I’ve made this recipe. It’s wonderful. I don’t mix everything together first, I divide all ingredients between the jars so I can be sure they’re equal.
I love ready to go meals in a jar. I had breast cancer surgery and radiation last year and it was so convenient for my husband to open jars offood we had in our pantry and just heat up our dinner. This Beef Stew is a must try for this year! 😋 Thank you to you, Leisa and Forjars for Canuary 2024
Ive done meals this way with the meat, added sweet Potatoes, carrots, celery , onion , salt & bay leaf, no added liquid. It creates its own juice from meat & added veggies & is wonderful.
Meals in a jar were a lifesaver for us this fall when we were both ill at the same time. This quilter's heart is always charmed to see a little quilted cooling mat. I think I need to get one done for myself.
I love the meals in the jar from this book. They make life easy when you are busy. My mother passed away almost a month ago. I treasure the things that she gave me from her own kitchen that she no longer used but I still used and needed. There are memories that go with them. That little magnetic lid lifter that your mom gave you from her kitchen will make you smile and think of her every time you use it.
Hi Tammy, my mom passed away the end of September. Not a day goes by I don’t think of her. I am so sorry for your loss. I know I really appreciate all the memories. Prayers to you and
@@pikecreekfarm thank you Rene. I remember when your mom passed away. I held on to my mom a little tighter as she struggled with her health issues. I think of my mom every minute right now but I am grateful for Canuary this year more than any other year.
This is a great book! Love that many of the group is sharing the recipes from it, so I can find more that I would like to make! Another great recipe! Thanks for being part of canuary!
I’ve made this before and it’s so so so good! I also do mine in pint size jars, because it’s just me, and I don’t want to waste food. A pint is usually 2 meals for me, and no waste!
❤Thank you Ladies! What a wonderful, soft voice, it makes learning, so stress-free! I’m glad you’re using the ball book because I can see what you’re saying, and doing! This looks delicious!
I agree with you that the best part of Canuary is getting new (or reminded of old) recipes and learning about channels I haven’t visited. Chuck roast is a favorite here!
Meal in a jar recipes are an absolute life saver!! I had to have ankle surgery a couple years ago & these type recipes kept us from starving. Thanks for giving me another recipe to add to our pantry!
I canned this very same meal in a jar this past summer. It is absolutely delicious! and thank you for being one of the collaborators along with Leisa and ForJars!!!
Meals in a Jar are real timesavers and handy to grab and go lunch. We can venison here too. I like how you show a good way to check if steam is coming with a utensil handle. "You hear it but you can't see it" I've burn myself pretty bad thiinking I could just feel for the steam.
I’m new here for Canuary. Thank you for showing the whole process of using the pressure canner. I’ve felt a bit intimidated by it and have just used water bath, but I’d like to give it a try. I like the “meal in a jar” idea too!
January is such a good month for canning when we are all visitor and visiting burnt out after the holidays and have the urge to just hunker down and do some nesting.
So good to see you Renee. I like that you use the ball recipe book for your chuck roast. It's a good guide to follow. Thanks for being a part of this collaboration
Thank you for telling us to check for nicks on the jars rims. I forget to do this. Recently I found a small nick on a quart jar around the rim and then I remembered to do this when I’m canning. Thank you so much! I liked your video, you are so relaxed and easy going. May God bless your easy life especially when it gets hard.
I've been canning since 2020 and it's a joy from beginning to end, I'm grateful for all the different ideas, the generosity of time given, and all the giveaways from SuttonsDaze and Forjars. Thank you for sharing.
Looks great Renee! Love all the recipes everyone is sharing. Every year there's something new to learn. Always look forward to the collaborations. Thank you!
I've canned stew, and I've canned raw pack beef but never thought of this. I've definitely got to get this on the shelves soon! Thank you! I'm so thankful for this collaboration of people who can safely and explain why because I'm learning how to can simply be following channels like yours.
What a great meal to can up. Looks so good, thank you for choosing that one to use for the collaboration. Thank you Leisa and 4jars for sponsoring the 2024 Canuary.
