The devil whispered to me “you’re not strong enough to withstand the storm” and I whispered back “ at least I didn’t lose my golden fiddle to some hillbilly in Georgia”
😂🤣😂🤣
😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
😂
💀
“Fuck the devil, good shit Johnny.” I want a headband that says that
bumper sticker material.
Johnny? Bravo. Awesome 😂
Yes
“To hell with the Devil”
And a t-shirt! 😂
I like how he’s so invested in the story of the song
Yo same
Same lol
It's hard not too with this song. CD is an amazing storyteller
Love is reactions you can tell they are truly genuine.
My man! I just showed my grandpa this video, he has alzheimer's and lost his brother yesterday, and you made his day! He laughed so much, he was in tears! Thank you for what you're doing, this was awesome!!
Mr. Video got us all thru the pandemic
Such a lovely story! All the best to your Grandpa!!!
Sorry for your poppas loss...and yours...hold him close
omg your comment brought me to tears I member this when I was baby girl, i loved it ever since
Bless you. Praying for you and yours...
Let us not forget to give props to the keyboardist who was so dedicated to performance that he played one-handed with the other arm in a sling.
IKR?
im pretty sure he is the bass player doing the keyboard because of the injury.
Does it matter? It's still amazing.
oh wow, i did not know his keyboarder would do that! i was paying more attention to Mr V
I saw a man rolling a J about to listen The Devil Went Down to Georgia for the first time in the thumbnail...I had to see it unfold
Lmfao
Indeed 😊 Best thing ever 💙😂💙☺️🙏🙏🙏
We were all Johnny in this blessed day
LOL You should subscribe, this dude is hilarious! 😄
If you haven't, you should subscribe. Mr.V is freakin awesome.
Just imagine discovering all your favorite songs for the first time all over again, while getting stoned.
It's brilliant.
“Go Johnny! Kick his ass!”
Hahaha! 😂
Best part of this whole video was his enthusiasm for Johnny.
When he started yelling "Go Johnny! Kick his ass!" I died😂
I swearrrrr! 🤣😂🤣 it was personal for him lol
Hi
Right?!😂😂
Sad thing is the Devil clearly won
😂
“ idk what a fiddle is but don’t fuck with the devil” 😂 that’s a hell of a quote
My literal comment above
I know I am late but that needs to be on a hoodie
@@TheMagicalHippy I would buy that hoodie
take yo fiddle and go LOLOLOLOL
I wanna make a shirt of that
Your dancing and saying “GO JOHNNY!! KICK HIS ASS!!” Is the best thing I’ve ever seen on a reaction channel 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 you’re my new fav!!
Right??? He was so awesomely funny how he talked to johnny!
joke: what is the difference between a violine and fiddle? one has stings and on has strAngs
Hahaha nice
Nah, a fiddle smells like beer.
He sure is.
@@willmorrison1022 I heard it as "No one cares if you spill a beer on a fiddle" ;)
@@RLKmedic0315 Which would certainly explain the smell!
"What the hell is a fiddle?" LMAO
A violin and a fiddle are almost the same thing. A violin has “strings”, but a fiddle has “strangs”.
A music professor once told me, "It's how it's played," that makes the difference between a fiddle and a violin!
@@johrathbun I always a violin was kept in a case and a fiddle was kept in a burlap sack.
@@russellgarmeson6605 OMG, that's even better, thanks for sharing!
A fiddle is smaller. That's what Charlie is playing in the video
I saw him live a few years ago. The man was 82 years old and was STILL killin it.
I love that y'all young folk (I'm in my 40's so ya'll young) are discovering all the good music I grew up with. This song is amazing and I love how he uses the music to tell the story. Like the devil is seductive and his music sounds sweet BUTTTTTTT we have the power to withstand his wiles. Love this so much.
R.I.P Charlie Daniels...I was fortunate enough to meet him once in the late 80s....I was working in a restaurant outside of downtown Nashville.....and he came there to eat and he had one request before he left and that was to come back to the kitchen and shake the hands of the dishwashers......so he shook mine and my friends hands and told us to keep doing the best that we can at whatever we do....fine man he was always.
