Just received my Woburn 3 today. Game changer! This speaker turned my medium sized office into a concert hall. Highly recommended!
¿A concert hall? I don't know what to make with your hyperbolic comment. If taking it at face value or to doubt gravely about your hearing capacity.
Which is it my dude?
Just ordered Woburn 3, will arrive soon excited!!!! Thanks for the clarity on choice of the model
I FINALLY got the Woburn 3!! Marshall has been sold out for months. They had them back last week and sold out again in like 24 hours but I got mine! It’s freakin awesome. I can’t recommend it enough. It gives me that extra LOUD that the stanmores couldn’t quite deliver. I love that it feels like it follows you around the room so there isn’t one sweet spot that you have to stand for that perfect sound. I’m in love.
Is it a noticeable upgrade from Stanmore to Woburn in terms of loudness and sound clarity? I own stanmore 1 and look forward to upgrade it. Currently thinking of Woburn 3, Sonos Fives, and Kef lsx wireless 2. Woburn couldn’t possibly compete with a hifi stereo set up but man, I just love its classic design.
I just got it and oh boy it is worth it! When I heard it in the store and the bass started rumbling I was sold!!! Not so forward mids and highs but clear enough and for bass lovers a dream :D. I couldn't believe I hear subbase from this little box... Thanks for the review!
Excellent review. Purchased. Best choice among small speakers. Unbelievable sound!
After your review. Have Ordered and just got the Woburn 3.. i really like the sound.. thank you
As a Danish viewer, a great music choice🇩🇰 and great review!
What is this song? Loved it! Please reply
Thanks for the great review Danny. I have a LG OLED and i was planning to keep this besides the sofa. But now worried about the delay you mentioned since i want to keep TV speakers on as well and experience some surround.
GREAT REVIEW
The Woburn II turning off and having to always press the power button to turn it back on was such an annoying deal breaker, so glad it's fixed, I can finally use a Woburn again!
This review is really good! I been keeping my eyes on one of these and this video is so informative! Thank you so much! ☺️😀😃
Have you purchased one in the end? If so, can you let us know your thoughts? Many thanks!😊😊
Thank You danny for taking my question from the previous video.
Please confirm once again, whether will it goes to standby mode on HDMI and on bluetooth, where we have to wake up the speaker every time, by touching any physical button after being left idle for more than 10 minutes.
You can refer the manual page as, Woburn 3 network standby mode.
Keep caring about sound quality .. You're the best man in all what you're doing 👍
thanks, I was waiting for this! BTW, do you know the woburn 2 button has double/triple click function for skipping forward and back? so they just made it better in woburn 3. But the sound improvement completely got me!
Nice review. I'm so bummed that my Woburn 3 didn't start up. I had to send it back but the new one should be coming in next week. Glad I went with that over the 2.
So my replacement just arrived and it is just as amazing as you describe in your video. Totally worth the hassle. I'm hearing things in my favorite songs that I only hear with my Bose noise cancelling headphones. Plus its SO LOUD and crisp!

Hi I'm not sure but you might find this interesting. I've several products from the Marshall BT speaker lineup, and my Woburn II is what I have used most at this point. I did have lots of issues with connectivity and did/do experience lag in some formats. However, watching stuff such as this video -- I have absolutely no lag with the audio coming from my TV, which is connected via bluetooth to my Woburn II.
very good advice. I wait untill comes up in Amazon and I will buy it.
It's up on amazon! amzn.to/3MNp3Vw if you do use this specific link it helps me out. Thanks for the comment!
Hihi, thank you for the video) Could you compare action 3 and stanmore 3 with previous generations and give small review about all series 3 devises?
Hey Danny! Can you help me , which eq settings do you prefer or which is the best balanced rich sound settings? (bass, treble eq) for Woburn III
Thank you
Ever compare the Woburn to the Sonos Era 300 or Five?
Looking for a music/podcast speaker(s).
PS. Thanks for your videos. Love your content.
Could you review the Acton 3..I just ordered one from Marshall and there aren't any good review videos thus far..im hoping the sound surprises me I a good way. im hoping its an improvement from the acton 2. I planning on using mine primarily with aux cord so if you could do a comparison in sound between that and bluetooth would be great.
Can’t wait for this to launch in India. What is your long term review for Woburn 3 ?
