Canned food lasts many years past the best-by-date. If you bought food years ago the prices were cheaper and to replace those cans now it's cost you a lot more. Stock seeds and potting soil to plant food.
I'm doing the same thing, going thru my pantryand getting the older stuff used up. And yes we need to prep our souls. Our tent revival at church is going on now.
