Thanks a lot for your comment. Bitter is a small car company. They produced only 395 pieces of the Bitter CD and 488 pieces of the Bitter SC and mainly sold in Europe. The Type 3, Rallye GT and Berlina have been prototypes and the Indra V8 was produced by another company in Italy. Later Bitter was becoming a car tuner for Opel.

Thanks a lot Brian! I bet these Bitter cars are pretty unknown for you. These were built in small numbers and technically based on some old Opels. Only the interior is showing some relation about it. But the outside is completely something else.

Never seen bitter work on cars other than their own so to see the Kadett Convertible is interesting.
The Rallye GT looks to have Ferrari rear styling like the 308.
What an interesting display of fine Bitter cars and some lovely looking designs.
I think the soul singer Edwin Star owned one.
    Great show Sven

Thanks a lot Glyn! I'm very happy that you like it. Bitter is also known to be a tuner for Opel cars. The Opel Kadett C Aero convertible is very interesting. The Aero was actually converted by Baur in Stuttgart because Opel didn't build convertibles by themselves. And then Bitter also took its hand on them with these fender flares. Assuming the engine will also have some more power.
The Rallye GT is very interesting. It's a prototype and the only existing car - it never made it into the series. Same about the Type 3 and the Berlina - I bet these also had a few Ferrari body parts.
The successful models were the CD (395 cars built) - it was based on the Opel Diplomat B. And the SC (488 built) - it was based on the Opel Senator A (Vauxhall Royale). The body is of course very unique and not showing the origin. But when seeing the wheels and the interior then of course the Opel origins can't be unseen. And of course the engines. The Bitter SC sedan is looking so long - reminds me a little bit about the Aston Martin Lagonda although the Lagonda was looking way more quirky and was perhabs much longer. But the style of such a long car in this boxy design ... but still both were very unique cars. And the Bitter SC sedan was in my opinion looking less quirky.

interesting company. I first became aware of Bitter as a kid in a Top Trump card game - always seemed very exotic!!

      @BFDdrives  Месяц назад

Good Morning Mike! They are really exotic. The Indra V8 is called to be the predecessor of the Bitter CD. The Indra was an exotic Italian car for the US market while the Bitter CD was designed for the European market and assembled in Germany. Only the CD and SC made it into a small series production. 395x Bitter CD and 488x Bitter SC. The other cars were single run prototypes that didn't go into production. And later Bitter was specializing into tuning of Opel cars. But here and there they did also try with new designs like the CD 2 in 2003 and the Bitter Vero in 2008 that also didn't make it into a series production.

Very interesting selection of cars and quite a few I've never seen before.
The Berlina appears to have an Omega dashboard and Calibra rear lights. It looks a bit Ferrari 456 from the front.....

The Bitter CD was the successor of the Intermeccanica Indra V8 Cabriolet - Bitter was convincing them to switch from Ford to Opel V8 engines. The CD was technically based on the biggest Opel car ever built: Opel Diplomat B. Very beautiful design. The successor SC was based on the Opel Senator A (Vauxhall Royale). As far as I am remembering the CD and SC were the only successful models. Although the numbers weren't too big but Bitter was actually a car tuner and so they had only small production series. According to Wikipedia they made 395 pcs of the CD and 488 pcs of the SC. The SC was mainly built as coupe - only 22 convertibles and 5 sedans. In last year I've seen one of these super rare sedans at a classic car show. I didn't know only 5 were made - it seemed like the owner wasn't even knowing that because all he did tell me was that the car was quite cheap to get because it seems like people fear about spare parts.
The Berlina, Type 3 and the Rallye GT were prototypes - so the only existing ones. Surprisingly I'd say that all of these three also have a few body parts from Ferrari. The Berlina is indeed based on an Omega - that's why you remember the dashboard from the Omega. Under the bonnet it has the MV6 engine from the Omega as well. It was shown on the Auto Salon in Geneva in 1994 but the car didn't get into a small series production. Bitter wasn't getting the money ready to start the production. So at the end they only had a small series production of the CD and SC and then also doing some tuning of some Opel cars still today.

@@BFDdrives Thank you for that very detailed and interesting information.
I've seen a few SC's for sale here in the UK with right-hand drive, but not many other models. I have never seen the Indra V8 before, it looks great.
I have to say the Berlina is a very nice looking car, it's a pity it never went into production.

@@ValleyDieCast The Indra V8 was also new to me. I had to check up what it is and figured out it is the predecessor of the Bitter CD. The coupe of the Indra V8 is actually also looking very much alike the CD. With the convertible I wouldn't have guessed it - but also because the engine bay was open. Otherwise I bet I could have seen they're relatives.
The Berlina is really very nice looking. Sadly they didn't get it into production. I wouldn't mind seeing some of them on some shows.

@@BFDdrives The Indra coupe is a really striking design, very Italian looking to my eyes.

@@ValleyDieCast The Indra V8 is an Italian car. Built from 1971 to 1975 in Torino. Mainly sold to the USA as I read. The Bitter CD was for the European car market. I just read the Bitter CD was based on a design from another Italian designer and assembled since 1973 at Baur in Stuttgart. I still don't get what makes the Indra V8 to be the predecessor - the story on Wikipedia is sounding very confusing to me.
