Why not a hellcat?
You miss N/A this is perfect
Demon' there, fixed it for yah
Tried getting one this past weekend, 7000 down and a 701 credit score these guys still wanted 1200 a month, no thanks
I hope they never redesign the challenger, its a nice mix of classic and moden.
Sam Lung the only thing it needs is to drop some weight and then it’ll be completely set
@@devn3813 yes it really needs that weight reduction...
Midwest Mopars dodge doesn’t care if it’s heavy they didn’t make it to beat the camaro and mustangs butt they made it to be the car it’s supposed to be but it still kicks the mustang, camaro and some corvettes butt 😁
Matthew Hanna I agree but all I’m saying is when they eventually have to redesign it I’d be fine with them just making it lighter and look the same. I don’t think they need to do what ford and Chevy do and make it look all weird and ugly just for the sake of change
They could "redesign" it the same way Mercedes redesigned the G-Wagon 2 years ago.
They made it look exactly like the old G-Wagon...they just upgraded everything in terms of technology, safety and materials.
But they literally made it look like the old G-Wagon...till this day no one can tell the old ones and new ones apart.
I guarantee you couldnt tell a 2018 G-Wagon and the redesigned 2019 G Wagon apart.
Crazy how people argue like little kids over which car looks better. 😂😂😂 buy what you like and respect the fact not everyone has the same taste.
Example vii ok dad
Example vii Couldn’t agree more, BMW i3 is the only way to go!
Fact. I love all 3 of the muscle cars i have no favorite.
Real car people will appreciate any car you choose.
No! It’s all about me. No one can like anything that I don’t like.
Dear santa...
Yes. What is your wish?
Billy Ahn get me that car please
Don't change the exterior of the challenger pls. I will be fine with this design in 2056
*Scat Pack? They REALLY REALLY need to change the name of this Car.*
MAGGOT VOMIT lol
Best looking car out. And in a manual. Can’t argue with that. Thanks for reviewing a stick shift.
6ixSpeedStang18 right.... Doesn't even Coke close to gt350 in the looks dept
Raymond Rocco lmao a supercharged v8 vs a n/a v8 , no shit . Wait for the new Shelby that’s coming out , going to dust the hellcats
@@raymondrocco6251 that's the dumbest shit I've ever heard and you just made that up. Bet you can't provide evidence of 1 s550 owner saying that.
Raymond Rocco gt350 is a track car so can’t compare it to the redeye
@@anthonymolina7416 i know it's a track car and should be compared to the CAMARO ZL1.1LE. Motor TREND tested the RED EYE and we're extremely impressed with the REDEYE overall performance. RED EYE WILL surprise you on the TRACK and has a way better track suspension than the DEMON. I dont go to the track and most average guy's never been to a track. My 2017 challenger Scat pack handles good enough for public roads. I actually kept up with a BMW M-3 going around a winding country road in rockaway new Jersey and NEVER lost control. Car stayed stable and the RED EYE will blow the stock SCAT PACK away with the better suspension and wider tires
That stock exhaust sounds like an old school muscle car right off the factory floor!
To be honest everytime i hear a new mopar i think its a fox body. I swear they sound identical to the oldschool flowmaster catback
Man that naturally asprirated V8 sounds so good with that factory exhaust they did a really good job with the stock exhaust
Agreed!
It has a good tone, but coming from a person who's heard 392s in person, its not nearly loud enough. My 6.1 challenger came with the most wimpy exhaust from the factory, I had to take the mid muffs out (and honestly it's still to quiet)
Not really it’s shit compared to the Charger exhaust upgrade.
I like this version of this Challenger looks nice and good engine sound
@Jays Gameplay/cat videos yes I do know what it means
I‘m watching a lot of Challenger Videos because we don‘t have any driving around here in germany. Last week i saw a Widebody Hellcat for the first time in my life and my mouth stayed open. It looked 1000x more brutal and intimidating in real life than it already looked in those videos. Germans can say what they want about American cars but if you see this car in a german street it makes every other german sportscar look like a joke.
eeehmm what agreed 110%!!!!!
Hell yeah!
American V8 hard to beat.
Lot of widebody reviews. 1st wide body manual review I've seen. Thank you.
A Challenger with a manual
Real American Muscle
That's right now you talking.😊
I wish theyd make the Charger in a manual. I'm in the market for one.
@@Ill_trigger_you_lol yeah I wish the Charger had a manual
would have been an actual beast
Silver N Black Mopar yeah you can say and it’s true
But real muscle car has a manual transmission and V8
It is not always about speed it is about driver
I picked up a 2010 rt manual for under 18k with 51k miles last week. Best decision ever
I love that you reviewed a 6 speed! They’re not as fast as the 8 speed, but it’s a great gearbox. One thing I do notice about mine is I end up skip shifting it around town. Even with the skip shift feature eliminated on mine, I still tend to shift from 1st to 3rd around town because it has so much low end torque. Also, 6th gear is SUPER tall, which is great for mpg (I avg 22) but kind of awkward for non hwy driving. No regrets about getting a 6 speed!
Alan Boyle you are spot on about the 6 speed I love mine to.
Mikeman Jordan it’s pretty smooth for me around town
Well hell, guess I failed No Nut November.
Goodness, this car is beautiful
Bruh
Life is short. I'm gonna cum as much as i can.

