I think she went to Puerto Rico to record a movie and she felt so bad about the street dogs over there that she started a charity for it. She’s been wholesome her entire life.

Many Carribean islands have stray dog populations in their capital city--I was taken aback by seeing so many emaciated, sad looking, neglected strays. Some were limping due to physical injuries, and some even had open sores. I always felt more pity for the smallest ones, especially those whose gaunt ribcages were showing because they couldn't really compete with larger sized dogs as they all scrounged for food. I would give them a bit of food and some of my bottled water if I could do it quietly.
*(When I visited Old San Juan back in 2010, I was stunned to see so many stray street cats! I wonder if things have changed since then?)
