Ok, I finally have a workflow for this!!! Step One: Don't do what this video is telling you to do 😂But he's on to the right idea. Make a subsequence of what you want nested and export that sequence as a project. Open it and organize it neatly. Save and close. In your original project, import the one you just made (select create new folder). Now copy that folder every time you want to make a new nest. Thanks for your help OP because you helped me get there; and hope this helps someone!
this is the most annoying thing i have ever experienced so far in premier pro. I literally smashed 3 pencils while trying to duplicate a nested sequence. Holy cow. Thank you for this.
Sorry for the confusion; hope you got it worked out. Be sure to duplicate the original main nested sequence and then overwrite each sequence within that nest with the sequences within your duplicated folder. With this method you're essentially updating the duplicated main nest with a 2nd set of new sequences.
Thanks a lot! This video helped me too much. I was looking at blogs and other youtube videos and couldn't find any solutions. This is the only video that really helped me fix it. I only had one small problem at the beginning, and that is that the effects are not copied, but that is easily fixed with the option to 'paste attributes'. I really don't know why there weren't more videos on youtube like this for a problem that sure many must have.
Well, it's work but very time-consuming to me. If I want to make 30 nests, it will take me many hours to do that. Maybe I need another method that faster and easier.
Ho-ly Shite! This is what's wanting me to kill things AARGH! I downloaded a bunch of transition templates, and have been copy/paste-Attributes for the last week! Fantastic to know that not only is it as simple as I feared, but presented by another soft-spoken Mike who helps his friends out. :)
@@JolanXBL Sorry to hear it's not working correctly. Please check your email; I sent a followup letter that will hopefully help. I think in this case, it would be best to use the Replace command instead of Overwrite. That should retain any effects on the layer. If you need further help with it, please just call via the number on my website. I'll be happy to explain it further if necessary. :-)
It is the only useful tutorial about the topic in youtube But after all this thighs explained in this video my effects are all gone in duplicate nested sequence how to avoid that can you explain this basically I'm doing a text animation but i have to reuse in the same project
Sorry for the confusion-- I went back and re-watched the video and yes, it was a bit complex. I should probably make a more concise, newer version. Thanks for the feedback! 🙂
Premiere needs this option to be as simple as right click: "Create a new Nested Sequence from current" or "Duplicate existing sequence"
Yes!! 🧐😩
@@theelvisphoto Right?! It shouldn't be this. DAMN. DIFFICULT. It's like the MS Paint-in-the-a** functionality that plagues this costly software.

Thank you for coming up with an even better solution.

Thank you for this.
I changed all the titles on my duplicate folder but it's still linked to the original nest
mine too

Glad it helped!
I think he made it more complex than it seems😂, just copy paste your nested sequence in new project and edit there🤣
you are absolutely right! much way easier than he did.. thank you very much!
Should probably update this... it was recorded 2 years ago. Thanks for the new info. :-)
Yes, that would work, too! Thanks! :-)
THIS TECHNIQUE WORKS SOMETMES AND SOMETIMES NOT ... :(

Ugh, it isn't working! Replacing the Nest kills all the Effects :(

By the way, I checked out your RUclips page-- pretty cool with the Game maps and such. Great to see you are a fan of Far Cry as well!
this is not working. All my keyframes on transform on the new nest is missing.
you are the man!!!!!!!!!
Thanks dude. Its working! you are a life saver. SUBSCRIBED!
Thanks for the sub!
thank you for explaining..this is what ive been looking for
Glad to have helped. Thanks for the positive comment as well.
Nice solution Mike, Adobe needs to hurry up and pull their finger out their asses and make duplicating multi-layered nests a feature
Thank you man! I appreciate
Glad to help. By the way, nice edit reel! :-)
🔥🔥🔥
Thank You So Much ♥
Welcome!
Dude thank you so much
I think he made it more complex than it seems
this makes no sense to me at all. my text still changes original
thanks

its helpful but man you talk a lot get to the point faster plz
Agreed. Still just what I needed
this is not a simple enough example
