      Most say, “it’s the system and there is nothing I can do to fix it for you.”
      Many, though they won’t admit it, have a negative attitude toward veterans. It’s because they see veterans as problems, not customers.

    • @s.n.e.8941
      @s.n.e.8941 17 дней назад +2

      If your PCP patients need to be seen for care, they can be seen for care while she is out on medical leave. If anyone hasn't been transparent with you about staffing, please know that staff vacancies is a problem. Vacancies impacts wait time and coverage. Many may not know, that for months now, there have been restrictions on hiring to fill VA vacancies. These restrictions are due to budget issues in response to heightened costs of increased Community Care referrals. The government did not allocate money to VA to cover the cost of increased Community Care referrals. Hence, VA medical centers did not have access to funds for filling medical provider vacancies. Hiring restrictions negatively impacts Veterans access to their health providers. But, yes, if you need to see a PCP while she is out on medical leave, yes, you can be seen by someone. If you are not sure how to make that happen, a patient advocate can assist you.

    • @danikai7183

      @@s.n.e.8941absolutely! And these community care providers after charge double to triple the hours that it would take a VA provider to provide the same, and often more well-informed, care. This results in a massive deficit that then results in more hiring freezes/limitations on the VA. All we want to do is serve our veterans well, with integrity and honor and without bias…separate from any political games or power plays.

  • @stephenfaulkner1448

    DOGE isn’t looking to cut Funds from Veterans Care. It is looking to CUT the waste not going towards Veterans care so the money IS spent on Veterans care. For example. The Mountain Home VAMC remodel a rotunda in 2008 and they just remodeled it again last year.

    The Global War on Terror, GWOT, proved that we are more than willing to send our youngest most loyal and dedicated Americans off to war but it’s not a priority to care for their healthcare needs when they leave the military.
    I and a fellow Veteran tried to assist our 99 year old D-Day wounded and Battle of the Bulge Purple Heart Veteran get care at the VA. He was treated poorly and not well cared for. After two full days he was exhausted and disgusted and so were we. As an Army Veteran and son of a D-Day + 3 Army Vet I admit that the way the VA treated our 99 year old Army Vet buddy just broke my heart.

    It looks good on paper; bonuses get allocated, staff programs continue to get perks even as veterans get another dead end number to call; medical appointments backlogged for months and a medical team that violates trust of the veteran by withholding key diagnostics that could potentially support a claim. Veterans deserve a level of support comparable to the sacrifice that is expected of them.

I even file a case with the Inspector General of the VA. I couldn't get no result even that high in the Gov. Finely I pull most of my veteran's care out of the VA. Things need to start from the top down. I was a Marine Corp Vet. Not one word was said to me about, or any vets at the time about having any benefits with the VA. If I wrote all the problems with the VA. I would be writing a book. Every time I had to go to the VA ER for messing up my prescription because the couldn't even count to 30, that 30 days would add up to 36 days before receiving my prescription. When when I went to the ER. It was never their fault always, my fault. Prescription wrote by my PCP would just disappeared from the systems, or go from 39 days to plus more than 36 days or more. Vietnam vets. was screw over from day one from the the day, that they was discharge from active duty and still things are needs to be improve. A lot of Vietnam VETS are still living on the street, or ended up dying there. Most who are still alive today. They are still suffering from Agent Oranges and its effect. All coverup for years.

      Voicemail is not recommended for communication with health care providers. In the private sector, I never leave voicemail messages for a provider. Providers should be seeing patients, not taking time to check voicemail. Providers work on teams and have nurses that assist them with patients inquiries. Secure Messaging is much more effective than voicemail. Plus, it's a better form of documentation for tracking purposes. In 2025, voicemail for doctors is way behind the times.

    You know what would be cool for people to go out and have a non-profit organization to go seek people that it might be homeless that are veterans but they might have mental illness due to the fact that the trauma caused by the war and they might need help and they might be even eligible for benefits that they was unaware of I mean it's possible there's a lot of them like that out there but that would be cool

    Him flashing his dog tags is an extremely worrying sign to me.
    An air force reservist acting like flashing his dog tags signifies anything is an absolute joke.

    Anyone else find it extremely bizarre that Hirono always leads in with those same two opening questions for each of the nominees regarding sexual misconduct... Seems like a passive aggressive way of throwing out into the ether that all of Trump's picks for his cabinet are somehow aligned with that type of behavior when there is no factual bases to assert it and to casually throw it out there when millions viewed this hearing live and after-the-fact via social media. Very rude, condescending, disrespectful, miserable person.

    Abortion is not healthcare, Senator Patty Murray. Abortion ends a human life. That is not healthcare.

      Abortion is only available as an option if certain criteria is met, such as threat of death to the Veteran. She explained the criteria when she asked her question. Thanks