Blessed bro
You're so lucky 💖
I must have been 10 or 11 years old when me and my family saw him at the new grand ol’ oprey in Tennessee. Probably around 2011 or 2012. I didn’t really know what I was getting in to, but my parents love country, so we went to the country music hall of fame and saw Elvis Presley’s car. But we went to the country music award show (not sure what the exact name was) and I vividly remember Charlie playing this song, and his bow was frayed and flabby, and his fiddle was literally smoking from the friction. But he played this song and since then I new that good music isn’t found in one genre or another, it’s about humanity and stories that touch your soul. If you know where to look you can find it in any genre.
@@beningalls6678 Well said and absolutely right.
R.I.P. Johnny
If Johnny could beat the devil with a fiddle, you can also beat the devil because you have a beautiful heart 💖💖💖💖 keep up the fantastic job young man, you make many of us smile 💖💖💖💖
xoxo
Yes you can . I’m praying for you son.
Your reactions seem so natural and it’s like we are all sitting around listening in the same room.
Please watch the movie Without a Paddle
So funny.
He is my new favorite
For real. Like “pass that J over and let’s hear some stuff that’ll blow mind”
@@bellalovretich4101 you won’t be disappointed. He is so funny and Genuine
That’s a great description!
My grandma made me fall in love with Charlie Daniels. I'm a metal head and this song still goes hard as f*ck. Miss you Grandma🤘
I just feel compelled to tell you. after hours of watching your videos, how trully blessed I feel. I love your expressions and mannerisms as you experience the music videos. You are one of a kind my friend, and one of the best. Your truths expressed, are raw, unadulterated, real-deal. Blessings!
This might be the best comment ever
Amen
He brings pure joy to us all 😁💖
Yes
Could not have said it better.
My uncle lived down the street from Charlie for years here in Tennessee, he always said he was very nice and humble. R.I.P C.D, a legend
Johnny: *challenges the Devil to a rematch*
Devil: You can't best the devil twice, boy.
Johnny: Then why are you walking away?
loved the second song to this one
Pirates of the Caribbean reference, huh?
Funny you should mention that there is an actual second song 2 this came out in the 90s
Since you mentioned it:

Charlie told stories in his songs as good as anyone. True Americana Folk roots to his music. He’s got so many. Uneasy Rider was my favorite because it’s so funny and seems realistic
“A Cherokee elder was teaching his young grandson about life.
"A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy. "It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil- he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, self-doubt and ego.
The other is good- he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.
This same fight is going on inside you-and inside every other person, too."
The boy thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather,
"Which wolf will win?"
The elder simply replied,
"The one you feed.”
I feed both, and now they fight my enemies for me.
What a wonderful story.
So true!
Wise words!☘
😂 why is this here?
The fiddle is the instrument Charlie is playing. I saw him in concert once and was just waiting for that thing to burst into flames, cause he played the fire out of it. Incredible talent. RIP, he’s now showing the angels he’s the best there’s ever been.
Devil went down to Georgia but he didn’t stay long, this is God’s country
Yeessss!!!!! C'mon somebody!!✊🏾👏🏾👏🏾🔥🔥🔥
Hell yeah! Good song
Amen 💙💙💙🙏🙏🙏
Good reply
So that’s what all those white hoods are about
I’ve watched this reaction several times. It NEVER gets old. You’re reaction to this song is the best. And I’ve watched many of them.
What a genuine reaction, my guy even postponed lighting up his smoke to pay attention to the story.
Look at that crowd! That’s how it used to be! Zero cellphones, holding up lighters! It was a thing when the whole crowd held up lighters. We almost made EDDIE VAN HALEN cry when we did it for him one time!
Shoot, I don't have any use for a lighter, yet I still feel like a lighter is required to take to a concert. xD
Never seen someone get so hyped listening to the goat play the fiddle
❤️
He's a good hype man! Lol. He should do that for concerts.
@@vintaqe_vibez5978 who should do that for concerts?
