Your announcer complained that UCLA had an easier schedule this year (sans UO and UW) within the Pac-12. Since the details of each of the 12 teams' yearly scheds depends on alternating yearly opponents in the opposite division ( the erstwhile North or South designations) by conference companion schools of the nine P-12 games each team plays, with both UCLA and USC having perpetually scheduled SU and UCB, leaving UW/UO & OSU/WSU as the on/off within the yearly, all one has to do is look at USC's and UCLA's yearly scheduling of UO/UW versus OSU/WSU for last six years, inclusive of 2023:

2018 @UO/UW @OSU/WSU
2019 OSU/@WSU @UW, UO
2020 @UO UO COVID Year
2021 @UW, UO OSU/@WSU
2022 UW/@UO @OSU/WSU
2023 @OSU/WSU UW/@UO
So the scheduling is algorithmically driven, not because of favoritism, and besides OSU and WSU are very good this year and have been in prior years. And the commentator was saying that Dante was reduced to one-reads, wrong.
