  • The Malbork Castle UNESCO World Heritage site is absolutely incredible. The castle was founded in the 13th century as Marienburg by German knights of the Teutonic Order, but ownership eventually passed to Poland as the Teutonic Order left the area. It's one of the largest castles in the world by land area, and one of the world's largest brick structures as well. It's an incredible place to come and explore!

Thank you for sharing. Just saw the castle from the train’s window from Warszawa to Gdansk (Danzig) to depart to Copenhagen. Need to return with my young teenagers to see this impressive castle and the interesting history of the region.

The largest brick building in the world? It's hard to get an idea of the scale of it, but well covered. The model at the beginning helped as well.

Apparently so! It covers quite a large land area, though we didn't venture much into the outermost area (you can see it in a few shots at the start and the end). Remember as well that more modern buildings only have brick exteriors - this is almost entirely bricks!