Mr.Video is just a genuine guy who doesn’t mind dippin his toes into different types of music and all power to him
As long as he's blitzed that is.
I swear; whenever I hear this song, my legs go to shaking & I magically have a fiddle 😎
I'm gonna tell ya my grandmother just died and I needed a good laugh tired of crying . Watching you watching the devil went down to Georgia I laughed my ass off . Loved your reaction made me laugh and smile thank you
No person with a soul can listen to Charlie Daniels without moving to the music.
I saw Charlie Daniels and Travis Tritt in concert (for my first time) in Oklahoma in December of 2019. Charlie was so dope and could still shred on his fiddle. He expressed his love for the USA, it’s citizens, and especially its men and women in uniform protecting our freedom and there was not one dry eye in the theater. He also saw a young boy in the front row who was dancing to the music and Charlie walked right over to him in the middle of a song and gave his bow to the boy. Pretty awesome souvenir and memory for that youngster. Now that he has passed I’m deeply saddened but also thankful that I decided to buy that ticket and drive from Texas to Oklahoma to see him perform. As I sat there just a few rows back I was amazed at how spry he was for being in his 80s. It just goes to show you that live is precious, health is paramount, and every day is a gift. RIP Charlie!
Love your genuine fear for Johnny and then the heroic victory celebration. You seem like a good dude, worth a subscribe for sure.
Devil made a big mistake, Charlie was waiting for him, and won! Rip, Charlie, From The Netherlands, you was much loved here too...
Good music has the power to span nations and generations, bringing all together 🎵🎶
Unbelievable talent. Mr Charlie Daniels- patriot, musician and fine American. May he Rest In Peace. 👍
And knew the Bible from front to back
Y’all he shook his head like Charles was talking to him!!! 😂😂😂 funny stuff. Loved your reaction.
The way you immediately got invested in the story 😂❤ best reaction I've seen so far
I fell very lucky that, I got to meet and interact with Mr. Daniels. I worked at a golf course that hosted his charity tournament, for a children's home in Tampa. I consider at an honor and a privilege. but, not because he was famous, or his immense talent. it was the character of the man himself. I don't quite know how to describe it, other than to say he treated me (and everyone else) like he had known us all of our lives. I was of course, nervous as I could possibly be, the first time I had to go and ask him a question. I mean he is Charlie Daniels, and I am some lowly assistant pro, at a small club in Brandon, Fl., right? it made no difference to him, he turned to me, smiled and gave me his full attention, with grace and mutual respect. ZERO ego, elitism, or arrogance from that man whatsoever. he was truly a class act, and downright wonderful human being. RIP Mr. Daniels.
I wrote this on the passing of Charlie Daniels
(Tribute to Charlie Daniels)
The Devil went down to Georgia
But he wasn't looking for a soul
Old Charlie has passed
And the Devil knew
They would duel no more
Everybody knew that Charlie was Johnny so
He laid that fiddle on the hickory stump
And walked off with his head hung low.
As the Devil walked away he could still hear it in his heart.
Charlie was the best that's ever been
But now they had to part..
Fuck Google you just don’t know a old southern man, in Alabama it would be very easy to call the elder men racist or hateful just due to the harshness and lack of filter, and it comes honest because most of them walk behind their talk. That being said a true southern man has love in his heart and would do anything for anybody no matter race, Cdb was a proud American and stood for what he believed
@Fuck Google how was he racist?
@Fuck Google it happens. all we can do is try our best to relieve people of such worry. Hate to ask but what kind of racist?
JoeM, that there is pretty awesome. RIP Mr Daniels.