I know traditionally a PA system would be advised in my situation, but I don't want anything that bulky to travel around. Would I be able to use a microphone via Bluetooth and play music simultaneously? If so, can I also use an external mixer by chance?
Regarding the HDMI issue, I had the same thing on my side with my LG TV for my Woburn 3.
The reason is related to HDMI CEC implementation by LG with other devices connected to the TV.
I had my PC connected to another HDMI port on the TV, which seems to conflict with the Woburn.
As soon as I unplugged the PC, everything went fine with the speaker and was automatically detected for HDMI ARC.
I bought an HDMI adapter to disable the CEC on my PC cable, you can find it easily on the web.
I have lg oled .. and confused if i should buy this.. one of the major reasons i wanted this was coz of the hdmi port that i wanted to connect to my lg…

I have a 1st generation Marshall Woburn. I'm happy with it, although it seems to me that it would be worth having two of the same, connected in stereo :D
Between woburn 1 and woburn 3, which one sounds better? I have the feeling that woburn 3 sounds like you put it in a glass, compared to woburn 1
Please review the Acton 3 & Stanmore 3 as well 🙏🙏
I have a stanmore 1 I believe and I love it.. my neighbors, not so much.
Thinking about getting something bigger for my house and leave the Stanmore in my garage
Are they even going to bring the multistream or broadcast feature to the speaker as they advertise in the ad?
Its been over a year now.
Thanks for this great review! Couple of months ago I compared woburn 1 and 2, but I kept the 1 because it sounded better to my ears and it was way louder. It was also built more solid, the knobs were tight and smooth, whereas the knobs of the woburn 2 did not have that tight fit but still were smooth. What’s your experience with the woburn 3 regarding the ability of playing loud compared to the 1? Thanks for reading!
I think the Woburn III can get pretty loud... at 60% volume it was louder than the Woburn 2 easily. I think its about on par with the woburn 1 volume... but also keep in mind distortion is going to kill it at super loud volumes.
@@DannyPops que querés decir???
Does Woburn3 sound way better than Woburn2?
I really wanna go with 3 one but there is no chance to get it. So I think I gotta choose between Woburn 1 and 2.
Should I go with 1?
Thx!
I bought this speaker based on several positive reviews, including yours. great quality. great volume. great separation. but that bass. rumbles at me. and I know that I can move away from the wall. I know there are settings in the app. after applying it did not help. still in my opinion speaker 1 - is tiring. after the speaker is turned off. feels relieved. which is not a good recommendation. 2 - the bass is pounding. I can't name it better but it just hums in the background.
I'm seriously wondering if it wasn't a problem with my model. because I can't believe you don't hear it !
Anyway, I wanted to thank you for your reviews and speaker comparisons :)
great review
It is so funny. I really think listen to speakers on YT without studio monitoring makes it impossible to really compare. On my HiFi and my speakers Woburn 2 blow Woburn 1 and 3 away. Much more clarity in the full range. What I really like is that marshalls were powered with rock music and no electro stuff. Thanks for that!
Lol yeah it's hard to tell. I think in some ways it really distorts the experience. Haha thanks I had to pay for that music on this video!
for me the Woburn 2 also got the best sound 😅
Would you recommend one of these products for an amp modeler/effects pedal such as the Kemper or Quad Cortex ??? What would you recommend ???
Firstly LG has awful connectivity problems and if you are looking to connect external devices or more than one then avoid an LG TV at all costs they will screw up you setup and ruin the software use in the TV itself. It is how they cheaply integrate their software chipsets. As for the sounds, there is nothing wrong with the W2 speaker. All of them are great but it actually comes down to the individual speaker setup and how it acoustically works in your room. That is why it could sound muddy as you put it. Thanks for video 👍
Will it ever be back in stock? It’s been like 5 months since it went out of stock on amazon and best buy and such. 😢
snag the 3.. wait for better deals or hold off untill the next gen? Little hesitant due to the lack of pairing with a second speaker and uncertainty of le bluetooth
could you review the LG xboom 360 ? Just got it and impressed for $200 would like too see your thoughts on it.
Hello Danny. I can't buy Wonburn 3 . So is Stanmore a good option to buy? Plz reply. Thanks
To my ears, the Woburn 2 sounds better on this recording but trust me, in person it sounds muddy compared to the 1 & 3.