❤ I can’t wait to try this. I was lucky enough to find a used presto 500 circa 1989! I have used it 2 times, I only have the option to use at 15lbs pressure. But so far only 2 failures per batch 😂 been waiting for a deer this season ❤ thank you for sharing
OHHHHHH! A meal in a jar is just what I need! It's so nice to be able to take a jar off the shelf and have a meal in just minutes. Best part is we know just what is in the food - unlike the stuff in the store. This is great!
We love having heat and eat meals in a jar they are so great when we are sick ir short on time for meal making! Thank you for sharing. I am going to subscribe to your channel.
Im getting ready to have surgery, Im afraid my wonderful family may forget to feed me so I am loving these meals in a jar recipes I have been seeing. Thank you.
I’m single and retired. Meals in a jar is the best thing to cook for me and they keep me on my budget. I don’t like cooking for myself alone and on my fixed income. ❤
Just added this to my must do list. What a great recipe to have on the shelves. I also want to say how calming you and your voice are. Just a quiet, no rush or frantic scrambling around. Thank you. Very glad to have found you thru Canuary! 😊
Thank you for this ready made meal. My husband is like your's about these meals. I appreciate you Sutton's Daze for hosting CANERARY collaborative. It's so nice of you ForJars for sponsoring Canurary.
This is my first time here that recipe .look like some thing i would like to can. I am 72 and i started canning at 24 but never meals just fruit and veggies now at this age i see how important it is to have a meal already cook .Thank you for doing this.
Thank you for the meal-in-jar recipe! These look to be so handy on super busy days. I am still a little new to pressure canning but you make this look so doable so I will just have to try this one! Blessings on your day Kiddo!🌻🐛💕
I look forward to this for the last two years. I am such a new canner the safety first videos assist me feel confident with the process. Great ideas.. grateful
You have a wonderful, understated way about you, and your voice is soothing. I canned with my mother many years ago, but only did water bath in the last 30 years. Last year I watched many videos and FINALLY got over my fears of killing my family with botulism and took the plunge. I have done mostly pumpkin and meals in a jar. I opened one of these up last night - delicious. The people who want to keep it less carbs had it just as is, while another jar was thickened and poured over rice. Heavenly. Thank you, and I agree with your thoughts of everyone getting together in thought and spirit as canners. While I hope to win a canner, I realize I am a winner already with the knowledge. Thanks, everyone, for doing this Canuary.
I’ve done that too. Add the bay leaf to the jar to avoid it being too strong in one jar and having none in the next. I like the fact that your recipes are for smaller batches - we don’t go through quarts - pints are the way to go for us. Thank you.
Pot roast in a jar is a must on my shelves. So much you can do with it besides just a quick meal. Thank you Leisa for always promoting Safe canning and teaming up with For Jars for this awesome colab.
Even tho I am retired, there are a few nights a meal in a jar would be great to have as a go to dinner instead of driving to town for fast food. I have always enjoyed your videos. Thank you.
I love watching Canuary because I learn so much through the teaching and thought process each person brings to their videos. Thank you Leisa and Forjars for helping to reach so many people who want to learn the process of canning! Pot roast is always something great to have on hand!
Happy Canuary ❤ Watching all the canning videos has definitely made me confident that I can do this. I'm disabled now I can't stand long. WOW Life just got good again. ❤ Thanks for sharing your recipes and knowledge with us.

My first thought when I watched this video: I need to make this right away to take camping this year. I usually take separate jars of beef, carrots, potatoes and other stuff to make stew. One jar sounds so much easier. Thanks for a great video!
I make beef stew similar to this. It is absolutely delicious. On cold winter nights when we need a quick meal. It really helps to have this one in a jar. Thank you so much for doing this collaboration. Thank you For Jars and Sutton’s Daze for a fun activity to do in January.

Meals in a jar I like the convenience of that it would be very handy and stop alot of ordering out saving money and knowing what you and your family is eating win win 😊
My husband and I are in our 60’s. I have only been canning a year. We love the meals in a jar and I too like that I can make small batches. My only problem is the more people try my canned foods the faster I am running out. That’s a good thing !
Love the small patches. I make some for my hubby and me and also for my bachelor son. I like sticking his pantry with a few fast meals in a jar - comfort food when he’s missing being home. Thanks for sharing your skills with us