“Everyone in Georgia ...run”. 🤣🤣🤣
"Georgia is tainted" 🤣🤣🤣
I am from Georgia and I support this message
Lmao!!!! “Don’t do it! Don’t mess with the Devil!”..... takes hit from devils lettuce!😂😂😂😂
Or God's grass
It's God's Grass
Watching you dance and telling Johnny to kick the devils ass just made my day 😂😂😂
This was one of my grandma's favorite songs. We grew up on old school country in the house. She's gone now, but you made me smile so hard with this song. Thought about my grandma the whole time smiling lol
Yo this dude has me rollin. They literally found the one dude who has been living under a rock all his life as far as music goes and made a RUclips channel. Im subscribing man your reactions are great
Yeah several of em are pretty legendary
I love how you were rooting for Johnnny the whole time. I forget i heard that song all the time growing up. I just saw what it is like to hear for first time. Great reac vid.
I love Charlie Daniels. He’s a huge supporter and philanthropist for Veterans.
I’VE NEVER WANTED A REACTION FROM AN OG MORE THAN THIS ONE. 😉✌🏼🎻
I'm like, chill, man. Johnny about to own the devil.
This dude needed to be in the background of the song. I lost it with "Yeah you knew you been beat. Fuck the devil! Good shit Johnny..."
This man was from my hometown, Wilmington, North Carolina. And lemme tell ya sumpin...I get chills every time I hear this...doesn't matter where I am, I sing along...RIP Charlie.
The "get your fiddle outta there!" Made me snort laugh
I saw him in concert with a broken wrist and he played “Devils went to Georgia”, and it was just as fantastic as what u just watched. Unbelievable how good he was!
I got to meet Charlie and his band when I was deployed to Iraq back in 2006... one of the nicest individuals I had ever met in my life.
His facial expressions the whole time I was laughing the whole time lol
Thank you for this tribute. Charlie was and has been a mentor and legend in Country music since the early 70’s. A man standing strong for God and Country.
With all this mess going on, I highly recommend “Simple Man”
RIP OUR GENTLE GIANT!
RIP Charlie. You greatly missed.
THIS IS MY JOINT!!! RIP CHARILE… non Covid related, he was just at HIS 🌅
Hello from Cody wyoming! Charlie Daniels was my first concert in my whole life... 1984 Laramie Wyoming.! It was so awesome... I'm 51 now.... what a great memory😀😀
Rip Charlie. One of the greatest to ever do it. They finally leaving that long haired country boy alone 💔
That is an excellent song
30 years ago I had never heard the Charlie Daniels Band music before. I like me some hard rock and heavy metal. Me and my boy went to the State Fair that year and Charlie was playing. All the Chicks were hanging out watching the show so that's where we were at ourselves....then one of the most AMAZING things happened....they played "The Devil Went Down to Georgia". I had been to about a dozen rock concerts in my life but, nothing topped The Charlie Daniels Band playing "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" before or since.
Alvin says play that Fiddle hard. 😊🐱
It's an all time classic!!!!
Ive watched a lot of reactions but yours is # 1! ....the band which back in the day i seen had you right by the tree stump watching Johnny kick the shit out of the devil...keep fightin young man cause life is tough, im 62, so i know, stay strong bro, make good decisions, hang with good people, and if theres only one good one thats all you need...DONT LET ME DOWN YOUNG MAN AND MOST IMPORTANTLY DONT LET YOURSELF DOWN - AWESOME REACTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"i don't know what a fiddle is... but don't fuck with the devil!" LMAO... thats classic
This is why I love older music, it was equal music talent and storytelling. That's what music is missing now - the stories.
I've heard many country music fans say that the difference between a violin & a fiddle is that a violin has strings, but a fiddle has STRANGS! Mr. Daniels doing a little bit of Southern rapping before the word "rap" was barely known to mainstream media. This is one of those fun upbeat songs that crosses genres & makes everybody clap their hands & tap their feet. :-)
Charlie passed away on July 6th at age 83... RIP
This is from 1973/1974, so CD was actually rapping before rap was invented!!
I just found your channel today and I immediately subscribed because I love your enthusiasm, openess to listen to new music, commentary and reactions. This one had me dying though. Plus the fact that you toke during is awesome. Keep up the awesome work and I can't wait to watch more of your videos. :)
Thanks for this reaction. I saw Charlie Daniels in the early days in my hometown at a weekend festival. He was FANTASTIC!. RIP Charlie Daniels ✌💜🎶
Just some friendly info. A fiddle & a violin are the same instrument. It’s the type of music that you play on the instrument that determines what you call it.