Finally a Challenger Manual review! I was so close to buying an SRT8. Thanks Matt ive been waiting years for this video!
Manual transmission, ohv 392 natural aspirated, V8, a sunroof, that's ALL I NEED. PERFECT long distance traveler & fun to drive. I'm in.
This would be the new Challenger I would buy as the Dodge engineers went to town on this model suspension-wise. Thanks for the positive review of it, now I'm tempted to trade my 2014 Challenger in for this model!

Didn't seem to impressed compared to other cars he has driven
SteveD he’s pretty much used to the 392 by now. He’s done like 5 videos on 392 powered challenger’s, Jeep’s, & Charger’s

This car looks good and sounds great.

I really enjoy the videos you do. You have a very practical approach to reviewing cars and give a great perspective as daily driver. Thank you for the videos, keep them coming!
I don't know why I keep watching reviews of the challenger. Basically it's an awesome car period
This will be my car in a year or so 100% in love with it
They might get a redesign next year, so I'm gonna wait and save 600 each check until may or so to see if they dont ruin it like they did with the newer camaros
Thanks Matt! This is a very nicely made review. Well done! The car is probably the best version of the Challengers. Cheers!
Great take on the challenger with multiple viewpoints. Nice work. Great choice for the song as well!!
I really love what they did with the whole Challenger lineup especially with adding the widebody which I think makes it look even better as if it didn't look good enough, keeping the whole muscle car feel is amazing and love it so much I'm going to buy one once I can
The Challenger is my favorite car of all. Finally took the plunge last September, and traded in my Honda Civic for a used 2010 Challenger R/T. Your videos helped push me over the edge.
How has it been? I'm on the same boat. I've got a 5spd 2004 civic. Looking to get a R/T Challenger widebody in a manual :)
@@k3iler05 Still going strong. I didn't get it in manual, since I didn't know how to drive a stick.
Now I do. I bought an 08 Civic Si with over 200K miles on it, just so I could learn. I've since upgraded that to a 2011 Mustang V6 manual transmission with 175K miles.
I must say, the silver Mustang looks good sitting next to my bright red Challenger. :)
@@PinkyPowers That's awesome! Glad to hear that you learned how to drive a manual. Would you upgrade to one of these in a manual instead of having 2 cars?
@@k3iler05 Definitely. The Challenger suits me best.
@@PinkyPowers That's how I feel about it as well. Even though we could get a nice C63S AMG (used) for the same price haha...
I enjoyed the review as always Matt. Although I love all of your videos, I found this one special. You seem very relaxed and at peace in this shoot. I hope that it's due to good reason. Wishing uou you the best as all of your subs do. Thanks for the great content as always Matt - Mike (Pharmacy)
Thank you Mike!
Great job Matt. I learn so much about this car. I love it.
Just got a challenger today and damn am I in LOVE!! 😍
Everything all right Matt, you don’t seem your normal energetic self. Great review none the less.
Ronnie Johnson it’s cuz he’s drove like 10 challengers already everything from the v6 to the demon and he’s had it as a press car for a week lol so of course he’s not as excited

I can’t even lie these have grown on me, I like them.
Looks good, sounds good, and I'm so glad it's manual
Matt these do have active exhaust, if you press sport mode in the drive modes button you will hear the difference. Sounds even better!
LOL I barely could hear your comments over the exhaust noise but I love it!
Great video as always Matt, that's the dream job right there, cars all day 🤤
Favorite car, favorite brand, tks for existing dodge. Don't ever change.
I definitely have to get one of these. I want the better grip. Also the retro design is fantastic. Was considering a Camaro but after checking the Challenger out I need this car.
Great review! The exhaust on this car is perfect!
Perfect spec dude! Love your taste 👌🏼
God that Destroyer Grey, such a beautiful coat.
@PitchTrails Such an awesome color when done right, a few auto makers dabble with it here and there and I'm always impressed by it lol
@Just your average Joe it's cool man, simply my personal preference. Let's keep the negativity to ourselves.
Never been so into a grey color until destroyer grey