In your test i would say that the woburn 2 has a better sound in comparasion 1 or 3 but i had the first gen and I am still regret ting that I sold it for buying the second gen because the first one sounds louder than 2 but in the other hand the second gen has a cleaner sound and less distortion. Are you agree with me Danny?

@Danny Pops which is the best bluetooth speaker in the range of Woburn?
Продукция Marshall прекрасна❤️❤️❤️
Dear Marshall speaker users,
I recently switched from the Stanmore 1 speaker to the Woburn 3, connecting it to my Audio Technica LP60 with a built-in preamp. I've noticed an issue while playing vinyl on this setup: the maximum volume with the Woburn 3 via RCA seems to be about 50% of what I got with the Stanmore 1. Any insights on why this might be happening?
No issues with playing digital music via Bluetooth
What is your favorite speaker in your collection?
Today I just got a chance to listen to this wonderful thing at my IT store close to where I live.
I started light with trying out the:
(1) Fender Monterey Tweed Yellow (Low+++ to Midrange+) IMO
The overall sound was really good and by being able to adjust the treble and bass it's just a great feeling for your ears when pumping through the records.
I'd say my honest feedback about this speaker is that the bass is strong for a relative medium speaker size, the treble adjustment is enough with a quite clear sound when adjusting it to your own taste. Volume had to crank it up to MAX or 1 notch from MAX to please my ears.
I did all these test with the staff's Iphone Bluetooth connection.
Next coming up is:
(3) Marshall Stanmore III ( Mid range+++ to High range-) IMO
To be completely honest I did NOT find it to be a significant difference in the sound quality over the Fender Monterey.
Perhaps a slightly more clear sound with just a bit of tiny more BASS and maybe if you are picky even a notch more clear sound as well.
It's quite a tough comparison IMO over the sound quality, but if I had to pick the best one, It would indeed be the marshall one.
Now finally!
Marshall Woburn III ( High range+++) IMO
This thing had much more power with the volume and putting the volume button at level 7 of 10 was plenty of enough for me to call it loud and pleasing.
The BASS is obviously stronger then the smaller version and I was enjoying it the best when cranking the BASS to MAX.
Plenty of fun playing with the treble button, and I can tell it sounds way more adjustable than the smaller version of Stanmore III.
I'd say it's quite a huge difference in sound quality comparing it to the smaller Stanmore III. Louder, Clearer, and THICKER BASS!!
If you would call a party at home, this thing would probably be strong enough to use both indoors and outdoors. However the smaller marshall Stanmore III will not be strong enough for hosting a party IMO.
Conclusions!
If I wanted a small speaker but still beefy and better than the JBL FLIP series, the Fender Monterey, and the Marshall Stanmore III is just about strong enough with great sound quality.
If I want to enjoy music to its fully, then the Marshall Woburn III will put a fat smile on your face! It sounds like rock concert quality almost =).
For TV, try to change sound format on tv to PCM instead for Dolby. I tried it on my Samsung tv and changing to PCM made it work.
This
What's the latency like wen you combine it with tribit stormbox blast via aux is it noticable ?
Will the woburn 3 be used to couple with acton 2
How is the audio latency when pairing with a computer or TV? I have an echo studio, and looking to exchange for a marshall because the latency is ridiculous. Any show i watch is like watching a dubbed movie.
are you still facing the same problem?
I have lg oled .. and confused if i should buy this.. one of the major reasons i wanted this was coz of the hdmi port that i wanted to connect to my lg…
Can you hook a turntable thru the arc connections while playing a record?
Gen 2 is the best sounding of this bunch. High quality sound. The Gen 3 sound went backwards. Then the Gen 1.
The gen 2 has the best build quality by a mile. The sound separation is much better too.. at least better than the gen 1. I saw a takedown vid of a gen 3 and they use recycled cardboard and other cheap material. Such a disappointment. I’m sticking with my gen 1 and 2 for now.
Nice Bell & Ross watch :D
Between this and jbl authentics 300 which is a better choice? Thanks a lot
Can this be used as a makeshit PA to conpete with Bose S1 pro and also connect say a guitar processor or vocal ?
i really want one but i live in a condo. would i be able to listen to music at 60 percent without disturbing them? its concrete walls.
When you plugged it into your LG TV (via a labeled ARC port?), did you disable Dolby Atmos in settings? It's on by default and most devices can't handle the signal (except soundbars and receivers). Also quite obvious but you have to choose HDMI ARC as your sound source.
