Maybe come up with a series so more people will come back to watch like budget series or something. I promise ill be a concurrent viewer if you're a concurrent uploader! :)
Dunno if anyone cares but if you're bored like me during the covid times you can watch pretty much all of the latest movies on Instaflixxer. I've been binge watching with my gf lately :)
Great video but I don't think it works well with the Spyder 4. Also, I am a bit confused about the reset step. I reset both of my monitors to factory settings and there was little to no change to the monitor. Additionally, the process took extremely long. When I use the spyder software it's like 5 minutes. This software took 30 plus and I didn't even notice a change.
Can the same process and hardware be used to calibrate a TV? I would think not due to the inability to store and apply an icc profile on a TV. Any help is appreciated . Thanks.
ICC profiles are stored to the computer, not display. So yes, you can do it with a TV, however you'll need to keep the computer plugged into the TV if you want the TV to have the calibration.
Thanks, Bijan. Delivered as promised. I would like to add something: Keep doing what you are doing. Your videos are extremely clean, informative, and have such a high quality overall. It's only a matter of TIME for you to blow up, do not give up, please.
I'll never give up. My channel will be a year old (From when I first started posting) in about 2 weeks. If I can gain 17.5K subscribers in a year, imagine what year 2 will be like!
I absolutely hate that it is widely considered acceptable to refer to creating/loading ICC profiles on the computer as "calibrating your monitor" or "monitor calibration". It is misleading and technically incorrect. It should be referred to as "calibrating FOR your monitor" or "calibrating your PC colour output". Most monitors have multiple inputs (DP, HDMI etc). If you choose to use one of the other inputs to connect something like a games console or Blu-ray player, because the ICC profile is no longer in effect, you can no longer be assured of accuracy. There are two ways to actually calibrate your monitor. One is, if you have a monitor which supports calibration profiles directly on the hardware, which most don't (and all should in my opinion). The second is using hardware to measure and using the adjustments available on the monitor itself, but I've searched for information on the latter and it's pretty much impossible to find results because everyone is erroneously referring to calibrating the output of the PC with ICC profiles as monitor calibration (you see why I'm annoyed now?).
Until I bought a 1Display Pro a few years back, I tried many times with the first three mentioned methods. I have two VERY different monitors, and their screens looks night and day out of the box. Also after testing the mentioned three methods. After calibration with the X-rite software or DisplayCal 3, they are very similar, maybe 95% there. But it means a world of difference. I also calibrate my TV. A few years back, my Samsung F7005 and recently, my Sony XH9505, It makes an even bigger difference on a TV. But I use another software for that. EDIT: I've now tried the DisplayCal 3 software, and the monitors are closer than with the X-rite software. I really can't see any difference now xD

I found that my monitor was a lot more capable with contrast enhancement in Intel Graphic center set to "0" (default 17) anything more than 0 will alter colors RGB amounts (in other words changes the color!) and that won't help for accuracy of anything. Idk why Intel have such a bad setting by default, but it certainly changes the production of colors sent by the system to the monitor so even after taking time calibrating the monitor, it will lose some of it's wide gamut after all if that enhancement setting have not been disabled

I'll get a new PC in less than a month and I wanted to know if the Alienware AW2521HF will look better than the other monitor, I think it's a really great monitor, my only fear is that 1080p on a 25" display could look as bad as 1440p downscaled.

Hey I have a question about my new monitor Asus VG258QR, it supports gsync and freesync, i can enable gsync on nvidia and freesync in the monitor menu, do i have to switch freesync off because of my nvidia gpu or leave both on for it to work? Also idk if i should use tracefree 100 or just 60.
thing is, with these test images you get to calibrate your monitor: if you have a bad monitor, you wont have fun with them. some years back, my old 4:3 lg monitor from 2006 broke, that i used in my dual monitor setup as my second display only. i needed a new one, got a cheaop (around 119 bucks) 16:10 hanspree one. ok. test A, set the brightness so, that you cant see the right image.. ok done, next. okay, now so bright, that you can see both images.. wait, what? what images? turning the brightness higher: oh, there they are.. but wait.. clicks back to previous image: but now its to bright here. long story short: Low quality monitors suck for calibration, because they often cant do both at the same time of what the test want you to set up
Hmm... so what I'm getting from this video, besides the great explanations, is that you had the PS321QR for a while now and there's still no review of it. Tsk tsk tsk... :)
Hi Bijan, looking at 7:36 - does this mean that if I already have Calman Home for LG and buy the $50 Client3 addon/PC licence I will be able to use it to calibrate my computer monitor (Acer)? Tried to find the answer to this online but to no avail... Thanks and keep up the good work!

thing is, with these test images you get to calibrate your monitor: if you have a bad monitor, you wont have fun with them. some years back, my old 4:3 lg monitor from 2006 broke, that i used in my dual monitor setup as my second display only. i needed a new one, got a cheaop (around 119 bucks) 16:10 hanspree one. ok. test A, set the brightness so, that you cant see the right image.. ok done, next. okay, now so bright, that you can see both images.. wait, what? what images? turning the brightness higher: oh, there they are.. but wait.. clicks back to previous image: but now its to bright here.
long story short: Low quality monitors suck for calibration, because they often cant do both at the same time of what the test want you to set up

Thanks for the video, question: why are you preferring DisplayCal over the X-Rite i1Profiler software? Thanks :)
As usual, great content, top tier quality. Thanks for doing this!
I just purchased the Acer predator XB273U GX monitor after I watched your review. Just wondering do you have a icc profile for this monitor?
Oh my god thank you so fucking much, you have no idea how badly I need this for my XL2410 that I've had for years
Do you by chance have a color profile for the AW2721D that you reviewed earlier this year? I was thinking of getting a calibrator for this monitor, but I figured I could just download the color profile you made and it'd get m close enough. Thanks!
U are best of the best man in the World!!
can you review this monitor as a budget version of the LG 27 Pixio PX277 Prime as i believe that 1440p 165hz is a popular new monitor
You are good and have principles.. I like that. Ill subscribe.. Done. Keep up the good work
So, when can we expect the monitor shown in your capture (MSI PS321QR) to be reviewed? :) Thanks for the guide!
Hi Bijan, great video.
O saw some Huey MEU101 with very good price at ebay. Do you know of they are good?
Hey Bijan! I bought an Odyssey G7 recently but I'm not sure if I should buy a colorimeter to calibrate it. I know that you had and calibrated one not too long ago. Is it worth to try?