*boat.
That would look even more ballsy with the shaker hood and scoop
Can't you buy that part and add it? The hood and shaker piece? I'd imagine you could
I dont see why not, that's something I want to look into
So I looked into it. The scoop induction kit and hood are separate but you can absolutely buy them and itll fit with no issue
@@dillonhughes1417 that's bad ass
@@dillonhughes1417 This is good to know! I love the shakers.
Good review.. good looking car. As an '09 Bullitt owner I was waiting on the '19 Bullitt. At least until I came across a new '18 wide body Hellcat Challenger at the local Dodge dealer. It now rests in my garage next to the '09 Bullitt. That aside I love these Challengers on all the points you touched on.
Awesome car and awesome review, Matt.
test drove this bad boy myself. same exact car. only change im making is that im going with plum crazy
Exactly what I did. But went the T/A route.
Good man.
@@DieselJE What's that version all about?
My dream challenger right there
I'm totally stunned since i watched this Video for the first time. What. A. Car. 😮
Great job Matt !!
I checked the clutch pedal on a 2019 it was the same as my 2010 R/T very easy to depress.
I love these new scatpacks so much you don’t understand. But there are SO many hellcats running in the 40s (cheapest hellcat 37k as of now) that it’s just tempting.
Great review Matt! That purple Challenger is a panty dropper! For years I’ve been thinking about getting the scat pack just can’t make up my mind if I want the Charger or Challenger. This wide body Is hot tho!!!! 🔥 I currently have a 14 Charger sxt so not fast but still has been a great car for the last 3 years!
Great review Matt. Would love to get your impressions of this car with the Automatic.
Damn I love that color.
Manual! Thank God for bringing it back! Now it is a real muscle car!
All Right MATT!! Please Hush Up !! So we can hear that lovely engine & exhaust note!!!!!!!!!!!❤️