I'll double check dolby atmos, but it was definitely in the arc. I was able to plug in my soundbar and it immediately worked, then back to the woburn and dead. Also it requires the PCM setting, but it worked without that engaged so....
@@DannyPops Definitely worth exploring! Don't give up, I'm sure it'll work somehow.
@@rsolsjo if anything it shows that smart TVs like the LG aren't so smart.
@@DannyPops Yeah I think they should at least implement some sort of firmware update that auto-detects Atmos devices or not. You get a little pop-up like "this device does not support Dolby Atmos, it has been disabled" or something. I have an LG CX and it's a fantastic TV but there are some nitpicks when it comes to the actual interface.
Jbl 310 vs Marshall woburn 3?
I highly consider between this two.
Man I've been trying to get the Woburn 3 for months now but they're never in stock
Hey danny! Would you prefer two paired stanmores or only one woburn? Which one has better bass?
One Woburn.
My biggest complaint of the Woburn 2 is the low power standby mode. It simply does not "wake up" when receiving input from a 3.5mm jack [such as from a PC]. You have to manually wake it up every time. This gets very annoying when I have to take a long phone call (>10 minutes) or mute sound for a bit. How does the Woburn 3 treat LPS mode? Did it go back to its WOBURN 1 roots and make it something that can be disabled...or did they do the same EU compliant nonsense that the WOBURN 2 did?
Would you recommend WIII to use with TV as a soundbar or it's a bad idea? Is it enough power for watching cinematic movies, actions ...etc.
Its prob plenty loud, but it doesn't seem to be an optimized choice unless you could link two of them down the road with LE bluetooth
Would I be able to pair Stanmore III with Woburn III ?
Its a beast ......
11:00, can the ota update get the rock n roll sound back to the 3???
Have you tried any of them with a turntable playing a record. Using the RCA inputs. How would it sound?
This is how I use my Woburn ii. To my untrained ears, it sounds great. It does have to be up fairly high to get a good volume, I am usually at around 5 or 6 for normal listening, but much over 7 or 8 and it quickly gets unbearably loud, so the volume is a bit wonkey. I would expect normal listening to be around a 3. However, once you get over the number on the dial, it sounds really good. I am running a pro-ject preamp as well, rather then the preamp on my turntable. However, of course, sound quality is subjective so, YMMV
I'm looking for the same answer
I felt like the 2 sounded the best IMO
yeah me too.. when hearing the song played together my the three speaker..actually 2 sounded more richer and with punchy bass and its was fun to listen... Woburn III didn't sound that much good and Woburn 1 was a bit bright i guess... and Woburn 2 only handled it with perfect balance in frequency...
I'm really curious
Because i tried to connect it to my ipad and it just wouldn't find the bluetooth 🙃
Hopefully this works on my Sharp TV
Is it possible to stereo pair two of these in the app?
Liked the Woburn 2 - it sounds closer to the source. The three sounds boxier and congested in comparison. One was the best, most balanced of the three.
i think the reason why u cant have sound in LG TV is becuase you outputed with dolby formate. if you set back in PCM it should work totally fine. its really stupid that a speaker with HDMI port dont support dolby in 2022....
Thank you for the review. I am thinking about purchasing Acton. Its' size just fits better in my case. Are you going to review Acton 3 and compare it with previous versions?
Eventually I will but I'm out of money haha.
Surprisingly I have the same conclusion too. Woburn 1 is still a very good option. Woburn 2 sounds bad. Woburn 3 is back in the game again.
I have the Woburn 1 still working great in one of my room.
New bluetooth
i own ii and iii and ii is better.
@@beavis1474what makes you say 2 is better than 3? I have a 2 right now and am considering upgrading.
@@globalminded2 sounds vintage and has a better soundstage.. the build quality is better too since they used metal. A Woburn 3 is made from recycled cardboard. Just not built to last.
Have you noticed listening Woburn 1 subtle effects kind of muffled ? I have tried wireless on wired but either way gave the same result. I feel marshal does process sound like that and nothing I can do.
Is it true the speaker doesnt support FLAC music on Bluetooth?
Hi, thanks for the review, how do I know if my Woburn 3 is genuine if the serial numbers on the box and the app don't match?
