I’m going through a really hard time right now, and Habs games just never seem to fail to pick me up. Hutson always makes me chuckle with how insane some of the plays he makes are. It’s also been hilarious watching how automatic Laine is on that powerplay (is this how Caps fans have felt all these years? 😅) First game after that brutal injury to start the season he scored. Missed time again came back first shot bang in the net. My dad and I have been big fans of Suzuki and Caufield since they joined the team (well actually I started watching Caufield I think at the juniors (kept trying to say dad that guy is gonna be on Montreal! Haha he didn’t listen back then) also have loved Jake Evans for the last few years and he’s finally being rewarded with the stats matching his work ethic! We’ve been watching the team grow season after season with this young core. Every season prior they would get slammed by injuries but this year they didn’t and you can see how good the team is capable of being. This last month or so stretch has been some of the most fun hockey I have watched, and I’ve watched a lot of different teams over the last decade where I’ve been brutally ill and had literally nothing else to do. I’m a big oilers fan but I just don’t think they are anywhere near as fun as this Habs group to watch. They play with speed and creativity, but they can also be incredibly physical and pound the other team. It feels special. Love seeing all the other comments from fans feeling the same way. They are giving a lot of people a lot of joy and I’m very grateful for that right now 😊

Wow, this guy is so good it is scary...superior game intellect...controls the play...the skating is sublime...passing: elite, attitude: humble!
He is also holding his own pretty well for a 20 years old, 160 pounds rookie NHL defenseman who logs 25+ minutes a game.

Give him 100 millions for 10 years and lets watch the show.

The NHL is giving the RUclips community grief for its hockey content and then gives us sub-par video recaps.
They don't show hits and tend to have a bias towards certain teams.
If that was a Leafs defenceman that scored Mathesons' goal, it would have been circulating on all the platforms, yet there was nothing covering this game on its Facebook page yet.
Piss poor social media management is holding this league back to a certian point.

Monty and the team had a good game. A little bit much on penalties (I listened to the game and didn't see if they were warranted), but they kept to it and got ANOTHER 'W'. I know that a lot have focused more on Dobes and Fowler, but those guys are future 'tenders. Montembault has been SOLID since mid-December (sure some goals have been 'weak', but just as Price has bailed this team out in the past... the team has to bail out the goaltender too, and they have been) ...but Monty is the present #1 and he's been playing like it. He seems to play a lot like Price, and if he continues to channel MTL's top tender (in club history), then keep him at #1 as long as he can. However, unlike Price they need to pace his games, or he'll burned out come playoff time.
The players are starting to gel. The raw individual talent was there... they just needed to get some chemistry. Evans has been great, Dach has been starting to click... Hutson is starting to settle down and play more like he's not the only one there, Caufield and Suzuki, well we know what can go on there. Carrier has been a nide addition and is playing well. The vets are also playing well, and Laine seems to have new life in MTL and he's looking sharp. Crazy think about Laine is that I still don't think that he is 100%. He seems to be not quite as sharp as I've seen him... and if that's the case, look out when he does start to go.
    GHG!

Если до конца января возьмут хотя бы 8 очков, их уже не остановят. Просто не верится, как команда может за месяц измениться. 9 шайб от Питсбурга перевернули Хабов.

Many greats have Been drafted even further but yes u would think that modern Day scouting is tiny bit better than its use to be and habs might have good Dev system

@@MagicMaker249 clearly it's not. #2 pick of that draft, slovakian D-man Nemec is already back in the AHL, second highest D-man pick Jiricek has been traded by the team who picked him... How did those guys go before Hutson?
Not to mention comparing how much better the #3 pick of that draft played in this game as opposed to the #1
And where is the other MTL first round pick, Slaf's countryman Mesar? 🤷‍♂️

Whew...thank goodness they came back. Showing resilience and confidence in their capabilities. Not to be too churlish about it, but - when are the Canadiens going to stop giving up so many goals in the last minute or so of any given period?! It's not a stat anyone follows or keeps but I swear, just like it seems they have led the league in total lameness of their PP for years now they seem to lead the league in this frustrating "non-stat", which has cost them games.

I am really kicking myself for not betting on Hudson to win the Calder about a week ago, he was at a +1150, now he’s only at a +300

@ 3 pts last night, plus dragging his team to a playoff spot, if Montreal makes the playoffs this year they have to give it to him

@chrislaverick6413 celebrini had 2 points last night against hot streak Team Detroit... Hudson had better teammates as Celebrini. Less games/minutes, he was in bad line with other rookies while Hudson is playing like 22min per game in first defense line.. Hudson needs alot of more points to win it and i dont see it.. it will be close but it will be Celebrini..

@chrislaverick6413 yeah with 22min per game, first line and better Team.. i dont say he is bad and i give him credits.. but celebrini is better with his just 18 years:)