@This Is The End learned something new.
my dad knew Charlie since he was 19 coming back from Vietnam. they were good friends for 45 years & I grew up around backstage during a lot of these concerts lol. RIP Charlie 🤘🔥🍻
That's really cool!
I saw Charlie Daniels in 1980 Full Moon tour, yep i'm old.
This is so wholesome. The sharing of culture is a beautiful thing.
A violin has 4 strings
A fiddle has 4 strangs
❤
Charlie Daniels just recently passed. He was a good man!
I love the way you have discussions and even arguments with the video on screen ‼️‼️💯❣️
HILLARIOUS 😂🤣
Best reaction from anybody. I love this song glad you appreciated it.loved this
I've never seen ANYONE cheer Johnny on before. This is fantastic! R.I.P. Charlie Daniels ♥️
"Dont do it dude, I know the devil tryna ptrick you" lololol little did you know Johnny was about to open a can of whoop ass
This dude listen to this song like it was a scary movie, Noooo Johnny No!
🤣😂🤣
😂😂😂😂😂😂
In his later years Charlie Daniels Christian faith strengthened and he asked country DJ’s all over the U.S. to play the version that said “I done told you once you son of a gun...” . Most, if not all, honored that request.
Legend has it the crowd is still cheering.
Get the fiddle outta there.. I fkn died🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. It's brilliant 🤔🤔
Good loooks Jim lol hope u been up man
I love how you talk to the song. It's awesome
I saw Charlie Daniels in concert in Beckley West Virginia he was amazing the whole stage was surrounded by West Virginia state troopers and he said if it weren't for all these cops here we could roll up some fat joints and really have a party! Rest in peace Charlie Daniels he put on one hell of a concert
The boy in the song he's talking about is Charlie Daniels. Himself. He's telling a story from his childhood.
I love this reaction the most because you ARGUE WITH JOHNNY about the devil, not knowing the devil is gonna lose the whole time! It gets me every single time, because I'm over here with you "You do it Johnny, bring your soul! To me, you better DO IT! Johnny! Johnny is gonna BRING THE LIGHTNING just wait! You don't even KNOW!" And I preach it to you about how Johnny DOESN'T lose, and the DEVIL is GOING DOWN in Georgia TONIGHT!
I love it. So much fun to work out to
“I don’t know what a fiddle is but don’t F with the devil” 😂😂
Dude there is so much music young folks of today missed out on.
Yep I had the 60's and the 70's simply the very best era for music!
Had to laugh at you a little, considering my strong background in this type of music. The instrument that Charlie Daniels was playing is a fiddle. That's why the solos on the song are so crazy...Charlie was a master of the fiddle, as well as guitar. The fact that Charlie could play the devil's part and Johnny's part is amazing. Loved your reaction...I know that this isn't your type of music, but at around 4:20 in the afternoon we can all jam as brothers.
Awesome brother! Thanks for reacting to Charlie!!
There's an alternate version of this that's worth a listen.
The Devil went to Jamaica
The original also has a part 2 where the Devil revisits Johnny later in life
I remember as a child this song did not play during normal business hours, always after 9-10...
Check out "Uneasy Rider"...Great story song. I've had the privilege of having Mr. Daniels on my sports radio show numerous times. He was a solid dude and always amiable. Salt of the Earth dude right there. Yeah, he was a bit rough, but that's why we loved him.
I saw Charlie Daniels at Southampton college when this came out. It ROCKED live!!
He was SOOO nervous when Johnny took that bet...
Shit was even better actually live. R.I.P. to a legend Charlie Daniels
"I was just talking to that n- yesterday" O lordy, what kinda schemes was Satan pulling with my dude
Johnny became a Christian and he sings a song called "He's Alive" about Jesus' resurrection. You should react to that. Dolly Parton also sings a version of it.
I asked my granddad what the difference between a violin and a fiddle was and he said “the player” and I live by that 😗
The truth
