I remember brother Yusha telling how he was sole picked and stopped at the airport and treated badly by the enemies and then telling them that they will see who will win on Yawm Al-Qiyamah. And also reciting Surah As-Saff or explaining it, and mentioning how success is achieved by sacrificing. O believers do not let your children and properties divert you from the Dhikr of Allah. They are only a trial and with Allah is great reward.

No matter how you refute these people, they will ALWAYS find an excuse to show a brother/sister is misguided. I wonder how they would feel if Allah did that to THEM on the day of judgement rather than overlook their bad deeds and be forgiven!
I've only ever come across one person like this, he was speaking all this religious knowledge and doing takfir, wearing a thobe and kufi, then ends up smoking shisha. Crazy stuff! Just cause someone may look the part and make you feel bad, doesn't mean they're this big shot scholar. I encourage all the young ones to refer to the Qur'an and Sunnah, and follow reputable scholars. Remember the iceberg effect.
Jazakallahu khair for the lesson because I didn't realise it but I actually did look down on my brothers in a different way as they were less practicing than myself in deen and only know understood that I should be teaching them instead of ignoring them; as the prophet (SAW) would, which is in a way that makes them want to get closer to Allah and not annoyed.

Knowledge in the right mindset and heart is cure but in the wrong is poisonous and venomous, the salaf ilsalah used to say to aboid kibr one must look at older people with a look that they past them with good deeds and younger gen with a look that one did wrong they did not commit. i tell you it happens a lot in my country Indonesia, the biggest muslim country in the world yet we are divided among us. some muslim group feel like they are in the right path and they attack or criticize other muslims who have different view.
