Hello Brioche! I’m interested in getting into modding for SFS and I was wondering how you texture and what software you use for texturing.
Hey mate, being honest, for the first couple versions of BR-Apollo I was kind of just winging everything, so a good majority of the textures are made in Paint 3D. For the improved textures in 1.2 (think Command Module) that I needed to manipulate and work with more, I made those in Krita. The game's shading and post-processing does much of the heavy lifting to making textures look nice, so just being clever with Paint 3D will be good enough for me most of the time. Krita has a bit of a steep learning curve and can be a bit unintuitive at times, so I reserve using it for complex textures such as capsules.
BR-Apollo is FOSS software, so all textures, parts etc. are publicly hosted and available to download on GitHub. I encourage you to poke through my source code, I think it would be pretty helpful. Join my discord if you'd like a bit more direct a line of conversation, I'm available to help anywhere
