I have seen all the ‘live action’ Resident Evil movies, and collected the DVDs of all of them. I say ‘live action’, because there are also CGI animated Resident Evil movies. I loved all of them. All are epic.

Yes, this is loosely based off of the games. There's like 6 of these movies maybe more. The lead Milla Jovovich is in most of them.

The first two are pretty great. After that it gets a little....much
Mila Jovovich is the first real female action hero, alongside this series of movies, I would also recommend watching her in Ultra Violet. It has very dated CGI, but the story and action are still top notch.

So resident evil is supposed to be a horror series of games. There are many games. The movie series is kind of seen as bad. I mean here the majority of people get killed by lasers. What kind of zombie movie has people killed by security measures?
