You know, it's funny. I used to listen to nothing but Rock, Hard Rock, and Metal for the longest time. But lately, I've been opening up to more music; and I'm glad I made that decision. I've recently got introduced to ODESZA, and Flume by a friend of mine, and another artist by the name of Blackmill; and these artists honestly changed the way I thought about music. Back then, I never would of thought I'd get into music like this. But this right here, is amazing! Like, where has this been all my life? So as of lately, I've strayed away from my normal tastes in music, and have been listening to this. I believe this was the shift in music that I needed. Ps: Oh, and in case you were wondering. 'White Lies' was my first ODESZA song. I've since I first heard it, I loved it. And now I practically love all their songs! :D
I had the opposite change, I used to listen to nothing but Electronic based music, such as Trap, Dubstep, Chillstep, etc. Eventually I opened up to other music and now I listen to more of the Rock genre.
Dude I literally spent the first 17 or so years of my life listening to Rock, Metal, Prog rock etc like Linkin Park, Metallica, even Pink Floyd. Back then I slowly got introduced to Liquid Dubstep and chillstep and it's insane how I've lived so long without hearing this. My first song that I heard relating to this genre was Velvetine - Great Divide (Seven Lions Remix). I recommend you check it out! Plus I have a public playlist on my channel with loads of stuff like this!
Usually, after I've listened to a certain album or artist for a while, I begin to grow tired of their music, and I will completely stop listening to them. ODESZA is the single artist that I will never get bored of. Their music is simply magical, my life would not be the same without them.
I know exacly how you feel, every other artist i allways get tired of, but ODESZA i can just keep listening too forever, its litteraly music in to your soul
it was 2015 when I first heard this album. Weeks before my life changed, I was a tri-sport athlete in one of the best highschools in the state, had friends in all the groups, and a 3.8 GPA thinking about colleges and majors. Then in a matter of a few months, I dropped out, lost all of my friends, lost the sports, and started smoking every second of everyday. It was dark and lonely. I had no idea what to do anymore, where to go, how to live. This album along with a few other similar artists were the only things that stuck around. 6 years later, I've got friends, a girlfriend (which, yes, is unusual for me), a very active job, and I've just begun college for Architecture. This song brought me to tears because I feel like I've come full circle. I'm late to the game but I'm starting over. I pray to God I can stick with it.
glad to see you better man when i first heard this i was 14 and my life was on a low point but this album helped alot along with other artist but i wish i could relive being younger one more time to appreciate the good and avoid the bad you know what i mean
I was just listening to this song for the first time. It feels like an awakening, if you were to give it a sound track. My best friend moved into my house a couple of weeks ago and this song was making me think of him. We are polar opposites, but the bond we share is incredible. He has been very quick to remind me of how important it is to live my life instead of resigning to the "work, sleep, repeat" cycle we all get stuck in. He has awoken me and I'm already feeling more carefree and enjoying the little things more. We lived together 15 years ago and taught each other a lot. It's good to have him around after so long. I just hit your comment and tears started streaming down my face. You just made me cherish him even more. I'm really sorry for your loss. I hope you're still listening.
Don't wish them to go mainstream, let them continue being true to themselves. It's what we enjoy... people change for the worst usually...I enjoy your extacy filled music so much.
One of my most favored songs on this album. 1. Echoes 2.White Lies 3.All we Need 4. Memories that you call 5. Its Only 6.Koto 7.Say my name. Im totally new to Odesza's music but I love it already.
Sabrina McDonald Sun Models? and once you become a fan you wont go back :) lets just hope they don't get too popular and forget to make good music and hold cheap concerts for small towns like they did for where I live last week. Odesza is love, Odesza is life! :)
***** man I literally love every odesza track. Best music to drive around to on a sunny breezy day. Without you is amazing btw. As soon as I heard the gotye sample, I was hooked lol.
+Rae Caliguri Imagine those feels multiplied by infinity, I know you can't cause nobody can in this fleshy suit. You'll eventually be able to feel anything and everything at once ;)
It's sad how overlooked this genre of music is. I wish everyone would just take a day off from whatever they're doing just to indulge themselves in new music. If that were to happen, the world would be so much happier and peaceful than it is right now. Music has changed my outlooks on life so much. It's insane what people are missing out on I have to share!!
I use Tidal and every week I create my own Playlists called "Top 25 Week 25" or whatever the week is and I just put in music I discovered during the week. I cant live without music, I just wish I could actually produce music then my life would be complete!
This isnt just a song... its a wonderfully and beautifully made piece of art. I never comment on videos but the way this song is able to make feel things I didnt even think a song could make me feel moves me.
Every time I play this song, I just fantasize being in a whole other side of the world wether I’m alone or with a significant partner. Puts me in a state of mind of being free from work, school, society, and just of bunch of everyday shit we do that we get tired of doing. I know it sounds weird but this definitely puts my mind at ease in a crazy good way on new adventures and traveling...ODESZA is like drugs in my ear 😌😍🗺 🧳
That's what every fucken comment says, "Blah blah kids my age don't like this, like that." Fuck you, you're not the only one who likes these types of songs and is a millennial. 1998 kid here, bitch nigga.
LYRICS: Let's go out on the street. Let's go out on the street. You take me away, Faces, faces, they fade, Love, love, love, stays, Here, here, I'll take. Cross my heart and hope to die, If you ever catch me in a white lie. I lay me down in the tall grass, Tangled in the weeds in my messy bed. If you come and you come, Come and, come and, if you, if you~ Let's go out on the street. Bring me under the soil in the, in the roots I toil, Trial, crying, trying to show, Break through watch as I grow~ Cross my heart and hope to die, If you'd ever catch me in a white lie. I lay me down in the tall grass, Tangled in the weeds of my messy bed.
I actually live very very close to the university the two band members met at (Washington Western University), and I think it's so cool that some local people created something as beautiful as this. I am totally entranced by their songs, its amazing.
Thank you for sharing this with the world I feel my mind expanding, my heart healing, and my ears are climaxing to eargasm. From one creator to another ***respect***

