The game is on n NVME in the gen 4x4 slot... Seems like every few months I gotta delete shader cache, play while giving it some time to regroup... And then the stutter is gone... For several months again. Set Shader cache size to unlimited, make sure hardware acceleration is enabled for the game, if clearing cache and that doesn't work then disable Microsoft Root Enumerator in Device Manager.
I love fromsoftware. But this is beyond unacceptable. If i am spending money on a product, i am expecting perfection. especially after how successful the game was. I was considering playing the DLC as i sank hours in the game. But not having the slightest performance enhancements and i heard that there is a bossfight that drops 0.1% lows to single digits. Not a good sign to be fair.
They focused more on nerfing than fixing actual bugs 🤣 guaranteed to piss off players if they are not pissed enough with how difficult the game is and all the nerfs up to now, more to come.

95% of the time I’m at a solid 60fps. Whenever there’s a stutter it’s always because cpu cores 2&6 are being hammered to 100% while the remaining cores are under-utilized.

That's the reason why people who play mostly pvp install the PS4 version of the game on PS5, to squeeze as much performance as possible. Even then, some areas and particle effects make it go under 60. It's surprising that many PS5 players don't even realize the performance is bad.
Ya, I found it really hard to get past how bad it is technically, and the graphics are outdated.. super high-end system, so I'm used to things running well and looking better, but this was a step down in those respects for sure
These issues have rendered the game nigh unplayable for me, the game will run at consistent high frames and out of nowhwre the game will drop to 15-20 fps and never goes back up until i restart the game

The optimization and performance issues have basically made the game unplayable for me. I had 200+ hours of playtime with very little to no major performance issues, came back to the game after DLC released and now my game is constantly fluctuating between 40-50 fps, sometimes lower, even on minimum settings and I still get flickering lighting/shadows everywhere in the overworld. Coming from running DS3 at a solid 60 fps, having to deal with Elden Ring running so poorly ruins any enjoyment I could get from the game.
I have no issues on my main rig since it's a beefy i9 cpu & 4090 all watercooled so running that thing all maxed out and it runs cherry, but on my 4070 laptop with an ultra core 7 intel cpu 32gbs of ram and even without maxing the settings in 1440p I get constant frame drops/stutters which sucks especially in the middle of a boss fight. Really hoping they put out some sort of optimization improvements in the months to come.
That’s weird I have a 4050 laptop and I’m running 60fps with no dips whatsoever and I’m running the max settings on top of that my resolution is 2560x1600 but the game is eating up 17gb out of my 64gb ram that I have temps are pretty low averaging around 50-62C Gpu only using 70watts and my gpu isn’t over clocked at all with that being said it’s crazy how everyone else is having major problems with fps

Even after disabling every e-core, setting my GPU to max performance and nearly everything else possible (With a 4060 rtx chip and an i5 12000k series that runs RDR2 at a steady 60.) Tho my GPU isnt that beefy, only 6gigs of Vram and from what i remember its underclocked for temp reasons.. shouldve went with a 3080

