued the side seams together instead of using elastic or velcro?
There really isn’t enough explanation for the bottom side pieces, as far as placement. You just kind of glue it and stick it on, then you’re finished
where did you get the foam
Legit any hardware store
Any suggestions on scaling up the armor? I fit the height of the base templates but I am a bulkier person, so I need a larger chest size and possibly larger ab plates.
How thick were the foam pads that you used? I bought some that looks like it’s about 1.5 cm and I’m wondering if that will be too thin-thick.
U are great
Would I be able to use this for airsoft (if I can would I feel the pellets) or is this just for photos
the foam will dent up and catch a few pellets but the energy of the hit will not go through.
well you could customize your armor and make it more stable, then you should be fine
i found some steel plates that would do the trick but it is heavy and impractical, tanky kind of look i must say
Yes but I would make sure the bbs don't go through
Drunk Leopard Just buy a nerf gun and then you'll have much less pain if any when being shot
thank u
how big is that foam? mine is too small
I'm a begginer and this is my first half build, can someone help with my visor, I'm messing up on the helmet and thinking of buying one, any ideas?
Do you have to use size a4 paper? I only have my letter size card stock paper
Hello Andrew...Is this chest armor a good fitting for someone 5'8" in height please? Thank you in advance.
I will make 12 different colors of this and a few guns
can you make a tutorial on how to make a halo spartan chest
NICE!
Hi how do you get the templets for this doesn't show up on ur link for me
How many pieces of foam do you need for the entire thing
Hey Andrew I need some help. When I am hot gluing the pieces together they are not staying together. Would the problem be the foam or the glue or the hot glue gun
Try using a stronger glue
Will it fit a 169cm tall person
What thickness of foam is needed? 3/8inch or 1/2inch or does it not matter?
I have 4 months and 20 days to make this....... Will update once it's finished 🤣
Nice
I think my eva floor mats are too small... lol wtf. I can only fit one side of the template onto it and if I flip it.. it doesn't fit.. umm wtf do I do?
GET MORE FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
i have the same problem the other half when flipd hangs over the egde of the foam??
If it has puzzle pieces on it put them together to make a bigger piece. U can seal the foam later
do you think the suit could work for a titanfall costume?
this is so helpful!!!!!!!!!!!
You doing Spartan next
Oké thanks
make the ODST backpack
Would a hair dryer be sufficient to heat the foam? Heat guns aren't all that expensive but I'd rather not spend the money if I don't have to
Nathan Stevenson indeed. I actually used a hair dryer rather than a heat gun to give my radio bezel in my truck a nice camo finish with cast vinyl. it worked great
It will not. the hair dryer would more destroy it then heat it up.plus it wont get hot enough
U think u could do halo 4 master chief? If not it's cool:3
messed up so hard but still managed to salvage the wrekage (didnt make two sides different used same template for both sides) #FAILHARD
Fuck you xD
yay!!!
does this tutorial fit a twelve year old without modifications?
How much money is this hole costume to build?
How many slates of foam did you use ?
Is there a reason why everyone uses EVA foam?
Im a lifeguard at a YMCA and they have half an inch and inch width exersize matts, would that work?
Jordan Ledford eva foam is just easy to come by and easy to work with, but it should work with anything, really
What thickness foam did you use? You
For all the materials needed, what’s the average cost for all of them?
@Mace-Inator $10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
what's the thickness of the materials ?
do you print it actual size or fit to paper
can you do john 117 armor
Don't think he could really do that in a tutorial. The amount of armor material and detail in that would make it a HUGE project.
Anyone know how tall he is so I could use for reference
how many pieces of foam do i need?
where do you get all your foam?
Is there a kid template you offer?
How much of each item will we need?