Contact marshall support probably
I got the Woburn 3, but the delivery company dropped it off with a large gash in the box that actually gashed the Marshall box inside. It happened to be on the same side as the front of the speaker. Does anyone else notice that the front of the speaker has multiple indentations? They seem to be where each speaker is located, but it’s very noticeable. I notified Marshall, and they’ve been great. They offered to either replace it or give me a discount to keep it. The sound seems fine, but if you’re reading this, you probably understand where I’m coming from. There’s also a visible seam in the leather on the bottom right. Again, probably normal. I’m leaving towards returning and hopefully getting one with the box intact.
Just return that thing. It's probably ok but you want yoir investment to last and getting banged around doesn't help.
@@DannyPops will do. And thanks for a great review.

Marshall Woburn 3!!!
I have the Woburn 1 and 2. The 2 absolutely blows it away. I am judging it after being fully broken in, not out of the box. The 2 just has that Marshall vintage sound with a deeper base compared to the 1. It sounds like a vintage Marshall tube amplifier that you need to drive the volume a bit. The frequency response of the 3 is 35Hz - 20 kHz which is a tad behind the Woburn 2.
Why can't I find woburn 3 in my phone's Bluetooth. Please help
Hello, which is the minimum volume to hear it around the room? I hear a "normal level sound" just from 6 above. From 1 to 5 is bearly hearable, Is it normal? Thanks
Thats pretty normal for Marshall's to be quieter on lower than "6". As long as you can get it to a volume thats suitable for your needs.
@@DannyPops but quiter much more than others speaker? Lower than 6 u can bearly hear it is really really low. I hear higher the sound of my smartphone rather than woburn 2 at 6 level.
If your concerned about it talk to marshall headphones
Woburn 1 and Woburn 3. 👌🏻 Woburn II sounded more like the Stanmore II, I have the Stanmore II Voice and the Tufton, I like the sound of my Tufton more than Stanmore II. The Tufton has 2 full range driver compared to the Stanmore II which has the same speaker placement and set up like the Woburn II.
Que tal el tufton para camping, playa, etc se queda corto o anda bien ??
many say that tufton lacks of midrange. is it true?
Can I hook a mic with xlr output on the 3.5mm aux input in the speaker while it is connected to the TV via HDMI?
You probably could, but remember it has discreet sound settings. So when it's on HDMI, it's not listening for signals on any other.
What is that song? Luv it!!
Just to share I used the Woburn 3 with my LG C3 without issues guys.
Nice to read this, I got a LG C2, hope it works with it, I just order the speaker, fingers crossed.
Did you ever get the Woburn 3 working with your LG TV? I just purchased the Woburn 3 and have it connected to my LG via the hdmi/arc. I have it and my Vizio soundbar connected, soundbar is connected via the optical. They sound incredible together. My LG is an older one, a 2017 model. Had to go into the sound settings and change some settings but got it working.
Nice, no i never hooked it up. It's a bedroom TV now so I don't need the marshall sound for my night time viewing. What settings allowed you to hook it up successfully?
@@DannyPops Oh ok. On my tv when i press the menu button, a list on the right side of the tv pops up. At the bottom it says "advanced". I had to select that, then sound. Under the sound settings I selected "optical/hdmi arc out" and also selected "simplink". After i did that the woburn 3 started playing the sound. I discovered the soundbar would still work by accident. Didn't change anything else. Just left the soundbar plugged into the optical jack. But you have to leave both powered on. I turned the Woburn 3 off and the tv switched to tv speakers on its on. So i had to go back and select the optical/hdmi arc out setting again to get the soundbar and woburn 3 working again.
@@DannyPops I forgot to say but thanks so much for your videos and reviews. You're the one who sold me on the Woburn 3. Got me liking Volbeat also. Sadly i had never heard of them before. And I agree with you the Woburn 2 sounds the worst of the three Woburns. Thanks again!👍👍
At time 6:34 I slowed down the video and it’s clear to see and hear that your sync is about 1/10 of a second too slow. In other words the sound is 1/10 slower than the image.
Probably has something to do with the mic set ups but the WBIII sounded really bad on this video. The II was the best by far. The I was good too.
Please make vedio in stero pairing onces its support for home theater experience
Does anyone know what the RMS output Is for this speaker?
But add Wi-Fi already. It’s 2022 and Wi-Fi should be a nobrainer. AirPlay2 for example, is a must.
