  • Malbork castle (Poland), the Castle of the Teutonic Order, is the largest castle in the world by surface area. The castle is a classic example of a medieval fortress and, on its completion in 1406, was the world's largest brick castle. UNESCO designated the "Castle of the Teutonic Order in Malbork" and the Malbork Castle Museum a World Heritage Site in December 1997.
It is only half an hour drive from Elblag, my hometown, so it was an obvious choice to visit it! It is a beautiful place and a very interesting site full of history. Join us!

MARIENBURG castle was built by the (German) TEUTONIC KNIGHTS from 1274 onwards. Marienburg is in Eastern Germany which was collectively known as Prussia until it's 14 million German-Prussian inhabitants were ethnically cleansed and replaced by Polish who had previously never even set foot in Eastern Germany. Marienburg is not only the largest castle in the world it was also affected by the largest incident of ethnic cleansing in history some 14 million German-Prussians were ethnically cleansed and had their homes, farmes and ancient homeland taken from them.

My Odyssey, Thank you for this video, The music is very fitting and so is your video. Nice to see so much of the interior of this Teutonic castle. I will have to visit West Prussia some day to see Marienburg and maybe the Amber city Danzig. My family originates from Prussia. Have a nice evening.

It was a planned evacuation first, later it turned into a massive escape of people fearing Soviets who were taking revenge on average Germans.
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evacuation_of_East_Prussia
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flight_and_expulsion_of_Germans_%281944%E2%80%9350%29
"The German Empire introduced the idea of ethnicity-based settlement
in an attempt to ensure its territorial integrity. It was also the
first modern European state to propose population transfers as a means
of solving "nationality conflicts", intending the removal of Poles and Jews from the projected post-World War I "Polish Border Strip" and its resettlement with Christian ethnic Germans."
Any attempt to gain this territory would end rather badly for Germany ...
After 3rd world war there will be so few remaining Germans (that`s a pity !), their land will be divided between France and Poland (Elbe river as a border).
