I may have a solution that is not shown in this video for anyone out there who is still pulling their hair out trying to fix this issue: set your game to borderless windowed mode! Please let me know if this has worked for you because it's worked for me so far and I haven't had any stuttering. The game is easy to run so it's not your hardware.
all they need to do is give us the options to disable weather effects and grass, im sure that would be a massive boost for lower end pc's
Switching to FAST V-sync fixed it for me! :)
512.15 Drivers - RTX 3080
Thank you so much!
You saved my Elden Ring experience. Thank you!
You are welcome!
Completely fixed my issues with all 3 solutions. Thank you for uploading 🙏 definitely getting a sub
Thanks for the sub! Glad it helped!
Game runs at 60 fps for me except when it doesn't then it tanks every 45 seconds for two seconds or so. There was an update that fixed it for me but it's back now.
None of the steps worked for me but at least it looks like it's helped a few people.
It sucks that I can only give you one LIKE and Subscribe. If that weren't the case I would be happy to give you a million. Count on me logging in with my two other accounts and doing what I can for you. This worked wonders as the game just cannot be played with the frame loss and stuttering.
So glad it helped!! :)
All those fixes worked! Thank you :)
I’m glad! Enjoy!
Messed up 3 weeks back.
Followed your every step, except I forgot to set v sync to fast (had it just on)
The game was freezing every min or so for 1 to 2 Secs
I have not disabled the Root enumerator.
I'm running the game with the Nvidea 3080 On Max Settings
And it's running "Buttery Smooth" :-)
So Many Thanks for this.
You shud be working for From Soft !! LOL.
You have gained a Sub Sir :-)
If Digital Foundry said that stutter is not fixable for now, I do believe them. I tried few fixed mentioned, none works except for NIS, which improved quality.
To completely get rid of stutter they are right, but I have been playing and streaming for over 15 hours and had almost no stutter since
I just had to take my to 1080. 95% of the time it runs awesome in 2k, but for some reason it will go into slow motion, then everything speeds up all at once... it's really odd.
Ever since one of the updates my games freezes for like a second or 2 then speeds up two times back to back man I can not figure it out. It never did this before now it wont stop
My frames stay at almost a solid 60 then out of nowhere my game will freeze up for a second then speed up then do it again.
I can not find a fix man making me not want to play. A few frames dropping would be ok but this is to bad to play.
Yeah I can’t believe they haven’t fixed this yet for PC
If you have tried everything else and nothing worked like me try this!!! No Bs.
I'll post footage on my channel or live stream.
If you had the same problem as me.
Which was that it worked perfect for you before then all a sudden started doing the 2 freeze thing. Freeze pause freeze pause then speeds up!!!!
Roll back your driver settings and windows updates!!!!!
I just did a factory reset and it is working sooooo good man how it was.
It's either a driver or windows update fs.
I factory reset and this time in set up I did upgrade to windows 11 but other than that I did 0 driver updates or windows updates even though it wants me to but I'm scared to because the game is running sooooo good man wow. I swear I never have any problems till I update my PC...
From now on I'm waiting like 6 months before updating and I may not even do it..
My shii works perfectly fine out the box man from now on I will just postpone windows updates for 30 days and keep doing it lmao.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!!!!
Sometimes these driver and windows updates are bugged man I'm telling you.
I’ve done all the mentioned changes and still no change in the horrible stuttering. Running an RTX 3080 ti with i7-12700k.. Also verified file integrity with Steam and files were fine. They really need to fix this garbage.
It is unacceptable that it hasn’t been fixed
@@TheNathanNAPALM it truly is unacceptable. It really bothers me that the game would get such high praises and ratings when it's a complete stuttering dumpster fire on PC..
I agree. For the first time in my life I wish I would have gotten it on a console instead. That should never be the case when I have an excellent rig that is way more powerful.
its an DirectX12 Issue, every Souls game has it, playing it on Vulkan where Shaders can be pre-cached works fine on Steam Deck and Linux PCs
with a 3070ti my game still drops down to 30 in certain spots no matter what i do, whether its optimized through nvidia, overclocked, low graphic settings, with your video solutions, its still taking unplayable frame rate drops
The first two improved it by a long shot.
Thank God, the vsync option helped tremendously. Not perfect, but frames and stuttering feel near perfect. Cheers
Just want to say thanks for fixing my framerate issue.
in my first play through i beat all the bosses with insanely choppy gameplay so i didnt enjoy the game so much, but i hope now i can enjoy it better
I have the fix
First start elden ring then go to taskmanager then click on elden ring then click on details then click on elden ring exethen set affinity then double click all cpu then ok
Thank you! The stuttering was awful and I was considering putting down the game but thanks to this video it's completely gone.
Tried this plus every solution in every forum imaginable. Nothing eliminates the stuttering. I feel scamed. I'm on a RTX 4080 man, that beast run ANYTHING, and this PS4 game won't stop stuttering. Honestly I'd refund it if I wasn't 40 hours into the game already. Descending to Nokron with this much stutter is a nightmare
you find a fix?
This actually worked. Was so ready to just ignore this.
Man, I followed every step, and it still does it 😒
Unlimited shader cache fixed it for me! Ty you're a god!
Thanks, I did the first two and seems to have sorted out my juddery mess on a 2080 super.
have they actually fixed this shit yet ? I still get stuttering
Actually fixed all my stutters. Thank you!
Glad I could help!
I tried all of these and no luck still get the freezing when moving for a a second or two and stuttering. 3080 i9 9900k and 16gb ram…
I’m sorry to hear that, some people are reporting that after 1.06 patch it has gotten better
@@TheNathanNAPALM nah I have tried everything. Even playing on low settings and it still stutters and freezes.. I have no idea why as my PC is a absolute powerhouse and I can play any.. ANY other game on max/maxRT.. Elden ring just isn’t opting or PC. My ps5 plays it smoother
@@agamerandyou9854 my gf has the same issue, also with a powerhouse of a PC. we've tried everything and can't figure out why it lags so much.
Does anyone have any more things to try, besides what's covered in the video?
Did u fix it?
Took a shotgun approach using all the Nvidia settings tweaks and one of them worked! Great vid, thanks for the help!
Dude i love you.
I got Nvidia rtx 2070, first option worked!
Thanks alot!
I want to update that the stuttering came back and none of the options solve it...
My issue was i have 2 drives, a fast ssd and a slow hdd, accidently installed it onto my hdd.
Thaaaaaank you soooo much, the shader size change did it for me!
The first (shader cache) worked for me I quit the game because of this but now I can play it again thank you
My pleasure, enjoy!!
The settings work. I tried the settings but couldn’t play the game because of work. The areas I visited earlier didn’t stutter much or at all after trying your fixes. Thanks very much.
thank you so much i have 145 hours of screan tearing and you fixed it for me
What a life saver man! Thank you so much! Still got some very minor stutters here and there but definitely improvement! Running it on 3060ti ryzen 5 3600
THANK YOU IT WAS GENUINELY UNPLAYABLE AND NOW ITS INCREDBLE❤
So glad it helped!!
Also disable “High precision event timer” in device manager . Fixes stutters for a lot of games
3080 ti user here. Fast vsync helped a lot. Thanks dude! Shit was driving me crazy.