This is just a perfect song to listen too when you are looking out of a window in the highway and also traveling. This is so perfect to listen to when you are looking out of a plane window of city lights. This is just remarkable.
This gives off such a refreshing feeling. Crazy vibes. Like just doing everything you’ve ever wanted, traveling the world, making memories with friends, forgiving the ones who’ve hurt you etc. I can’t imagine what it’s like to have had heard this live.
I remember. The first time I heard this song, I saw something. It was a flashback of my life in a span of four and a half minutes. It was great. Just imagining my life as a kid again. You should try Alt-J, they have a bit of a sad sound. But they are worth it.
+Curiouser and Curiouser I've listened to them, they're really good.

I was listening to this song when I found out my best friend died. It will forever remain close to my heart.
I am very sorry for your loss.
Justin Bailey I bet your friend was one as the song describes. (Let’s go out on the streets). Get out and live a little
Sorry for your lost they just upgraded is all. We got this family

About as close to a perfect song as you can get. Jenni’s voice mixed with Odesza’s beats are just *chef’s kiss*

I prefer it to be a smaller public, the best music for the best listeners.
It's sad how overlooked this genre of music is. I wish everyone would just take a day off from whatever they're doing just to indulge themselves in new music. This style of music is actually quite popular atm
It's an upcoming genre yes, but its been overlooked for years
+T Rawb For the past 6 years it's been pretty huge.
Indeed :) at least I'm not the only one!

I feel like this song is a tad underrated. Definitely one of the best I've heard from Odesza.
Without a doubt my favorite by them. Tippy-top shelf kind of song right here.
I find myself falling in love with every odesza song, one by one, each has its moment in my deep appreciation
Couldn't agree with you more @f.y
Definitely. Haven't been the only one.
All of the songs that I've heard by ODESZA are great, THE VOCALS are always amazing.
Definitely my favorite song off the album. You guys rock please never stop making music
This is soul music, something kids my age nowadays lack. They do not appreciate beauty.
That's what every fucken comment says, "Blah blah kids my age don't like this, like that." Fuck you, you're not the only one who likes these types of songs and is a millennial. 1998 kid here, bitch nigga.

God, this song is beautiful.
I want this to be the background music to my life

+witboi33 I've lived in summery places, and I gotta disagree with you. This is night music, rainy weather, cold, snuggle up in the dark music.
+witboi33 Different folks, different strokes. Maybe it's 24/7 music.
+witboi33 AGREED
ODESZA is music for any time no matter what
Agreed.
probably going to have this track on repeat for a while, too good.
I don't think I've seen a more positive comment section in my life
seriously. There's usually at least one negative comment in the first page but these are all very positive. Very rare to find.
ikr
yes
Fuck you
Check out San Holo's Birdsnest group on FB if you like positivity.

This song will always keep a place in my heart. I had the time of my life at Electric Forest seeing Odesza...So amazing live...
They crush it at a live set 😍
I'll never understand why Odesza and Pretty Lights aren't more popular. Sure part of me doesn't want them to be because mainstream ruins music, but its still unbelievable that people don't consider this music.
That's because this isn't Music, this is Art my friend 💯🙌
Big Kev lol nicely said
Big Kev has a point!

I could be running through a forest that is as colorful as this song, but I don't think anything could get as majestic as this.
if there was such thing as organic, kosher, gluten free music...this would be it lol. it feels/sounds so natural, and refreshing.
TheRuffEdits gluten free doesmt fukin mean natural
kosher? there is nothing natural about killing a cow by letting it bleed to an agonising death by slitting its throat.
This gives off such a refreshing feeling. Crazy vibes. Like just doing everything you’ve ever wanted, traveling the world, making memories with friends, forgiving the ones who’ve hurt you etc. I can’t imagine what it’s like to have had heard this live.
This rustles my jimmies
This rumbles my feathers mate
Galact amen
Galact LOL GALACT OMG HI BIG FAN MY FRIEND

That vibe 💜
Such a great track. Love it. Today was a tough day. Found myself listening to this on repeat.
OH MY GOSH where have you been my whole life ??

Have I died yet? Because this is just too heavenly...
Just try and remember the good times... sorry but you did die

I searched "White Lies" hoping to find a video of these Left 4 Dead (2) characters
but I found this instead and.... I DON'T REGRET IT
I was searching something different too!! It's a different song called white lies and now I like this one better!!