Nice review. So detailed!
Such an awesome machine. Love that oldschool manual.
Thanks for mentioning the transmission in the title. I wouldn’t have watched it if it was an Automatic or whatever they put in cars nowadays. Thanks for the vids Matt!
This is a mans car
Facts. 👊👊
Mustang: I am INEVITABLE!
Camaro SS: ...
Challenger 6.4L scat pack with 6 speed TREMEC: NO, Your a dude, but this... this is a MAN!💪
Well spoken review.
Awesome car all around.
Man, I’d love to have one. I’ve never had the opportunity to get one, but I’ve driven a Challenger when I was test driving an older model. They’re definitely still my favorite dream car. Hopefully I’ll get one. It has to be a stick shift. I’d also have the same reaction while driving one lol. That’s when your any kid pops out lol. Beautiful car.
Yeah. Despite what the Ford and Chevy guys may believe, FCA got it right with the Challenger. A great, iconic American muscle car, period. Good review. Thumbs up.
I'm a Chevy person but I am loving this car. The retro design makes it worth it and it's a very solid muscle car.
got a little Demon 👹 action going on
Great review and a badass car!
I hope you get one someday, I highly recommend, I enjoy mine!
Question... Why is the hellephant motor only made for cars pre 1976??
Emissions?
Yeah it's for emissions.
They did the same thing with the 392 at first.
no cats or exhaust come with the motor so you cant put it on a modern car unless you fabricate your own cats and exhaust which is nt hard to find someone to do for you.
Just move somewhere that doesn’t test emissions
If you gonna buy this type of car, believe me,the customer not care about the cost, just care about the sound ,looks and size of the engine.😎Mopar power!
Life is great when you have money. 😏🙄
Beautiful ride up to Mt. Charleston!
Beautiful scenery, love it!
FoxBodies had a 14 year run, I wonder if thr Challenger may go longer at this point. Either way, looks like a fun car.
GearHead704 the platform is over two decades old...
Couple more points in favor of the automatic, adaptive cruise control and remote start aren't available with the manual. Both are options I use daily, and often, in my Challenger, and it's ruined me for even thinking about a manual Chally.
Who cares? And btw, the technology for adaptive cruise with manual trans' exists. I've driven manual semi trucks with adaptive cruise
Love it. Nice color. Sounds so good
My dream car, destroyer grey scat pack widebody 6MT... I wish I could afford one at this time... Gorgeous
just robbed a bank so ima be getting your dream car tomorrow YAY ME
one word. Manual
Automatic is my preference what about you?
Manual is a cool guy, he gave me $20 one time
And?
is better than Automatic
PARSA Auto way to go.
I don't care if mustang and Camaro are faster. I love the look. I love it big and heavy. Just like old muscle. Just give me a manual rt and I'd be happy . Hell I love my sxt plus blacktop.
a manual RT? Big, heavy, slow........how enticing!
Great review! Thx
Always love your videos keep up the good Quality thank you for your hard work
I've only got one problem with this car...
I can't afford it. >o
Save up wisely for it. I believe you can do it.
Or wait. Value plummets on most cars after it's only a couple years old.
Cobra Strike Down these hold their value pretty well
I love this car, but Dodge STILL, to this day, cannot get the damn taillights lined up.
That's how we like it though.........
I mean they couldn't even center the engines in the 60's and early 70's. They were offset
Best review of the challenger
WoW. Im getting one. Manual. Just perfect
Grammy shifting, not double-clutching like you should
50k is really kind of a steal for this honestly
Grant Rodgers lol hell no
Nah it seems too much for 50k. Might as well buy a hellcat
5.0 Turo opinions on price points from a crapstang owner is irrelevant
50k is a lot for this. I’ll wait for them to hit the used car CPO lots. They’ll be 39k within a year.
Grant Rodgers starts at 40k
Hey matt! Loving the videos! Would you consider doing a review for a 2019 Dodge Charger RT plus? I hope you can ! Thank you
A great review, Matt, but would have been nice to see the window sticker and/or have a discussion about what the options are and which ones this car has.
I want one so frickin bad!! Lol
Why do you let the engine drone in those low gears sounds like I'd go nuts listening to that on a long trip.
I agree! I just learned Manual on my 2017 Scatpack Shaker
Tezale Hall was that overwhelming? I started on an rt and that clutch is a lot trickier compared to smaller engines
Best interior ever seen in a scat pack
I think this car is at the top of my list right now. Looks great, under $50k, loads of power and comfort and can be daily driven but also fun on the track. Does anything really compete with this for that criteria?
I think the Camaro SS 1LE qualifies if you don't mind the visibility. Also the Mustangs offer a similar wide tire package but don't have the coolers needed for track use, so you'd have to add those yourself.
@@MattMaranMotoring You think the 1LE would be a good daily? Isn't the ride a bit hard? But yeah, the Camaro and Mustang are good runner ups for me.
Norwegian Blue if you're only looking for a Challenger then look for the T/A or the Shaker 2. Way better than the scat pack itself.
Since when does adding fender flares constitute a “wide body”? If that’s the case, they need to rename most of the diesel rams.
Always lol
D//V//NE well theres a shit ton of wide body rams rolling around my town. Dont even get me started on all the wide body jeeps.
Because the wheel base width change is dramatic. They are huge fender flares.
Blueprint Walsh lmao. Wheelbase isn’t width.
Really nice review the best one yet (sorry throttle house yours might be the funniest ) 😋
picking one up next year! been driving my 05 gt too long
Awesome car, but it's too big for me. I've driven my friends RT and I felt disconnected from the road, and it had a bit of an SUV vibe to me. Shifter felt a bit cheap but that can always be swapped. I haven't driven a Mustang or Camaro but when I sat in them they just felt great, I wanted to just drive everywhere, sadly I could not.
Sounds like you have bad tastes in cars because the challenger is by far the best of the muscle cars
The rt is more a gt, fast and comfy, doesn't handle great, steering isn't very engaing, and the car is very heavy on an old platform. This car is good for some things and not good at others, if you want a sportier feeling car, a mustang or Camaro will definitely be better.
@@raulespinoza8668 It's an R/T Shaker with performance pack.
@@thuthuka1181 I disagree
The RT feels like a rental car compared to a 392. I had a RT auto a few years ago and it was a snooze to drive. It looked amazing, but once behind the wheel I felt like I was driving a crown Vic. A manual 392 is more like driving an oversized s197 mustang gt500.
I have a hellcat widebody and think the R/t widebody looks almost as good lol
Well yeah but not all of us can buy the hellcat lol this is more in my Price range at least for now lol
John Sigler agreed quite honestly they look almost the same except for the hellcat looking slightly more aggressive. Most hellcat owners hate that dodge did this but I think it’s pretty cool they made a more affordable hellcat 🔥👍
I can see why older hellcat owners would hate it for that reason but yeah for guys like me it's great because of that fact I guess it all depends on if you have an older hellcat or not lol
@@ghostking0019 my price range is not even up to a v6 challenger yet.. lol
Subie 2003 rather stay with my Challenger t/a with a 4.5L whipple supercharger. LOL 😂👌🏻
I absolutely love the color of this car.
Just sold my WRX because I feel like nothing beats that american muscle sound. I want this car!