0:05 Shadow of The Erdtree alone is larger than the entirety of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. It really shouldn't be called anything but an expansion imo. Technically an Expansion is a DLC and vice versa but calling it a DLC almost feels wrong when a DLC could also be just a weapon skin.
The open world has 3 ghost flame dragons. The finger ruins have fuking nothing. The area before shaman village has fuking nothing. The abysal woods have fuking nothing. The area before bayle fight has fuking nothing but a reskin of lanseax. Just like miyasaki said its about the size of limgrave when you cut unwanted useless stuff. I'm tired of seeing people suck on those miyasaki twin moons.
I bought the game not even a month ago, I was really enjoying it, until the game turned into a slideshow after 90-100 hours of smooth gameplay, I saw people with PCs infinitely more powerful than mine with the same problem, no less than a micro fps Just like in the video, it's literally unplayable, as it's my first time playing I don't have online active so I disabled anticheat to see if performance improved, I've already sent 5 emails to support and nothing they recommended I do helped, apparently the The best thing to do is wait for a patch ( I spent over a week testing things to fix the game, but without success unfortunately )
Gaming on Linux is great. I had frame drops on Bud and Prime Radahn when they use their butterfly/pillars of light effects. everything else run smooth.
My Xbox genuinely can't run the radahn fight, any time one of his clone attacks happens my frames drop so drastically that I can't dodge it. I can understand some performance issues on launch, but this is just completely unacceptable.
Thats because his clone attacks have awful animation. The animation itself has lower frame rates and not optimized. Cuz they can get away with anything as they have brain ded fan boys
Since the DLC, Elden Ring is no longer playable for me, I have lags and my game freezes for 1-2 seconds. I have a 4080 RTX and an i9 9900k,32 GB Ram. I could always play Elden Ring on Ultra + ray tracing, since the DLC it doesn't even run properly on Low setting.
4080S, R9 7950X3D, 64GB ram and I can't play the game without frustration. The game is stuttering none stop and made the game unplayable for me. The graphic quality doesn't matter, Ray Tracing Off, the game is on a fast SSD I tried to change many Win11 settings to resolve the issue it half worked, the stuttering are still there just not as strong. I still can't play the game its too annoying...
They priced this DLC very well. I payed 40 bucks for 40 frames (well sometimes I had even 30 when in some caves) Running this game btw on a 1660Ti, R5 2600 OC to 4GHz + 3000MHz Ram (2x8GB). For me the big issue is lack of 32:9 support, particularly as it is rendering the content, then covering it with black bars. Sure it’s an easy fix with flawless ultrawide but then you can’t play online.

Also, I feel that the raytracing implementation isn't that heavy and at 1440p with my PC specs, I should honestly be getting 144fps+ consistently. I mean, I get 90-100fps in Cyberpunk 2077 with max settings and path tracing at 4k (with dlss performance and frame generation), so the lesser raytracing of elden ring shouldn't have nearly as low of performance as it does, and even without ray tracing, I should be able to run 240fps consistently with my rig considering I can run 1440p 240fps with the Sekiro FPS unlock mod at max settings.

Yeah I'm on a 4090. My PC is very high end. Paid a good bit over $4,000 and every game works flawlessly except for elden ring, which I experience minimal stutters but modded overhaul of elden ring like reforged is not as enjoyable, with high graphics and even turning settings down which isn't worth it because it still sometimes stutters
Bought Elden Ring base game in the past and fully regretted it. I wish I could get a refund or sell it at cost. One of the most frustrating games. Not only that, they added more frustration by nerfing. I consider AC Odyssey as the greatest game of all time. They never nerf and actually did the opposite and as a result, it’s still a game being played and streamed by a lot of players, myself included. I think I will forever play AC Odyssey. It’s just the most perfect game for me, so perfect that no game past or present in my opinion can beat it.

I don't think the game is too difficult... But fighting my PC hardware is unacceptable. The game/engine needs optimizations. I get 60 fps and then do a random dodge roll and it drops to 15 and then catches up to itself by speeding up. When it happens I usually die if it's against a boss or take damage vs trash mobs. This is a new problem I've started having when I started playing again in the base game. It's a AAA title. It should run on current generation gaming hardware

The bosses are tuned to using spirit ashes, that’s why they have so much AoE and are tanky. Playing with spirit ashes is the intended way to play.
dont have that issue, make sure your cpu and gpu are running on normal and NOT on maximum performance

i use an rx 6800s as gpu and cpu ryzen 6900hs, i get 60 fps at most on the dlc, but on grass and realistic places are so laggy oml

Why wouldn't somebody deduct points due to low performance? Just because your standards for performance is low, doesn't mean that's the same for everyone else. I wish more reviewers would deduct points for terrible performance.

I don't think the game is too difficult... But fighting my PC hardware is unacceptable. The game/engine needs optimizations. I get 60 fps and then do a random dodge roll and it drops to 15 and then catches up to itself by speeding up. When it happens I usually die if it's against a boss or take damage vs trash mobs. This is a new problem I've started having when I started playing again in the base game. It's a AAA title. It should run on current generation gaming hardware
