6:00 Forest is really impressive. He immediately recognized that he lost the advantage, and the tactic that won him the knight earlier in the game, he called that too. He took the time to calculate and Jim didn't.
It never ceases to amaze me how well the really good chess players know the game. Judge Jim and Forest are both so knowledgeable (and smart) that they can "feel" each move's impact on their overall position.
After that talk (which I like), he should have been embarrassed, (which will make him better most likely). There was a pro Motocross star in the 70's that hit the scene winning, and gained a big mouth, (Bob Hannah). He would spout off cleverly before a race. His mechanic asked him "Ya know Bob, there is nothing in the bag here. What happens if you talk like that and you loose?" Bob's reply: "That's why I do it." It was motivation to make sure he raced his best. If you talk, you better be ready to bring the best game you have. But I am pretty sure that kid will redeem himself. If embarrassment does not bug his head too much, (it can tend to break people), he will get better IMO.
Too the narrator at the end. I have no idea what my rating is. I just play the games loaded on my computer, (no chess activity in my area). But at 1:38 I think the white Pe5 is the best move, or castle maybe.
In general I agree. Except when the opponent literally snatches the King. Sneaking off the table in defeat while the King slayer puts on an evil smile seems more fitting in that case. Greetings to Forest from “Chat”, good game!😊
If my opponent would commentate their moves i would so angry and distracted. I understand he plays good, but he is so annoying. He will never be a gm if he doesnt drop the ego.
the ending was truly bitter for Forest. He thought it was a win, but that big lateral King snatch was totally unexpected. I'm sure Mom had a chat with him after about sportsmanship.
@@stevefletcher52 I saw nothing wrong with his conduct. Watch out for the guy who throws tantrums. That guy may have the motivation to win more any anybody sticking to social norms.
@@stevefletcher52 Yeah, leaving the table was just bad. I hope he came back, after someone told him to. But as you said: he is doing great in practicing trash talk! Unfortunately he didn't keep concentrated until the end, because that game would have been won for sure.
Yep, and he earned that happiness. Just watch out for the kid next time. I hope this silly loss on YT for the world to see does not break him, (and I don't think it will in his case), but I think he just found motivation that he would not have found any other way.
It’s technically an illegal move and not possible, but they play this way on coffee chess. King can be captured in their games. I think it’s totally fine and see no issue with it at all. If you can’t size up the board well enough to know you’re putting your own king in check, you deserve to lose that game.
@earthsurferusa no, not to capture the king. To checkmate the king. There’s a difference. The king has to be under attack with out the ability to move to another square without remaining under attack. Capturing the king technically isn’t possible.
Watch him become a star because of it. There is no shortage of greats in any game/sport who were "sore losers" and made it to the top of their game. I have no desire to force them into social norms. I would rather see "greatness".
look at the gleam in jims eye as he enjoys his last win over forest. :)
😂
He earned it.
@@NOTHGIF I think it's pathetic. He should be ashamed of himself for not praising Forest. Pride, pure and simple.

How did that "feeling" work in the end?
When the judge stops by, he only plays the big boys. I never saw him lose a game on CC, very impressive 👍.
Good game, well played Forrest!! - What a relief to not have Mango hootin' n hollerin' off camera the whole time!! 😅
I think Forrest took that loss a bit heavy.

want to give him a hug, it's allright kid
I wish there was some public chess activity in my area.

Forrest did not shake hands after losing to Mr.Jim, what a bad loser.
Pretty hard to memorize the middle and end game huh.

Takes the king? How's it even possible to mive the knight when you put your own king in check?
They play by the rules that you can blunder your king.
